Spinechillingly good...every single scene was fantastic and totally essential. And I LOVED how the show was smart enough not to have Danny be the mole....well, assuming he's still not the mole, but Carrie's line 'Well, he is a Muslim' immediately confirmed what we already knew - he was the obvious choice...too obvious to be the real mole.
Well, did not see that thread tie up coming.... especially with the rest of the season and another to go... Claire Danes really knows how to knock those interrogation scenes out of the park and the one with Roya was another great one. The scene in the tunnels really ratcheted up the tension big time and was a great scene... Can't wait to see how the rest of the season will play out now....
After last week's series worst episode (by far) I was really hoping for a great improvement.... Thankfully it was better!
However I still think this show is turning into 24 with better actors. Something completely watchable, but high on implausibility and story designed as a series of high intensity moments and not organically grown.
The last search team splitting up was a very odd to me since it does not follow protocol. At least two tactical team operators would have stayed with Carrie and Nazir would not have had a single man to kill. It was just written that way to allow him to go after Carrie one more time and add some drama....
- Carrie's interrogation of Roya was great. - Roya's outburst was bound to more info than she wanted.. Soon as she started ranting I knew something would help Carrie... - I liked Carrie at the stop light scene a lot. Danes continues to shine. - Estes is looking like a bigger prick than ever. - I'm tired of the Mike wedge in Brody's family.
I guess I expected Abu Nazir to die since last episode may it clear this season is not about Nazir's impending threat so much as that threat is a vehicle to allow drama with Brody's relationship with Carrie.
With Nazir's death the finale is set up to be anti-climactic in my opinion. Now with Nazir gone I'm guessing the finale will center on their relationship more than any terrorist threat or conspiracy.... The only saving grace would be if Brody is actually killed by Estes/ Quinn causing Carrie to rage next year.
I am guessing Season 3 will center on trying to figure out who is Nazir's mole inside the CIA. Probably trying to pin it on Carrie if not Saul... also trying to frame them for Brody's death if it comes. If it does not, I hope they do not have another "is he or isn't he" season with Brody since that has run its course in my opinion.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
It was a great episode.

ReplyDeleteHoly crap was that an amazing episode!
ReplyDeleteI somehow felt a bit disappointed that Abu Nazir was killed just like that, I expected him to have a suicide vest on at the end or something.

ReplyDeleteThankfully it was better!
