Supernatural - Favorite Song - 1C - Polls

15 Dec 2012

Hey guys, sorry this is late. Lilith and I were having fun with the podcast. Without further ado....yesterday's round was another set of blowouts. Moving on to the next round are Eye of the Tiger (76%), Bad Moon Rising (76%), Hell's Bells (70%), and Wanted Dead or Alive (a whopping 82%). Let's just say my picks did not fare well yesterday. Today will not be much better, since we have 2 polls where the artists are going against themselves. Sometimes I curse the ranking order! At least one of my absolute favorites will not be moving on. I hope voting is happier for you today. Don't forget to comment about your favorites below and as always happy voting!

  1. Today is hard voting for me. Not because I am undecided but because one of my absolute favorite songs will be ending its run. Man do I hate when the rankings put my two favorites against each other. My choices:

    1. Renegade - I really sat down and listened to both songs twice because I didn't want to be voting for Renegade because it was such a perfect song choice in Nightshifter. That's the next contest. But in the end, I simply like Renegade better. It's the better beat I think. I like House of the Rising Sun a lot but Renegade gets my heart pumping.

    2. You Shook Me All Night Long - Not even a question. Not only is this song fun, it's also ingrained into my personal history. I remember singing it out the bus windows at 5 am on a Saturday, headed to a band competition. Good times!

    3. Neither would be my vote when compared to the other great songs in here. I think they are both pretty weak. However, Smoke on the Water has that classic intro so it gets my vote.

    4. Both. In fact, these are in my top 4 songs in my personal SPN music ranking. I love BOC, even more than AC/DC. Yes I know that's sacrilege but I like the vocals a lot better and these two songs are the best. In the end I like Burning for You a slight bit more but both songs really should be in the final four.

  2. AC/DC and Blue Oyster Cult each battling against themselves? How shall I choose!

Renegade. It's a great song. I've never been that much of a fan of House of the Rising Sun.

Thunderstruck. The song puts me into this kickass mood, and I love that. You Shook Me is a close second though.

This third poll I'm a bit ambivalent over. Both songs are good, and ultimately I choose Heat of the Moment, because I'm a sucker for certain ear worms, and this one can definitely be considered an ear worm.

Don't Fear the Reaper. Of the two BOC songs, I prefer it most certainly. Though..."Needs more Cowbell".

  3. Renegade is one of my favorites. House of the Rising Sun isn't even in the running in my opinion. I have never really liked the song. I prefer You Shook Me All Night Long. The third was 50/50 situation. I went with Smoke on the Water. I grew up listening to it. The last one had to be Don't Fear the Reaper. Love that song.

  4. Oh man, 2 of these were really hard. Went with.

House of the Rising Sun, this has been a favorite of mine forever and since I also love Renegade and Styx was a lot of soul searching and back and forth, picked Sun.

Thunderstruck because of the intro, could listen to that all day.

Heat of the Moment, love the start of Smoke on the Water, but then it loses me, but have got Dean's ringtone on my phone.

Not a fan of BOC so this was a coin flip and Reaper won.

  5. oh my, you are not going to like my comment..have never been a fan of BOC, but do love Styx and most AC/DC...Dang I do love this show and their music.

  6. I'm fairly certain that Carry on My Wayward Son is gonna be the ultimate final winner

  7. House of the rising Sun. I've always loved that song.

You Shook Me All Night Long. Great song

Heat of the Moment. I like the 80's music. Then it will always remind me of ome of my favourite eps.
Don't Fear The Reaper. Another song that I liked way before Supernatural.

  8. No doubt. This is more a contest to see what is in the top 5 than the winner. I would guess Carry on Wayward Son will decimate all of its competition. :-)

  9. Music is always a personal choice. I like the vocals in BOC a lot more than the other two groups and they are a lot more melodic than AC/DC. While AC/DC was my favorite classic rock group when I was young, I'm getting slightly less fond of them as I get older. I still love them - don't get me wrong - and Supernatural of course rekindles that love every season. Back in Black will always be a favorite. As for Styx, they have always been a group with an identity crisis for me and they got way too psychedelic weird for me for awhile. Renegade will always be amazing, with or without the Supernatural association, but Come Sail Away makes me turn my radio dial fast. Also Babe makes me roll my eyes with its syrupy Hallmark lyrics.

  10. 1. Renegade

    2. You Shook Me All Night Long

    3. Smoke On The Water

    4. Don't Fear The Reaper

  11. Of course, I am laughing like an idiot, as I love Babe. lol In fact that is the song that got me hooked on Styx.

  12. Most people I know do love Babe. There's a reason why it's a karaoke favorite. Feel free to call me a hypocrite when I wax nostalgic over Can't Fight This Feeling tomorrow. It may not be quite as schmaltzy but it has Hallmark written all over it.

  13. The rankings did screw me over today. In all fairness, AC/DC has so many songs on the list that it was always going to go against itself and may do so again. I laughed when you called Heat of the Moment an ear worm. I think that's why I chose Smoke on the Water.

  14. In what episode was "Don't Fear the Reaper?" It's funny because I love that song and was thinking before that it would be great on SPN. I didn't realize it had already been on the show.

  15. Faith when the reaper is going after the female jogger.

  16. If you watched the show on iTunes or Netflix, the song was missing however. Only the DVDs have the original music from season one.

    ReplyDelete
  17. yeah, AC/DC I'm sure will see battle against itself again. I think I'll be able to pick a clear favorite each time...though we'll see!

    ReplyDelete
  18. Very true which is why no one should ever go to iTunes or Netflix to watch season 1. The replacement music sucks out loud in almost every single episode.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Funny! I jumped into the series late and bought the earlier seasons through Amazon. I just checked and it's different music during the jogger scene. So that's it!

    ReplyDelete
  20. Ahhhh, I missed this one somehow! But each of my choices (save Thunderstruck) won, so I'm not too broken up about it.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Thus far it's only hard when I don't care for either song so I'm doing well on this poll compared to the others. There are songs that I wish would have moved on but I'm not fanatical about any of them.

    ReplyDelete
  22. It's too bad, because season one had the most classic rock music of all the seasons, and I hate that the only way to hear the right songs is to buy the DVDs! Especially with Don't Fear the Reaper. The use of the song in that scene is near perfection. It's among my favorites of the whole show.
