Well, that was the most depressing episode I've watched. I didn't like Lori all that much, but that was sad. And I'm glad they saved the baby, although I don't know how they're going to feed it. Lori could have breastfed, but do they have formula?
I almost made it through the episode without crying but Rick ruined me. His grief was so affecting. I can't stop crying!!!! He curled up like a baby. And poor Carl. Amazing performances by Andrew Lincoln and Chandler Riggs.
I didn't love Lori, but it's kind of sad to have both her and Shane gone now. And T-Dog too. I still miss Dale. Guess the Shane/Rick duel was for nothing. I have to say though that Maggie shouldn't have let Carl kill his mom. She should have been the adult there and said no to Carl when he said he wanted to do it. That's going to scar the kid.
Poor T-Dog, they finally give him material this season and lines and kills and a bunch of stuff... only to kill him off. I guess that's why he got more stuff to do, still sucks that he's gone. Don't think Carol's dead, even though they seem to think so, and for some reason it was a surprise to me that it was that guy who started the chaos... definitely expected him to have died already.
Lori, while she was easily the stupidest person on the show, she was better this season and a bit sad how she died. Although I did expect her to die more like her comic book version, but this one should definitely showcase Rick's descent into darkness. Look forward to what's to come.
Also, Herschel is a fucking bad ass even with only 1 foot.
wow. a total gut wrencher of an ep... I guessed that Lori might be one of the 2 deaths that was hinted at, but I was expecting the baby to be the other and not T-Dog.. Bummer just as his character was getting more to do and possibly become more interesting, but at least he went out fighting and gave Carol a chance... wasn't expecting that the other convict that tried to off Rick before would be the mischief maker especially when he was trapped in that courtyard full of walkers (and you'd think that he'd try to recruit the other 2 that were left), and thought that whoever was watching Carol before would be the perpetrator. Well it looks like the merry little band just lost 2 and might've just gained 2 with Axel and Oscar. Surprised that they didn't find Carol... Still a little pissed at Andrea falling so easily under the Governor's spell, but I guess it's easy to see after over a year of nonstop death and depression that anyone might when it sounds like a garden of Eden. I can't wait to see what happens next.
Too bad this episode had such little drama, huh? Ack!!
This was an incredible episode for so many reasons, but after it I feel like I have lived through an apocalypse! Wow, I'm spent!
At least The Grime had their one moment of pure bliss in the prison courtyard where they all looked at each other smiling right before the walkers came in. Just like FRINGE, Whenever someone is too happy on this show you know they will get smacked down to reality all too soon.
Hear that Andrea? Learn your lesson!
Feeling happy in Woodbury? So content you can flirt with Merle.... Merle? Seriously?
Yes, it's time for you to get knocked back to reality and realize what a dumb ass you're being.
When someone speaks as infrequently as Michonne it may be wise to head her few chosen words... Ya think? Maybe you should boink Merle in a Humvee or something , does that sound fun? Argggh! Andrea is infuriating.
IF I were Michonne I think I would kill Andrea, let her turn, then remove her jaw and arms and make her myp et and get the hell outta Woodbury. Added, bonus of Andrea being a pet walker is that no one has to listen to her speak ever again XD
So let me get this straight, two seasons of being the black guy in the background barely getting lines and when T-Dog finally starts getting some face time he gets killed? XD
(Killed brutally too may I add! That was some serious special FX gore perfection!) Yeah that sounds about right for this program, but damn!
I would have loved to see the group finally meet up with Merle and seen the T-Dog vs Merle confrontation!
I like that Daryl has found himself a tuner to wrench on his bike XD
Well, if D ever lets Axel near his bike that is.....
This was some seriously heavy drama - Season finale level of drama and this is only a handful of episodes into this season! Wow! Just, wow!
I don;t wish her to be dead exactly, but she has always been annoying. I guess this year she has gotten a little better since she was the secondary doctor in theory.
I agree about Lori.... I was never a fan, but she along with Shane was a good chaos factor always makign things harder than they should be.
I think Carl had to kill his mom personally. He needed to take ownership of that situation. In this world of TWD every member of a group needs to be prepared to kill their loved ones so they do not become walkers when they die.
Plus, being Rick's kid they had to show that Carl was able to step up and make the tough choices, just like his dad.
While it feels mean to say it but I'm glad Lori is dead and gone from the show. Not because she was annoying as hell but because this gives a heck of a story for Rick and Carl, the father-son duo I've grown to love since reading the comics.
Also, I'm glad that Darabont is gone from the show, I could imagine this season being more boring if he would've stayed. According to Callies, Darabont wasn't sure if he ever wanted to kill Lori off. Could you imagine being into the 6th season and Lori still being around????
I'm stuck between the words "WOW" and "***** hell!" and I'm just a little evaporized by all this incredible stuff. I knew it because T-Dog has talked way too much this season. That was alarming. But Lori's death.... better than the comics's one. I guess she was the most hated character out there last season (and they were right because I couldn't really stand her) but in the last three episodes you could feel that the fans we're not alone. She died with a lot of regrets over her shoulders. Horrible death and I felt really bad for her and Carl. I think I'm in love with Michonne. And in all this situation, I couldn't care less about Andrea and her chat with the Governor. S-p-e-c-t-a-c-u-l-a-r!
I watch more tv shows than anyone I know but I do not remember the last time I felt like this watching an episode of anything. I was crying like a baby. This was just... I don't even know how to comment it yet. It was the best episode of any show I remember watching in the last couple of years. Just wow. I could not believe what they did.
Also, the fact that award shows continue to ignore andew lincoln's performance is a travesty of epic proportions. I mean... the last scene alone should win him awards
Holly freaking shit, i'm so worn out by this episode that I just have to try to look for a silverlining. Maybe this will change the baby's ultimate fate, that would soften the blow in the long run.
And were is Carol??? CAROL!!!!! is the going missing a family thing now? Please be okay Carol, it would be a shame that she just died now that she was becoming a real asset of the group :(
Lori's death was a great scene, and it was nice to see T-Dog get a few lines and die a hero's death too...although it will all have been for nothing if Carol turns up dead now...
thats great....are you reading the comics?....u can get the "TWD Compendium One"...its bout 1000 pages and it covers the first 8 books.....u can find it at Amazon or Ebay....it costs like $30......its a Great read...Lots of changes from the comics to the tv show.....☺....
I agree with you about Andrea. I've been a supporter of hers from the beginning even amidst a lot of hate but I can't bring myself to defend how completely lunkheaded she has become. Michonne (who has been awesome so far) is a saint for putting up with her idiocy.
In the earlier seasons I could deal with her most of the time, but it started changing when she started cozying up with Shane I guess. With her only being alive because of Michonne's skills and judgement it seems so much worse to just ignore Michonne or even play her to a degree. I cannot abide that level of stupidity.
What an intense episode! Loved it. Will watch this one again. I haven't felt this feeling since Barnageddon! I loved the shot of Carl standing there silently after having just shot his mother, while his father is rolling around in the foetal position. Amazing acting from all concerned. Just. Bravo.
I think that had more to do with a kid killing an actual human being on television than anything. They've been real touchy with that so far with Carl. It didn't surprise me when they swapped him killing human Shane with Rick, then Carl killed zombie Shane.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ReplyDeleteAnd poor Carl. I felt so bad for him.
That was pretty good.
Finally. It only took 2.2ish seasons to kill her off. :D
ReplyDeleteCARL shot his mom! Sounds like a song, lol.
ReplyDeleteOMG...i ran out of tissues....and im still crying.... :-(
ReplyDeleteWow! I was more of an emotional mess than Rick at the end.
ReplyDeleteYeah, so was I, if by emotional mess you mean being invigorated by the episode, lol.
ReplyDeleteI almost made it through the episode without crying but Rick ruined me. His grief was so affecting. I can't stop crying!!!! He curled up like a baby. And poor Carl. Amazing performances by Andrew Lincoln and Chandler Riggs.
ReplyDeleteI'm still crying too! Rick's reaction left me speechless.
ReplyDeleteWhat happened to Carol? Did I miss something?
ReplyDeleteit didnt show her actually get shot something may be up with that ?
ReplyDeleteHoly Shit, Batman. That is some of the most damn intense viewing I've seen on my little box.
ReplyDeleteI am without speech.
ReplyDeleteLet's hope we start adding some players or else it will be GAME OVER soon.
ReplyDeletei remember how I felt when I was 11 and had to put my DOG down. Can't even begin to imagine what's going on in Carl's noggin.
This is going to be some out of this world prose spewing forth from the writers.
Wow fantastic episode.

She escaped out the door and we didn't see her after. I suspect she'll turn back up next week.
ReplyDeleteAbout damn time Lori got killed off. She's been a blight on the series since the second episode.
ReplyDeletewow. a total gut wrencher of an ep... I guessed that Lori might be one of the 2 deaths that was hinted at, but I was expecting the baby to be the other and not T-Dog.. ReplyDeleteGood God, I feel gutted after this one. I even started to tear up, especially when Rick started.
ReplyDeleteGahhhh :|

She went and lost her head wrap... Poor Carol. XD
ReplyDeleteI don;t wish her to be dead exactly, but she has always been annoying. I guess this year she has gotten a little better since she was the secondary doctor in theory.
She will turn up alive though I'm betting.....
I agree about Lori....

I thought that head wrap was to keep the guys from Rekall from finding her!
ReplyDeletethe executive producers confirmed that she is in fact dead.
ReplyDeleteNot showing her die was not the same trick as it was with the prisoner who went all American Psycho on Rick

ReplyDeletesame here! :(
ReplyDeleteI can't decide what I'm more - sad or surprised how much I'm sad. That's all I can say this week.
ReplyDeleteHolly freaking shit, i'm so worn out by this episode that I just have to try to look for a silverlining. Maybe this will change the baby's ultimate fate, that would soften the blow in the long run.

Holy crap. That was finale-scale epic. Amazing how this show still manages to surprise me with how dark it can go.
ReplyDeletei still find myself coming back here to this thread to re-read the comments... that's how awesome that episode was

ReplyDeleteI have to disagree about Carl. New world or not, he's too young. Lori would have been horrified if she knew that Maggie let Carl put her down.

Yeah, she's not dead. there were meant to be two deaths this episode, so I think Carol is safe... well, not dead anyway.
ReplyDeleteWhat an intense episode! Loved it. Will watch this one again. I haven't felt this feeling since Barnageddon!
