I loved that episode! Glad Jake moved on from his ex-wife and proposed to Addison! So glad they're engaged. (And damn, that was a big ring. Awesome choice!0
And I didn't think Jake was threatening his daughter's boyfriend's life. I just thought he was threatening to get him fired or something. That was an overreaction there. And I'm guessing it goes well with the social worker's visit.
OMG this was seriously such an emotionally powerful episode, I seriously cried at the end when he had to let go. But i loved the line Addison had, "It will be fine." She never lost faith, she knew Jake wasn't going to leave her and that her, him, and Henry can all live together happy! I hope he adopts Henry, it would just be the most perfect ending to the series.. He is such a decent guy, really SR wrote him really well!
Don't hate me, but the first moment I saw his ex-wife I was: Is Izzy all over again? I mean, It wasn't a ghost, but it seems... Something more. I honestly didn't like it. Nothing. It seemed too forced to be perfect. Addison complete lack of doubt, even when it's about her son. It just didn't feel right
What a great episode! I really like Addison & Jake's relationship. This episode showed how much Addison has grown as a character. She's finally happy and secure. And, this episode also showed how Jake, while not perfect, is the perfect man for her. They complement each other well. This episode showed how her strengths help his weak spots. We already saw in previous episodes how his strengths help her weaknesses. It's a really fitting ending for the Addison character, especially thinking back to how she began. I've been doing a marathon to catch up on these episodes, since it's the last season. This is probably my favorite episode so far for this season.
Call me dumb or...judgemental or whatever -- but I honestly thought that Jake lied to all of them and that she (his ex-wife) was alive living in some recovery-center all along; up until the very last scene of them. The episode was just flawless. And I'm not really talking about the last scene...which was beautiful and all. BUT there was so many amazing scenes like Addison standing up to the cukoo-patient of his then their talk about how she believes everything will be fine AND the last scene with Violet, Dana and her husband -- so moving, got me really inspired about my own relationships! Amazing writing, probably by fav episode so far this year (have to watch 6.08 though).
what a perfect episode. this season is probably private practice's best season (apart from the sam's episode and i also didn't like the 100th episode very much, despite having its moments). Addison and Jake's relationship is incredible. I agree with what playdoc said, they complement each other despite none of them being perfect. I hope shonda doesn't pull a trick and just let them be happy, i would hate her to come back to sam after this.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

It was nice having two episodes in one week!
