The professor is going to do the same spell that the grandmother did. The grandmother needed 12 sacrifices, the professor needs 12 hybrids, he is also teaching Bonnie the same kind of magic.
Also, the witch daughter reinforced what Tyler said about sired bonds. Tyler said that being sired don't change how someone feels about who they are sired to, the witch daughter said that vampire sires work that there needs to be real human emotions before the conversion, for someone to be sired.
It goes to show, that even with Elena being sired she does have feelings for Damon, and strong enough that allow the sire to happen.
Damon can never win can he? The writers can never let him be happy for once in his life...It pisses me off, and not just because I'm a Delena shipper...Poor Damon... >:(
Elena admitted that her feelings for Damon had nothing to do with the sire bond or anything but due to her feelings for him beforehand. That last scene with Damon trying to do "the right thing" was heartbreaking. :(
I can't wait to see where they are taking Bonnie's storyline. One thing is for sure: she's not dabbling in dark magic, but in something worse, something far darker. I wonder what it is Prof. Shane reveals to them next week.
"I'm happy" Well, he deserves some happiness. He's been alone for too long. Loosing every girl he cared about. And again: Why is Stefan so positive he is the only one right for Elena? He lied to her, he let her down … And why is it so hard for Stefan to believe somebody could love Damon without being compelled or sired? He's not perfect, true. But neither is Stefan. Well, at least Stefan got that Damon is not the devil, as he liked to believe. This is just torture. I hate JP for that. She gave Damon one day (make it one night) with Elena and now it's either having her sired to him or order her to not care for him anymore. I almost started crying when Damon was struggling to do the right thing for Elena by releasing her. I wonder, what Damon is gonna do. He loves Elena and is not willing to risk her or lose her. But he's not comfortable with her being sired to him. Even if the witch confirmed that she loved him before she turned (poor Stefan). "The bond effects how you act, not how you feel" at least someone got it. Thanks Ty. And congratulations for becoming alpha. Girls having a party at the Salvatore house. Nice! But taking picts and making vids of their vamp powers? Not a good idea. What if it makes it to the net? But I'm sooo glad, Elena got over her self-pity and is actually enjoying herself. And her new vampire powers. I can't believe Elena told her friends she slept with Damon. Didn't he tell her to keep it a secret? Well …He said "one day". When it became night, technically the day was over. And I dislike Shane more and more every week.
Caroline has her problems with Damon for what he did to her. Can't really blame her. No, I can. I can as long as she hangs out with Klaus. Hypocrite! Agree that Stefan and Elena were kinda stuck in their relationship.
Done! The witch told both of them that Elena is sired to him, cause she had feelings (real, true, human feelings) for him before she turned. That almost crushed Stefan. He wanted so desperate to believe that Elena acts the way she does and feels for Damon, because she is sired to him.
Agree. Caroline was awful in S1. Then she became amazing. Now … I could strangle her. Giving Elena a hard time over her feelings for Damon while dating Klaus? Bitch!
These 12 hybrids are reminding me on the 12 humans Damon had to kill for the witch. I think, the hybrids are the sacrifice. We just need to know what exactly the reward for this sacrifice should be.
First of all I do not think that Elena and Damon are a good match, she needs to be with Stefan. Second I liked the look on Damon's face when Elena was drinking from the blood bag and was fine, he looked so hurt that Stefan was right about the sire bond. Now we know that Damon has had a sire bond before in the past so why did he not see it with Elena? I am so glad that Caroline can not keep a secret and she told Elena about the sire bond. The flashback story was ok. The scene with Damon and Stefan and the daughter of the witch, when she tells them that there is no way to break the spell was good cause now we know what the professor is up to with his 12 hybrids and the whole teaching Bonnie some "new" magic. I really hope Bonnie is smart and will figure out his plan before she does something stupid. Also the whole Tyler putting that ware-bitch in her place was awesome, although I am thinking that now that Tyler is the Alpha he may have bitten off more than he can chew. Also I am excited to see what Klaus' reaction will be when he finds out whats happened with his hybrids. Then ending with Damon and Elena was a cliffhanger. I hope Damon will let her go but I have a feeling that Julie Plec(the E.P. of the show) won't let that happen just yet. Over all a good episode.
And if for once Caroline could shut her mouth, it would be amazing! She's become way to judgmental and it's annoying :/ Also Stefan doesn't realize he's being a lot more selfish than Damon trying to get back Elena. I'm not a fan of Delena but I mean there are genuine feelings and realistically Elena and Stefan were not going anywhere.
elena is still relluctant to do everything damon sais so really i still don't like the sire bond in the story, really it's like the writers are determined to take damon's happyness every time
I officially hate Caroline, it sucks because she was my fav character in season 2. I gotta say the character that is really shinning this season is Tyler, he's just awesome this year.
so apparently when someone loves a vampire and gets turned by that vampire they get sired? Fine i'll go for that buts it not super duper rare i bet then like the've been saying before this.
I kind of liked sarcastic Stefan, at least he wasn't so boringly goody goody the entire episode. On the other hand, the level of hypocrisy from both Stefan and Caroline in this episode was surprisingly high. You can't be surprised Caroline hates Damon's guts, after S1, but as long as she has a great time with Klaus, it seems to me that she's only projecting her situation onto Elena. Same goes for Stefan, who expects Damon to act on his UNSELFISHNESS and let Elena go, when he himself should've done that in the first place, but instead he's relentlessly searching for a cure because he thinks Elena's not supposed to be that person.
It was a little painful to watch Elena do what pleases Damon, and I couldn't stop comparing it to Charlotte and I'm actually really curious how are they gonna resolve this, when there's no cure (and as much as Damon wants to do the right thing, I don't think he is gonna give up on Elena).
A sire bond doesn't always come into effect, only 1 in a million like they said. It's just in order to be sired, you have to have feelings for the vampire beforehand.
I actually really liked this episode .. lots of character development ... and thank God they've explained a rational way the bond works! Elena's feelings are real! Which is so important, because, (a) Elena has become really peppy!! and (b) Damon is soooo happy!!! :)
But, Ian needs to cut his hair .... he looked so good in the flashback! I miss his season 1 evil hair! :-p
Stefan specifically said he didn't care if Elena felt the same way about him again, he just wants it to be her choice of her free will... so I'm not sure how you can say Stefan is being selfish! I do agree that his relationship with Elena was kinda stagnant but at least she was able to choose whether to stay with him or not herself.
I actually like Stefan and Caroline together myself, and Tyler and Hayley (though Hayley is sure to end up dead for her betrayal).
There's no denying she had feelings for Damon - she's said that for ages - but she was in love with Stefan. Becoming a vampire heightened those feelings but the sire bond made her do and believe everything that Damon said (it showed that when she changed her opinions to suit him). Now with that in mind re-watch this season.... Damon literally told her she should be with him and Stefan couldn't help her.
Possibly the fact that she drank from Damon shortly after she became a vampire (or was that after he told her she couldn't drink from blood bags.... I can't recall).
..This episode was fucking.!!!!...GORGEOUS.....yess the ONLY thing ruin it was the selection of the FIRST instrumental song the intro of bella and edward common find a song equivalent to elena and damon.the the only tiny ,little thin the rest of the storyline very cool
Like many couples with major sexual tension and a lot of buildup, Delena's post hookup scenes were just disappointing IMO. It's like this kind of couple just loses a great part of their chemistry after their first time. It's just weird, but it's like all that chemistry was gone.
He said "Vampires eat people" right before she left with Stefan. After she rejected the animal blood she told him she needs help (a day or two, maybe three days later) and he gave her his blood.
But, as I said it last week (several times), it makes no sense. They argued. How could she disagree if there is a sire bond? And in the Grill he said "Pick your meal" and she didn’t. And why did she killed Connor? Cause Damon told her to? Or cause he tried to kill her after he almost killed her brother?
The sire bond seems to have short blackouts.
It's not the blood.
But I don't know if it's just the emotions. As I said, both brothers loved Katerina and none of them was sired to her. And the bond wouldn't be so rare if it's just that. At first I thought that the emotions have to be real and both-sided. Which would explain Damon and Elena, but not Damon and Charlotte (that was her name, right?). She was in love with him. But did she really loved him, or was it more of a crush? And even if: He liked her, but I doubt he loved her. There has to be more.
actually, she said she wanted to tell her friends, and thats why she wanted a girl's night. So, technically, she was breaking that "order" very earlier. I still believe she's not sired.
Other problem I have with this sired thing, Charlotte WANTED to be a Vampire, so it makes sense she was GRATEFUL to Damon, like the hibrids are with Klaus. But Elena isn't grateful, she's furious about it. And she definitely wasn't that grateful to Damon as human, otherwise she would have chosen him, and not Stefan.
I feel like he was being completely selfish at the beginning and then came around slightly when he said that. And I too love the Caroline and Stefan dynamic it's almost like she is the new Lexie, which is nice.
He said "One secret selfish day" and she agreed "one day". And after dark it was technically night. Means, the day was over. If you take it literally. Or maybe it was after midnight when she told them. So, actually a new day.
I already said last week (several times) that this sire bond is weird. Sometimes it seems like it is there, sometimes it's not, … Like it's having blackouts.
Before she rejected animal blood he said "Vampires eat people" and her body rejects everything not coming directly from a human vain. But then he said "Pick your meal" and she couldn't. Sometimes they are arguing. How can she disagree with him when she is sired? But sometimes she just changes her mind to agree with him.
As I said, this bond is weird. But I think she is sired. At the beginning she rejected blood bags, now that he told her to drink it, she can.
Carlotte wanted it, Elena didn’t. True. What about Isobel? She wanted to turn and Damon turned her. But she wasn't sired to him. Damon wanted to be a vampire too. For Katerina, of course, and he's not sired. But then, of course, it's always a question what she compelled him to.
I think the reason she was with Stefan was, that she met him first and she fall for him. He was what she needed: sweet, charming, understanding, … And Damon was an ass. And he was with Caroline. Then Elena found out and hated him for a while, but she still trusted Stefan.
I liked it much more than I expected. Tyler was awesome staking his alpha claim. :-) I was actually glad that he clarified things with regard to the sire bond. Don't really like the change in Caroline. It's a little too close to the shrill Caroline we got rid of when she became a vampire. Granted she has more reason than most to hate Damon, but the judgmental shrew isn't the best version of her.
I get why they made Elena sired to Damon (it gives them a way out of Elena feeding on people, and of course the eternal limbo of the triangle love story) but I think dumping the siree is a wussy way out. It feels like a cheat or at the least a lazy way to keep them from becoming a real couple.
Now we have a pretty good idea of what Creepy Professor Guy is up to....well in the sense that he's going to murder those 12 hybrids and send Bonnie into a worse spot than she was in when she tried to bring Elena back to life. Hopefully, the woman will grow a brain soon.
But Damon was the one to get a bag for her. And on the first episode he told her to drink the blood from the start, and she said she wouldn't, she wanted to try everything first. And she only drank when she was dying.
I was saying about the choice on the end of last season, not on the beggining. And Isobel didn't like Damon. I think Damon may have been sired to Katherine, and that's why he kept trying to find her all this time, and then when they finally talk, and he was kissing her and all over her, she said she never loved him, and would allways be Stefan, without realizing he was sired. The witch said that you have to let the one go, kind of broke the heart of the sired one, right? Maybe it didn't have to be so literal, maybe that's when she broke his sire.
And, since the professor talked with the priest, and he can hipnotize people, maybe those deaths were a human sacrifice to give magic for bonnie, since she got magic back after learning how to use the expression, right?
That is why I think that there has to be more to the sire bond than just human feelings between vampire and human.
Charlotte was, as Damon said it "crazy" about him. But: Did she loved him? Was she in love with him? Both? We don't know. She wanted to turn. She was sired. That’s all we know for sure.
I wasn't clear about Isobel. I meant that she used him to be turned, but she never loved him. She wasn't sired.
Both Salvatore brothers were in love with Katerina. I assume that at least they loved her at the beginning. We know that she compelled them all the time. But they still loved her after they turned, so that was real. But none of them was sired to her. Not even Damon and he wanted to turn to be with her (or was it an idea she put in his head?). So again: were they in love with her or did they loved her? Or both?
At first I thought that the feelings need to be both sided. But we're unclear of Damons feelings for Charlotte. I doubt he loved her.
The hybrids are grateful. Charlotte probably was (she wanted to turn). But so was Isobel. And Elena isn't.
So … why are some vamps sired, others not? I think Bruce is right. He says that JP made some rules about the sire bond and that we're for now unclear of them, but that they will be revealed and it's a waste of time to torture our brains over her logics (or lack of it in some cases). O.K., that last part is mine, but I think he would agree.
Katerina was a bitch saying all that to Damon. But she didn't actually said "Forget about me, go and live your life without me" Remember how hard it was for Damon to make Charlotte go away. But O.K., it's been a while and I need to check S2 to see if the bitch actually said something that could break the bond.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
The professor is going to do the same spell that the grandmother did. The grandmother needed 12 sacrifices, the professor needs 12 hybrids, he is also teaching Bonnie the same kind of magic.

ReplyDeleteRight? I totally agree with you! Poor Damon... :(
ReplyDeleteDamon and Caroline are the ones who need to talk. "I'm sorry for raping you." - Damon "I'm sorry for being a hypocritical bitch." - Caroline
ReplyDeleteIt was a great episode.
ReplyDeleteElena admitted that her feelings for Damon had nothing to do with the sire bond or anything but due to her feelings for him beforehand. That last scene with Damon trying to do "the right thing" was heartbreaking. :(

i have one simple request, that Stephen get bitch slapped by Elena's true emotions. that is all.
ReplyDeletehe didnt tetnically rape her their first time caroline wanted to do it to before he bit her.
ReplyDeleteThe last scene was amazing thoug, acting was great and even if it was sad you can see how much Damon and Elena love each other
ReplyDelete"I'm happy" Well, he deserves some happiness. He's been alone for too long. Loosing every girl he cared about.

ReplyDeleteYeah, that would be an interesting talk. But you're right. He never actually apologized to her, did he?
ReplyDeleteThese 12 hybrids are reminding me on the 12 humans Damon had to kill for the witch. I think, the hybrids are the sacrifice. We just need to know what exactly the reward for this sacrifice should be.
ReplyDeleteWell, he always had problems with taking responsibility for his actions.
ReplyDeleteBut he did apologize to Jeremy for Vicky, if I remember correctly.
if a vampire is only sired when they have had feelings for their maker before they were turned then why wasn't damon sired to katherine?

Another awesome episode. Love flashbacks, Lexi and Delfan :D
ReplyDelete"The bond affects how you ACT NOT how you FEEL"
ReplyDeleteWill there be any scene with Delena without Caroline and Stefan interruption?
ReplyDeleteA sire bond doesn't always come into effect, only 1 in a million like they said. It's just in order to be sired, you have to have feelings for the vampire beforehand.

ReplyDeleteLuck. Over the course of 70 years and only siring two is kind of rare. imo. It's more luck than anything I'd say. Also a plot device.
ReplyDeleteI feel like he was being completely selfish at the beginning and then came around slightly when he said that. And I too love the Caroline and Stefan dynamic it's almost like she is the new Lexie, which is nice.
