Supernatural - 8.09 - Citizen Fang - Podcast
Dec 10, 2012
Podcast SupernaturalSince this podcast was so long, it's split into 2 parts. Also the mailbox part was held for our second listener feedback episode which will come during the hiatus. If you would like to add your comments to that episode please contact us by December 13. We will be posting special episodes each week of the hiatus including ones on meta, alternative universe, and time travel episodes. By the way, we recorded these before season 8 began so some things have obviously changed. Also it was the first time I had ever podcasted so you don't want to miss that, right? :-P

It's been a blast doing this podcast so far. Thanks to everyone who is listening and thanks to everyone who has sent feedback. Can't wait to do another Listener Feedback episode so get those comments and burning questions in by Dec. 13. Podcast links are above and also in the podcast itself.
ReplyDeleteOne of the things that jumped out at me during a rewatch was the filming of Martin in the diner (both at the beginning but especially later when he calls Benny). They zoom in on his mouth and him eating the pie in the same fashion that shows like Criminal Minds aways film the serial killer.
ReplyDeleteThis season is supposed to be about perception, so it's interesting how through mostly direction choices the show was able to get a majority of the SPN fandom rooting for a vampire to kill a hunter. And not just any hunter. A harmless-looking family friend who Sam and Dean have worked with before, and who we are led to believe the Winchester family owes for past favors.
I think Cas had powers because he doesn't belong there.
ReplyDeleteJust listened to the podcast.
ReplyDeleteLots of things going on, however I only wanted to say that I agree with what you said Lilith that each episode of Supernatural should be judged on its own merits and not in relation to the season it appears in.
If an episode is outstanding, it is regardless and if it sucks, it sucks regardless. This season has not been able to produce one memorable episode and this is enormously negative.
Thanks again for the time you have all taken to produce these interesting podcasts.
Thanks. I just hate being the negative Nelly because, this is the first time ever, I'm not just this happy go lucky SPN cheerleader all over the place. It's breaking my heart a little to be honest. But I say it like I mean it. I;m glad SPN is doing well enough and those that are enjoying the season I'm truly happy for them. I just wish I could LOVE an episode this season. There's still 14 more chances so there's that. Here's hoping Carver knows what he's doing.
ReplyDeleteI understand about the negativity as it's never comfortable to be a 'whiny' voice when the majority seem to be happy with the season and the direction the show is going in.
ReplyDeleteI myself went went from positive to super negative and it makes one feel down to be in that position, but if you love the show, I think it's correct to voice one's perplexities if one has them.
SPN is one of the few shows I follow and I want the best for it.
However, I think this is a sucky season, completely OOC for both brothers, and I can't blindly praise and accept it just because this is what the writers give us and expect us to suck up, thinking they're being so smart and innovative!
I think its too late to save the season, even if there is a gigantic ret-con in some future episode.
In any case there are aways going to be nine episodes of absolutely contrived brother-hating on each other and nothing can cancel them.
As you say, kudos to those who are enjoying the season.
