I think I died. Won't survive the 3 weeks until the next episode.
So Beecher is bad? Or is he undercover (officially) since Olson said he did UC work. Or does he even know that guy is HR boss???
Finch and a motorcycle. LOL!
And if I kept posting my thoughts, this post would be a mile long, but...that's one way to only kindasortasomewhat get caught? Will it save Reese? Dun dun dunn!
(At least the wait to find out Reese's fate won't be nearly as long as the summer break to see Reese rescue Finch!)
dam that was one good episode. and the music in the end...wow that worked so well with that. As much as i knew this finale wasnt a big deal the music helped make it be. And now the FBI has reese but im sure that wont be too much of a problem getting him out. I like the continued hr story and that the villains r so spread out at war and just crazy. Elias still involved even in prison, root and wesley (the ex m16 guy played by Julian Sands) r still out and about, snow is now Kara Stanton's reese's handler's b!tch pretty much, and HR let by the chief of staff quin is starting up more trouble. While i love reese and finch continuing with their main objective of saving the people of interest but its also partly their responsibility to be involved and deal with the threats of their enemies mainly HR and Stanton at the moment.
..Fantastic,.Amazing,.Awesome,.Incredible,.Surprising episode what a cliffhanger..Reese is a genius but how he get out with this mess ,he put itself .the fbi will run fingerprint all kind of medical and tech this will be very fun to watch
Awesome episode! But that's just standard for Person of Interest.
Loved Finch on the motorcycle. Wish Bear got more action though, he's part of the team too!
Curious what the one HR guy was doing exactly watching the HR boss. And I doubt Beecher knows that the guy is the boss of HR, but I'm curious how that'll play in since Carter is interested in Beecher.
The cliffhanger was good, I didn't think that would end up being the end until the music started playing. Where did those people come from though to help out Reese? Were they just random people or what?
I gotta give this episode a Great instead of my usual Awesome. I've always enjoyed the episodes more when we're *shown* who the POI is as a person as opposed to being told. Tonight we were mostly told. My other problem was that the bulk of the 'FBI might catch Finch and Reese' story felt like we were revisiting the same territory covered by season one's mid-season and season ending episodes. Did love the 4 men in suits quandary. :-)
I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that Carter's beau isn't working for HR. That scene was just a little too cleverly written to not be intentionally misleading the audience. :-)
It was a really good episode just wasn't at the top of the list for me.
Random thoughts: - Isn't it funny how theories that are "based on the evidence" can be so far off from accurate? - How many times can Detective Carter be shocked or even surprised by what Finch and Reese do? Carter really doesn't get exactly what Team Machine does or their technological reach does she? XD - Anyone else laugh at Chapel's security thugs firing off half a dozen or so rounds and each hitting the 7x4-inch licence plate of the motorcycle and nothing else? XD - I do have doubts that what appeared to be electronic safety deposit box locks would work if removed from their power source...... Hmmm. - I wonder what is in those cardboard storage tubes? Whatever it is it stopped bullets from hitting Reese! XD
Fusco has had his fill of HR and wants his leash off. Good for him! It seems like he is the one that is always in the most danger and he deserves more screen time in my opinion. His arcs are more exciting and fun and I want to see more of them!
I liked the ongoing HR arc quite a bit and how it now seems like Beecher possibly could be involved.... at the very least he is on HR's radar and could be used against Carter/ Team Machine later. I wish more time would have been spent on HR this episode and less on the inept FBI hunt for the"man in the suit".
Having Reese in cuffs and the FBI onto Team Machine's communications is interesting, but it was not as exciting to me as what I expected from a mid-season finale honestly. We have seen Reese get away from government types a number of times and we know their playbook unlike when Root took Finch. She could have done anything, but the FBI will just detain Reese until he escapes on his own or with help from others. If he (or the other "men in suits") even make it back to the FBI HQ! XD
Overall a very good episode that set up some interesting possibilities for future episodes but I wanted more from a mid-season finale I guess.
I thought the FBI hunt was too familiar too and while they have a slightly better plan of attack this time, they still are for the most part in the dark about who and what Team Machine is and does. They simply do not make the same formidable opponent as say Elias, HR, Kara Stanton, or Root!
I think Beecher could have been dirty in his past perhaps, but I do not think he is on HR's payroll directly. That does not mean he couldn't be used by them later this season though!
I think whenever Alonzo Quinn (head of HR) is active in public Simmons is around as overwatch.
The random people arriving as the bank opened were just that, random people going to work or wanting to go to the bank building for something as far as I could tell.
Ya that's what I thought with Simmons watching over Quinn (thanks for the name), but the fact that Fuscoe asked Simmons what he was doing there made me think there was something else going on.
That's a possibility, but why would they be down there? I guess they could've just been going down the stairs and they were rounded up as men in suits who were down there but hadn't been around Reese or the big hole in the floor/ceiling. Thanks.
Reese got away from Donnelly before because Donnelly could never really surround him in the hotel. He got away from Snow because Snow was there to kill him, not capture him. Here Reese got overzealous protecting his charges and ended up having only 2 ways out, both of which Donnelly had covered.
This was a pretty good midseason finale. The only thing I might have wanted to see was Stanton finally showing up.
I was waiting for her too, actually It is Cara who is up to something Big and Donnelly thinks it relates to the man in the suit (that China thing), when Cara start messing with them, Donnelly will have the second thought that the man in the suit is still out there, and what they found were just few men in the suit.
Good points about why Reese has gotten away before....
I think he has been overzealous before, but all the pieces fell in place for him to get away or he did not have the FBI containing the building and limiting his options at the last minute.
I thought Stanton might show up too... She more closely resembles Donnelly's theories about the mystery man in the suit than Reese...
OH my side notes were not really "faults" I saw in the episode, just observations I found funny or a bit off. I really don't expect Person of Interest to be 100% plausible and realistic all the time. It's just not that type of show, but it sure is fun!!!
Yeah I did wonder if Finch's comment about Chapel's men looking somewhat like Reese (something like tall and menacing) would come into play when he said it, but I never thought that they would all end up "Men in suits" for the FBI to arrest! XD
Ya I meant the 3 men in the suits. I thought of them being Yang's men at first, but I didn't get why they would cooperate or not just rat out... wait a minute... because they don't know the FBI is specifically looking for Reese. Ha I'm foolish, thanks.
Ya I for some reason thought they would know the FBI was looking for Reese, I now realize how stupid that is and that they were the 3 men shooting at Reese.
Awesome episode for me. Funny moments with Reese, Finch and Carter. Interesting revelation about Breecher and your connection with HR. The case of the week good too, but the best part is the operation to get "the man in the suit", the final moments was just great, the tension, the action, the great score, wow man I want the next episode now.
Carter work for FBI, sounds good to me.
Quinn make alliances to fight against Elias and involve the russian mob, the same guys of the episode 7 of season 1, the script is so clever to bring this people back.
More clever is 4 man in suit on the last scene, just cool enough.
Great episode! Not too sure about the ending though will all of the guys not speaking and acting the same way. Loved the throw away line by Finch near the beginning when he and Reese were talking about domestic terrorism and Finch said "her number would have popped up and gone to whoever is in the government that's running that part of it now". Nice setup to the new Jason Bourne/Catwoman character they're going introduce.
I am very suspicious of Beecher, this show made me paranoid, we have seen many shocking twist so far, HR knows about the man in the suit and if Simmons saw Fusco that day they were helping Reese ( S01:E23), he saw Carter too, and Simmons and Quinn (head of HR) know about her possible connection to Reese and that is why they want Beecher around her, or Beecher is working undercover trying to find the head of HR, having said that I like the pair, they look really nice.
I kind of like the idea of Beecher being undercover investigating HR... I had not thought of that.
Only thing that makes me think that cannot be is the fact that the rest of the world thinks that Captain Lynch was head of HR and he was put in jail at the end of Season 1. I'm not sure why there would be a UC investigation of HR since most of the world thinks HR was destroyed.
Maybe he could be Internal Affairs and investigating Carter for some of her dubious reports involving the Man in a Suit?
I really do not have a handle on his character yet, but I too remain a bit suspicious!
Yes I was looking forward to that too, I saw the picture of very sweet kid as young Reese, maybe they are saving it for Reese's flashbacks while being asked about his past during the FBI interrogation.
I loved "Shadowbox." The humorous moments, the action, and especially the ending that I did not see coming. Reese looked so resigned when he was being handcuffed. I can't wait until 1/3/13 to find out what happens to Reese, Finch and Carter and Fusco.
They're not cooperating with Reese so much as they are doing what they'd do when arrested--say nothing. Simmons wasn't watching the HR boss--he said he was watching Fusco. But that could be a lie, of course.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
I think I died. Won't survive the 3 weeks until the next episode.

OMG, BEYOND WORDS...I am still in shock,

This ep is incredible!! Is it really only 42 min long? I felt like it was a movie when I was watching it!
ReplyDeleteA decent episode, but not one of the best....
ReplyDeleteRandom thoughts:

seriously? did you not watch the episode? the other 3 in suits were the ones trying to kill reese...
ReplyDeletenot sure how reese got them to all cooperate though.
I loved this one, as usual, but Interesting points and I am with you about Fusco's arcs.
ReplyDeleteMusic of this show always pleases me.
ReplyDeleteRamin Djawadi Rocks.
and Finch will be super busy falsifying so many information and creating new ID for Reese.
ReplyDeleteReese got away from Donnelly before because Donnelly could never really surround him in the hotel. He got away from Snow because Snow was there to kill him, not capture him. The ending was great, three other men in the suit probably ex-military, really Brilliant.

What abaout Reese past in this ep? Lara, and young Reese? According to press release this should be in this episode.
ReplyDeleteI think cut the scene off
ReplyDeleteBeecher being he could be Internal Affairs, very possible.
ReplyDeleteYes I was looking forward to that too, I saw the picture of very sweet kid as young Reese, maybe they are saving it for Reese's flashbacks while being asked about his past during the FBI interrogation.
ReplyDeleteThey were the bad guys helping out the crooked lender. They were the guys Reese was shooting at.
ReplyDeleteThe FBI with guns made them cooperate.
ReplyDeleteLow -key and vaguely menacing. I thought the same thing.
ReplyDeleteThey might be in the second half, or the next episode where we find out what happens to Reese, 1/3/13.
ReplyDeleteNo, they are supposed to be in a future episode.
ReplyDeleteMe too. And I think you are right.
ReplyDeleteI loved "Shadowbox." The humorous moments, the action, and especially the ending that I did not see coming. Reese looked so resigned when he was being handcuffed. I can't wait until 1/3/13 to find out what happens to Reese, Finch and Carter and Fusco.
