Scene Of The Week - December 16, 2012

16 Dec 2012

Second week! Thanks so much for all your contribution! My picks this week are:

1. Show: NCIS
Episode: Devil's Trifecta
Date: December 11, 2012
Actors: Sean Murray, Melinda McGraw
Category: Funny
The Scene: The one I’ve chosen is the “hug me” scene between McGee and Gibbs’ and Fornell’s ex Diane Sterling. This has got to be the funniest episode NCIS has ever made. I know I couldn’t stop laughing watching it. And this scene is just a brilliant example of it. With Tim’s comic reaction and absolutely hilarious dialogue the scene seems to be taken out of the comedy. And obviously everything that follows it is just pure comedy gold. “The morning after” and basically every sentence Tobias has directed towards McGee later were priceless. Definitely recommend it to watch if you need cheering up! Or even when you don’t.
Quote:
“You come over here and hug me right now, dammit!” Diane

2. Show: Hart Of Dixie
Episode: Blue Christmas
Date: December 11, 2012
Actors: Rachel Bilson, Wilson Bethel
Category: Romantic
The Scene: It’s always nice to see the couple you’re rooting for finally getting together. For real. So I’ve chosen the last scene of the episode where Zoe asks Wade to become her “real, out in public, everyone knows about actual boyfriend” as a sweet tribute to all their fans (including yours truly). Also, because of another great and very emotional scene in the episode (Wade’s speech to his father in the church) I felt like the show deserved a credit and recognition for its amazing work.
Quote:
“You really put yourself out there, I was so scared that it wouldn't work and that we wouldn't have anything in common that I kind of sabotaged it. But the thing that I realized was that I like you Wade Kinsella. I really like you. And who knows maybe there's a chance you and I could be happy together. But we'll never know unless we try.” Zoe

And here’s more of SpoilerTV Team members’ favorite scenes. Looks like it’s been a great week for TV!

1. FROM BABAR SUHAIL

How I Met Your Mother, “The Over-Correction”, December 10, 2012
Actors: Cobie Smulders, Josh Radnor and Ellen D Williams
The Scenes:

1) Robin and Patrice - When Robin tells Patrice about the Playbook, but Patrice doesn't believe that it exists, and Robin shouts:"WHY WON"T YOU LET ME HELP YOU, PATRICE?!!!"
2) Robin and Ted - When Robin tells Ted that she cares about Patrice, and she's like a sister to her, but Ted says that Robin has never had a conversation with her w/o shouting at her and Robin says, "Sisters fight, Ted".

2. FROM TASHA ELLIS

Homeland, “In Memoriam”, December 9, 2012
Actors: Damian Lewis, Morena Baccarin
The Scene:

The both of them in the car finally having an honest conversation and accepting that there marriage is over.

Show: Grey’s Anatomy, “Run, Baby, Run”, December 13, 2012
Actors: Sara Ramirez, Chandra Wilson, Jessica Capshaw, Ellen Pompeo, James Pickens, Jr.

The Scenes:
1) Callie telling Bailey to run by projecting her issues with Arizona
2) The bedroom scene, where Callie tells Arizona how beautiful she is. It was a sweet, yet sad scene.
3) Callie finally snapping on Arizona. Definitely a powerful scene, yet still had the comedic aspect.
4) Bailey with Callie and Meredith “Hey, when you get to the wedding stand in the front don’t sit down"
5) Bailey and Chief in the limo and the hospital scene with Adele. Their relationship is so amazing and honest. Without words Bailey just jumps in and takes over, even though it’s her wedding day. People will probably be furious with Bailey’s decision but Chief has always been there for her and supported her. So this is Bailey’s turn to return the favor as best as she knows how.

3. FROM SHARON SEYMOUR

Dexter, "Do You See What I See?", December 9, 2012
Actors: Michael C. Hall, Yvonne Strahovski
The Scene:

At the end where Dexter meets with Hannah and she then realizes that the police are coming and that Dexter has betrayed her. Her line "You should have just killed me" was very emotional.

Person of Interest, “Shadow Box”, December 13, 2012
The Scene:

The very last scene with Reese and 3 other men in suits as they were being handcuffed was very powerful and a great mid-season cliffhanger.

4. FROM JAIME COUDEVILLE

Vampire Diaries, "O Come, All Ye Faithful", December 13, 2012
Actors: Ian Somerhalder, Nina Dobrev
The Scene:

Damon setting Elena free.

Glee, “Glee, Actually”, December 13, 2012
Actors: Melissa Benoist, Jane Lynch
The Scene:

Marley and her mom finding the Christmas tree that Sue got for them.
That scene seriously brought tears to my eyes.

5. FROM LISA MACKLEM

Person of Interest, “Shadow Box”, December 13, 2012
Actors: Jim Caviezel, Michael Emerson
The Scene:

Reese tells Finch that the job makes him happy.

Arrow, “Year’s End”, December 12, 2012
Actors: Stephen Amell, Colin Donnell, David Ramsey, Paul Blackthorne, John Barrowman
The Scenes:

1) The fight between Arrow and the Dark Archer.
2) Diggle tells Oliver that he is making a difference.
3) Tommy to Laurel's father: "How are you sir?"
Detective Lance: "Proficient with firearms."

And what’s your favorite scene of the week?

  5. Love seeing this round up of the best of the week! What a great idea, Justyna!
And I have to add another one from POI - When Finch tells Reese he found riding on the motorcycle exhilarating and thinks he might buy one - and Reese just gives him "the look"...

  6. POI just keeps getting better!

  8. 1. Person Of Interest - Cliffhanger ending. Just a great twist to give us something to look forward to when the show returns. Reese chose to stay behind to save the POI's and got caught because of it. Donnelly's face when he realized he had four "Men In The Suit"s was priceless, and the music (Rolling Stones) was great.

    2. Homeland - The moment Saul realized Estes is trying to frame him. To me, that was more interesting than the stuff with Carrie, Brody or Nazir in that episode. Mandy Patinkin was great.

    3. Dexter - LaGuerta tricks Dexter. The previous episode was just horrible, and I was so glad to see this episode was better. LaGuerta did something actually smart and surprising. Using the one guy Dexter would go after immediately was a great way to catch him. Now that man escaped, and he knows who Dexter is and that he wants to kill him. Sounds like a good plotline for the show's last season!

Honorable mention goes to the last scene of Fringe. Personally, I thought the episode was a bit too slow - so close to the finale - and that that scene was a bit pointless because I felt like Walter didn't really learn anything new by seeing all of that again (and that scene did take very long)... But I'll admit that it was executed brilliantly. And even if the scene annoyed me a tiny bit at the time, at least there's a brilliant composition of all of Walter's themes to look forward to on the next soundtrack!

  9. Vampire Diaries - O Come, All Ye Faithful
Klaus Slaughtering Hybrids with O' Holy night playing in the background

  11. This is fun. My scene of the week if from American Horror Story, The Coat Hanger. Jude, now a patient at Briarcliff, repents of her meanness to Lana.

  12. I agree with Jaime about Glee. It was a crazy episode, but I definitely loved that part.
I also enjoyed BBT's Sheldon explaining why he didn't like Santa.
And I don't watch Elementary religiously or anything, but they said the famous "Once you eliminate the impossible" Sherlock Holmes quote and I love when they use things from the source.

  13. The shows I watch that were still on this week were great.

The Person Of Interest last scene with the song was great.

Liked the dance scene on Beauty and the Beast.

  14. Nice my choices got picked!!! :) But apparently no one agree w/ me in the comments lol

  15. That was a great POI scene, agreed! I love how Jum Cavaziel is very gradually working emotion into how Reese responds to things, and that scene was very well done.

  16. BBT! The scene where they played "Jingle Bells"!

    ReplyDelete
  17. Glee ... well, that probably was the best scene in that episode, but that's sort of like being the best hockey player in Equador....

  18. Just to let you know, in the finale of Homeland, I think Brody dies. RTE in Ireland, channel released their promo for it as they show it on Tuesdays (2 days behind America) and they had new footage in with where Brody says "My car has moved" and it's in the same building/room as where in the Promo Carrie is crying and says "Oh My God" by herself. So... Kinda sounds like Brody isn't going to make it out alive!

  19. Love the choices for my shows. Especially NCIS - my mom and I could not stop laughing!

Another of my favorite scenes this week was on Parenthood. It was probably one of the brighter spots of the episode: Zeek telling the grandkids about the time he "spotted" Santa. Really sweet and definitely captured the magic of Christmas.
