The CW is teaming up with the executive producers of its two hit series for a new drama series based on the UK1970s sci-fi series Tomorrow People. Vampire Diaries EP Julie Plec and Arrow EP Greg Berlanti are producing the project written by Chuck's Phil Klemmer.
Tomorrow People is the story of several young people from around the world who represent the next stage in human evolution, possessing special powers, including the ability to teleport and communicate with each other telepathically. Together they work to defeat the forces of evil.

Okay, this sounds interesting. I'd be in if it gets picked up.
ReplyDeleteI loved that show but it was made with a budget of tuppence! and the clothes and haircuts have not stood the test of time. It's going to need some serious updating!!!
ReplyDeleteThe CW are developing a lot with an eye for the coming years. According to reports Mark Pedowitz has been told to clean house, it wouldn't surprise me to see quite a few shows get the chop at the end of the season also they plan to have more shows ready as replacements so they aren't stuck airing low rated shows for longer than need be.
ReplyDeleteI look forward to seeing what Mark comes up with for next season.
OMG that makes me feel old. I loved this show
ReplyDeleteI floved this show. Hope they make it good and don't CW it too much.
ReplyDeleteI loved the Tomorrow People. The budget was so small so sets were terrible and special effects virtually nonexistent, but the actors were pretty good and the plots were fun and interesting. If they pull it off this could be a fun show for the CW.
ReplyDeleteIt seems that Mark is aware that what has succeeded is Action/Adventure and shows with a supernatural twist. Hopefully he will make certain these things are cast well and that they have some of the complexity of their top shows Arrow, dark and morally ambiguous hero, Supernatural, again a lot of grey in the story area and TVD.
ReplyDeleteSeems like CW and Mark Pedowitz are starting to get the idea on how to help the CW.
ReplyDeleteSuperhero/Supernatural/Sci-Fi/Fantasy Action/Drama shows.
Really wouldn't surprise me if the CW looked like this next season.

ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward for " Battle Royal "
ReplyDeleteOh CW just don't.
ReplyDeletei seriously Doubt The CW will Debut 6 New Shows in Fall 2013 3 or 4 maybe and 2 or 3 for midseason most lijely and 90210 will likely get the Gossip Girl Treatment and it will unlikely air on fridays it will either move to tuesdays or stay on Mondays this is my prediction for next fall so far
ReplyDeleteMondays

90210 (Shorter final season of 10-13 episodes)
Tuesdays
Supernatural
Tomorrow People
Wednesdays

Sounds like Heroes all over again...
ReplyDeleteDon't forget The Selection which is re-shooting its pilot in January 2013 for consideration.
ReplyDeleteI see The CW moving Supernatural to a different night next year to help launch another one of its shows. Hart of Dixie will anchor one night, Supernatural another, Arrow a third, and Vampire Diaries on Thursdays.
hmm I'd probably watch this, depending on who they'd cast
ReplyDeleteI have 5 new shows not 6. Secondly going by what you predict CW will also have 5 new shows. Something has to replace 90210 as it would be over in December.
ReplyDeleteAlthough I disagree with the notion that 90210 will get the One Tree Hill/Gossip Girl treatment. Really wouldn't surprise me if CW told the 90210 producers that they should start writing the March-May episodes as if the series were ending.
There not even halfway through the season and it is pulling under a million viewers. Gossip Girl went under million viewers only 4 times last season and it was around the time CW probably had already decided to give it a final season.
Through 5 episodes this season 90210 has been above a million viewers once. (Ya I know the preliminary for last night's episode is 1.24 but expect that to be adjusted down in finals. Dancing with the Stars was shown on the CW in Kansas City)
Me too used to love that show lol
ReplyDeleteInteresting idea but I'd change the title to something else.
ReplyDeleteI hope it's more like the 90's tv show and less like the 70s one.
ReplyDeleteooo sounds like my kind of show looking forward to it
