Ratings Breakdown:
It was a typical Monday in the overnights, with ABC top rated and NBC poised for victory among adults 18-49 thanks to The Voice. ABC leveled off because of the modest debut of short-lived game show You Deserve It in the 9 p.m. hour on the year-ago evening.

Two-hours of Dancing With the Stars on ABC last night averaged a 10.2 rating/15 share in the overnights from 8-10 p.m., which bested competing The Voice on NBC (7.0/10) by 46 percent. But Dancing With the Stars dipped by 24 percent from its year-ago one-hour telecast (13.4/20 from 8-9 p.m. on 11/21/11). And The Voice built by 133 percent from former time period occupant The Sing Off (3.0/ 4 on 11/21/11).

Castle on ABC at 10 p.m. also topped the hour in the overnights, with a 7.0/11. And that put retention for Castle out of the 9:30 p.m. portion of Dancing With the Stars (10.4/15) at 67 percent. But third-place Revolution (4.7/ 8), which also held 67 percent of the 9:30 p.m. portion of The Voice and is about to go on a four-month hiatus, will win the time period among adults 18-49.

Over at CBS, an encore telecast of Two and a Half Men at 8:30 p.m. in place of canceled Partners scored a similar fourth-place 3.9/ 6 at 8:30 p.m., which was 26 percent below demo friendly lead-in How I Met Your Mother (#3: 5.3/ 8). Sophomore 2 Broke Girls perked up to a 6.5/10 in the overnights (#3) at 9 p.m., which was 67 percent above the Two and a Half Men repeat. And that led into compatible Mike & Molly at a third-place 6.1/ 9 at 9:30 p.m. One year earlier, however, the 9-10 p.m. Eye net combination of Two and a Half Men (10.4/15 on 11/21/11) and Mike & Molly (8.6/13) was considerably stronger, however.

At 10 p.m. on CBS was three year-old Hawaii Five-O at a second-place 6.1/10, which held 100 percent of its Mike & Molly lead-in.

Fox opened with veteran Bones at a 4.6/ 7 (#3t) at 8 p.m., followed by ailing The Mob Doctor at a mere 2.1/ 3 at 9 p.m. (#4). Comparably, The Mob Doctor was 60 percent below year-ago occupant House (5.2/ 8 on 11/21/11).

Last, of course, was The CW with its embarrassing combination of 90210 (0.8/ 1) and Gossip Girl (0.7/ 1), which officially concludes with a two-hour finale on December 17. Coming to The CW in the Monday 8 p.m. hour on January 14 (into relocated 90210) is The Carrie Diaries, the prequel to Sex and the City.

  1. I really hope the 4.6 means Bones got at least a 2.0 in demos.

  2. Why does Revolution have to fall again?

  6. Looks like revolution is in trouble and very much because of break

  7. @facebook-663624510:disqus In trouble how? It's currently NBC's top rated scripted show. There are 8 other shows that would need to be cancelled first before Revolution was in any trouble :)

  8. I really hoped Revolution would rise a bit, but holding steady is also good. I really hope next week for the midseason finale the rating are slightly higher and that people will tune in after 4 month Hiatus....

  9. I doubt it. I does pretty much the same as all the other ABC 10 PM shows and has a weaker lead-in.Plus, it's in syndication,so it brings more money.
