ReplyDeleteI really liked this episode, I don't really ever think of Merlin having centric episodes, but this is definitely a Mordred one. Superb acting, music and direction, even more so than 5.09 imo :D

ReplyDeleteNow back to the question... it might be me who did not explain properly: so in the teaser for the upcoming episode I can see Mordred s girl (don't know her name) being dragged away by guards from the throne room... and Gwen looking at the girl in a funny/understanding way... could it be Gwen somehow sympathises with the girl, seeing as she was also dragged form that room a number of times?
Ahh, gotcha. Hmmmm, I'm not sure to be honest, I think she may a lil but she is 100% behind her husband. It's very hard to answer this one as it's a part of the episode that's embargoed :(

ReplyDeleteI have to say I was surprised by the trailer. I thought this was going to be a Mordred and Arthur episode where Arthur does something to turn Mordred against him but it seems (from the trailer) that Merlin plays just as big a part (if not bigger).

ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about the show ending, it's gonna be very strange :( There is Doctor Who and Being Human starting up pretty shortly after the finale, plus I've seen the first couple of Ripper Streets episodes which starts on the 30th. I'm enjoying that too, so hopefully the three of them will help me through, lol.

ReplyDeleteLast year I got through 'no Merlin' with Sherlock however, Sherlock's third series is only going to *start* filming in January I guess we'll be lucky if its on our screens by the summer. I don't know what I'm going to do! I've never had a series end before I've moved onto another. I've not heard of Ripper Streets, what's that about?

ReplyDeleteThis looks interesting. I'm glad at least Arthur actually has a reason for sentencing Kara. Mordred will probably try to save her, and Merlin will thwart all his attempts. Hence vengeful Mordred. All for a woman though? C'mon writers.
ReplyDeleteThe only bit I can recall is them having a meal interrupted, but the only thing we really see is a second of Gwen laughing before the interruption.

I think at this point we may get just one "I'm going off to a battle thay could be my final one" sort of kiss and that's it............If they rob us of even that...:( I don't think they even care about ppl being disappoited as long as they make their money....
ReplyDeleteagreed 100% and that is indeed a shame... i think that everyone will die in the end as i read in an interview with Katie that everyone meets their end in the final episode... so IF (big stress on the IF) we get a blessed kiss, i fear it will be one kissing a dying other... i.e. either Gwen kisses a dying Arthur or vice versa
ReplyDeleteWell in that sense we might actually get 2...a "before the battle farewell" one and "I've always loved you and always will" before dying....BUT I still have hope for the positive finale and expect a twist enabling that... :o)
ReplyDeleteI'm an Arwen fan. But as a fan of both characters, at this late stage, seeing them in their respecitve roles as King and Queen, and how they deal with the coming war, is more important to me.

Can you PLEASE change the Arwen record? You are so freakin' boring, always with the same thing every single week! How old are you, six? There are so many things to be wrapped up in just three eps left in this show--everything is coming down to the wire, still there's no magic reveal, there's no Golden Age (or a Golden Age that has lasted all of 3 years in the show and where Arthur has accomplished exactly NOTHING but making a serving girl queen and a bunch of peasants knights, because he LIKES them), Mordred's turning against Arthur and teaming up with Morgana, and the battle of Camlann--almost everyone in fandom is worried that everyone's going to be killed off and it's going to be another Blake's 7 ending. Gwen is really nothing more than a footnote.

I was simply discussing the Arwen situation with a fellow Arwen fan, and I cannot see how that should in any way affect or bother you. If you do not like it, just don't read it. The only child in this place is you, because only a child is not able to tolerate and respect other people's opinions. What might be important for you in a show, might not be what others are looking out for in the same show. I (at least) live in a democratic country, where there is freedom of expression, and I am entitled to my opinions and ALSO to express these opinions out in the open. You have ABSOLUTELY NO RIGHT to insult me as you have just did. I do not agree with what most of the other posters here write about their opinions on what is missing in the show, but I do not interfere in other people's discussions just because I do not agree with them. I let them chat and discuss, as it should be, because everyone is entitled to his opinions, and if a person encounters someone who agrees with his train of thought, who am I to tell them to stop because they are boring me??? I do not agree with Merthur fans, because in my opinion those who think there is any Merthur in this show have a very overactive imagination... yet if people are happy to see that, who am I to go tell them they are BORING me with their discussions and theories, and who am I to go tell them they are CHILDREN?? Let me give you one last advice: grow up and learn to respect others.
