  1. As much as Lizzie is being a real bitch, I kind of agree with her! Come Merideth, you wanted a family now you got one, take advantage!

  2. Owen is really falling on his sword this time and damn is Derek's sister Lizzie ever reading Meredith the riot act. I get that Meredith isn't very inclusive or sociable but we're talking about a woman whose life is just a giant collection of traumas and tragedies. So, you know, she's busy.

  3. God damn it, Mer lost her sister like 6 month ago!

  4. Whilst I'm secretly pleased that someone is giving Mer a hard time - not enough people pull her up on stuff - in this particular instance it's probably Derek the sister should be p***** off at. We know that Derek has this weird thing with his sisters, in capable of normal relationships with them but it's something Lizzie should probably address with him.
As far as I can see the plane crash itself forgotten. Besides the money aspect we are being allowed to see any visible fall out from it.

  5. What dos that have to do with this?

  6. True but Meredith and Derek have been together consistantly for 5 years, and they haven't seen much of Derek. They saw a lot of Derek during his marriage with Addison, so the variable that has changed is Meredith. Besides it's probably easier to bring this up with Meredith than risk getting into one with Derek when your only seeing him for a short time. Besides the whole you wanna be a sister that's fine act like one works cause although sisters cover for each other, they also give it to you straight

  7. Idk maybe it's because I think it's tactless or whatever to mention sisterhood to Meredith like that...

  8. I love lizzie charachter what can I say shonda is genius

  9. You're right. Lizzie should be talking to Derek about this first. I also thought Alex was unfairly vilified for the clinical trial thing too, so we're in agreement on that as well.

  10. Her complaint didn't range their five year relationship. Lizzie was specifically miffed about her lack of inclusion in the wedding and from the life of her niece. That's only from the last year and this last year has been one giant problem after another for Meredith and Derek. You can hardly blame either for not planning interstate get-togethers with family when they're both constantly dealing with one crisis after another. Hell, even their own wedding was something that they just fit into some free time they had when they weren't too busy working.

  11. but normally you turn to your family in a time of crisis. also, we only get to see snippets of their life together. I'm sure their were days or months even when they were happy and simply enjoyed "normal every day" life. I think it's rather odd that Meredith never really wanted to meet Derek's family.

  12. "but normally you turn to your family in a time of crisis."

Normally, yes. But that's on Derek, not Meredith. Meredith hardly knows Lizzie at all so you could hardly expect her to choose to lean on Lizzie instead of her makeshift family at Seattle Grace.

"I'm sure there were days or months even when they were happy and simply enjoyed "normal every day" life."
Maybe that's true but it's hardly fair to be speculating on something that may be going on off-screen and never mentioned or referenced.

  13. I believe it's on both of them. She is a part of the Shepherd family now too.

so you think they only had miserable/drama/crisis moments for all those years every single day?

    ReplyDelete
  14. Again, "all those years" doesn't count. Derek's family is interested in the time since he got married and adopted a kid.

    ReplyDelete
  15. how do you know that?

    ReplyDelete
  16. I know because that's precisely what Lizzie is complaining to Meredith about in the sneak peek.

  17. Please please please please make Lizzie/Neve a regular! PLEASE! I have seen probably 30 seconds of her character and she is already a favorite.

    ReplyDelete
  18. doesn't mean that she wasn't interested in meeting Mer before marriage/adoption.

  19. Being interested in the person your brother is dating and being angry about not having a relationship with your niece and sister-in-law are two completely different things.

  20. So? I don't understand why you're telling me this? ;)

  21. I agree with metumble.Lizzie might only complain about the lack of contact since before the wedding, but she might also complain about the lack of contact since Derek and Meredith got together. After all we never really heard anything from Derek's sister(s). Taking all the meaning from that one line Lizzie speaks in the sneak peek is just like assuming that something happened off screen - we just don't know how it really was/is, because we're not the writers. So there's really no point arguing about something you honestly have no idea about.

I say Lizzie is complaining about the overall lack of contact. The two major examples where that lack is precisely visible are the wedding and the adoption. Before that there was nothing major to miss. What was Lizzie supposed to say? "Meredith you held a bomb in your hands and almost drowned and your mother died and that friend of yours got cancer AND YOU NEVER CALLED!!" That's not really something Lizzie would be particularly interested in, since Meredith and Derek weren't even a real couple that long before the wedding (Season 4 Finale till Season 5 Finale; one year really).

I find it interesting, amusing and I must say rather refreshing that a sister of Derek's is that interested in getting to know Meredith (and Zola). Amelia never really seemed to care, we haven't heard anything from Katy or Nancy.

  22. Haven't looked at it that way but now that you mentioned it.. it is kinda rude. Looks like Lizzie's the one with "some balls".

    ReplyDelete
  23. She's got some nerves,... get it? Coz shes here for the nerve graft... anyway...

    ReplyDelete
  24. Hahaha yeah I got it that just totally made my day, thanks!! :D

  25. So sick of Christina/owen ! It'll never work !! Can we just move on now ??!!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Yes. She seems great. And since she's a doctor too, surely there's a place for her at Seattle Grace.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I'm thrilled to see Neve Campbell as Derek's sister, but I can't help wondering, if they need a live nerve and they're going to take one from her calf, why couldn't they have just taken one from Derek's calf?

  28. Okay, so Lexie died six months ago, but what about the time before that. Meredith never tried to make contacts with her in-laws.
