Revolution showrunner Eric Kripke doesn’t want to hold onto the NBC drama’s central mystery — What caused the blackout? — too much longer. And he’s giving some hints about what the answer might entail.
“We’re talking very seriously about revealing [what caused the blackout] before end of this season,” Kripke tells EW. The answer is something that passed muster from a physicist consulted by the producers. So what caused the blackout that is at least somewhat scientifically plausible.
“The sweet spot is to find an answer that’s actually scarier than what you were thinking,” Kripke says. “Like, ‘Oh wait, this is not even just about electricity.’ And that’s what we’re designing. I don’t see any reason to withhold it much longer.”

It might be worth holding on to until after the March return, 'cause that kind of hiatus is going to be hard to overcome. I blame cable and their awful short seasons. By the time shows come back (and you never know when that's going to be) I've practically forgotten about them and I certainly can't maintain much interest in cliffhangers.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I'm hoping the reveal is somewhere between the March return and the finale, because I want as many people as possible to come back after the ridiculous 4 month hiatus. That being said, I'm glad they're planning on revealing it sooner rather than later and I hope the reveal is plausible and interesting.
ReplyDeleteThat's exactly what worries me... Having to wait almost four months may cause a lot of viewers to lose interst, and so the ratings would drop :/ hope i'm wrong!
ReplyDeletethe hiatus is ridiculous. people are going to forget about the show. im loving it actually. very intriguing.
