Poor RIck. Don't think you can just get over a psychotic break, though. And the baby is so cute! And yay, Carol!
And noooooooooooooo, Maggie and Glenn.
Andrea had me when she killed the zombie, but then she lost me when she slept with the governor. Are you serious with that? What possessed you to think that was a good idea?
i betcha Andrea is so happy that she stayed in woodbury...she got to have sex in a "bed" instead in a "car", lol......so happy bout Carol..i teared up when we saw her.....and also so happy that Michonne found the prison and brought them the baby supplies.....☺....
i did not like capture of M&G...hope they survive...but happy that now Rick will have Michonne's help in invading woodbury along with Daryl...they will be a Fierce Killing Machine....and when will we ever get the brothers reunion....maybe in the mid-season Finale....☺....
Who are the governor and Merle looking for in Rick's group? I thought they said Andrew, but that doesn't make any sense. Did I miss something here, or is the answer something yet to come? (no spoilers please)
No....Merle was out looking for Michonne to kill her in this epi.....the Gov doesnt know too much bout Rick's group cause Andrea has been away from them for 8 months now...☺...
but things will change now that they have Maggie & Glenn as prisoners...☺....
I'm loving this season more and more as it goes on!
The prison has brought on some great character arcs. Like Rick's breakdown, Carl offing Lori, Hershel losing his leg, Daryl stepping up and T-Dog got to speak... before he died! XD
Watching Rick's melt down last week was intense in an action sense, but seeing tonight's mental collapse was emotionally draining and intense in an entirely different way!
Is it just me or do you think if Andrea was blindfolded in a room of 1000 men she would head straight to the biggest douchebag of the bunch? The woman attracts more a$$holes with issues than a proctologist having a 50% off sale.
Michonne was swinging for her life, but damn! Wouldn't an experienced killer know not to slash at the stomach of a walker? Gross! Cut it off at the knees and roll away, then it would have fallen without spraying undead innards all over her! I guess the walker spray let Michonne learn about another form of camouflage against walkers in the end.
Merle is such a fun duplicitous bad-ass character!
The funny thing is I'm not sure who is scarier Merle or Michael Rooker! I think if Merle were to be in a fight against Rooker, he might beat Merle's ass! XD
Another awesome episode!
I like these character centered episodes so much, even if I hate where some of the characters are going. I'm looking at you Andrea! XD
I think Rick processed a lot, moved on past his initial wave of "I wanna kill 'em all" flush of rage. But he's still far from sane, and I think he realized that when he was speaking with Lori, and his way back to sanity is through protecting the baby.
Damn it, I've been waiting for a reunion of Merle with some of the rest of the group, but I didn't want Glenn and Maggie captured. I was hoping Michonne would help, but it makes sense they have her be the explanation of where Glenn/Maggie went and that Merle is alive and that Andrea is alive and get them to know that Woodbury is near.
Michonne = bad ass. Anyone whose read the comics knows this, but it still must be said. Rick + Daryl + Michonne = no zombie left.
I'm very curious with Daryl's now friendship/trust of Rick, how his loyalty will lie when it comes to Merle. Pretty sure there will be that initial "my brother's alive!" scenario, but I think he'll realize that Rick is the better man even in his insanity. Still, will be very cool to see play out.
Andrea and Woodbury was fairly boring. Wish she would be cooler like her comic self. Oh well, with everything else that's going right on the show, one bad nut is pretty good.
i agree about Daryl and Merle. I've said from the start that though Daryl is by far my favorite, i do think he'll back Merle at first, if only because it's been 40 years ingrained in him. however, i think he'll end up choosing the group. like we found out in this episode, as kids while Merle tried to keep Daryl secluded, when Merle wasn't around Daryl would play with the other kids . the difference b/t then and now, i think, is when Merle was around if Daryl tried to stand up to him, the other kids would run, but now, this group will stand with him, no matter the cost.
as soon as Daryl realizes this, Merle is SOOOOOOO done...
I loved everything about it! Glad to know Carol's alive Finally Michonne ran into the prison! I've been wating for this moment the entire season! Andrea always makes things more complicated, but i still like her though
Perfect way to describe it. Now there are people who will be willing to stand up for Daryl and against Merle, notably Carol and undoubtedly the rest of the group, if it does end up coming down to that.
i was so glad they kept the "phone" storyline in only 1 epi...cause they just dragged it out in the comics.....Rick would talk to that phone all the time, he would carry it with him and it wasnt even connected, lol...yeah, he went super Loco, lol.......i wonder if he's gonna give the baby's name as Judith, like Lori did in the comics...☺....
In a lot of ways I think Daryl looks at Rick as the brother he never had. They have a bond forged through friendship and combat. While it may not be a shared blood running through them, they have shared bloody battles and adventures.....
I think Merle would have a hard time breaking that permanently. He may get Daryl to question himself and question things, but at this point I think Daryl knows who Rick is, he will see who Merle is quickly, and maybe more importantly he now knows what brotherhood really is.
Solid ep with good setup for next week and on. Worried for Maggie/Glenn as I wonder if they will serve to befall the "treatment" that Rick/Michonne endured in the comics - I hope not. I hope that they don't keep the phone thing going as it dragged on too long in the comics. Looking to get MIchonne in with the gang finally and am anxious to see the reunion/aftermath of the Dixon boys...
That baby looked like a 4-month old. I wish Glenn had shot Merle when he had the chance. We know the phone is not working because of Hershel's expression when he picked up the receiver. I don't think the phone storyline is over. It's a good technique to hear Rick's inner thoughts. Andrea's really horny. Seeing the cushiness of Woodbury brings momentary relief from the starkness we've been through. Awesome episode.
When Daryl was crouched in the hallway pounding Carol's knife into the floor, do you think he was agitated because he was angry/brooding about Carol being dead in general, or that he was anticipating that Walker Carol was behind that closed door and he was working up to face putting her down?
Carol!!!! You are back, you are back!! The music in that scene was seriously missleading and for a minute there I truly believed she was going to be sophia'd, but oh lawdy, she was alive! Mushy Daryl is so tender!
awesome, awesome episode. the ending was slow and i was hating the focus on merle but then it got really good. the rick scenes killed me, although i sort of suspected the twist witht he phone call, but was not really sure so was really nice to see it played out. I also loved his scenes with Carl and the baby afterwards. Amazing scene with Daryl and Carl. Then... I did not care for Michone until this episode but she was amazing on this one. I just thought it was a bit too convenient that she could find the prison like that. But i won't complain, i desperately wanted the two storylines to interesect. The last scene, jeez! But i hate merle with passion. Please walking dead, do not kill off maggie or even glee... We need a decent, happy couple and maggie is so awesome. Please, let her stay! And you don't need to cut her a leg or an arm either! Also, really happy that carol is back
i had read that he was thinking bout the first one....but that second one is interesting bout having to kill the walker carol...never thought bout that one.....thats how comic carol died, she let a walker bite her so she can die, then she turned and andrea had to shoot her...☺...
I thought it was pretty awesome, although the Merle/Michonne chase felt a bit disjointed.
I liked Andrea last season but she's frustrating me this season. Still, it will be interesting to see her make the choice between those she feel abandoned her and the Governor.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Poor Rick. Phone rings and they won't tell him who it is and they hang up. And he can't #69 because it's the last working ROTARY phone on the planet!
ReplyDeleteLOL.
ReplyDeletePoor RIck. Don't think you can just get over a psychotic break, though. And the baby is so cute! And yay, Carol!

ReplyDeleteDaryl. (Well at least Merle is, not sure about the governor.)
ReplyDeleteNo....Merle was out looking for Michonne to kill her in this epi.....the Gov doesnt know too much bout Rick's group cause Andrea has been away from them for 8 months now...☺...
ReplyDeletebut things will change now that they have Maggie & Glenn as prisoners...☺....
OK, thanks. I knew Merle was looking for Daryl but twice when Merle was talking to the governor (last week too), I thought they said something else.
ReplyDeleteThanks. I'm scared for Maggie and Glenn.
ReplyDeleteI'm loving this season more and more as it goes on!

The Governor asked "they know Andrea?" and I think that is where you thought you heard "Andrew"....

I'm very interested in how Daryl's new found "humanity" (feelings for Carol, bonding with baby) will affect him when he sees Merle.
ReplyDeletei agree about Daryl and Merle. Such great season so far, awesome moments...............and Carol is back.........Michonne is badass and find the Rich's group cooooooooool.
ReplyDeletePerfect way to describe it. Now there are people who will be willing to stand up for Daryl and against Merle, notably Carol and undoubtedly the rest of the group, if it does end up coming down to that.
ReplyDeleteAndrea is awful and the Governor is a horrid man - but wow the actor who plays him is oddly attractive lol

ReplyDeleteIt seemed like they'd finished with the phone thing by the end of this episode. It was a nice touch, but no need to carry it on.
