Just an ok ep for me. Although I do like the return of Taryn Manning, the setup and eventual reunion with Mama McGarrett felt a bit too heavy handed in it's execution. Still an entertaining ep.
An OK episode for me ! I love seeing more Kono, especially on that situation ! Great scenes, and Grace Park was awesome !
I was expecting a totally different reunion between Doris and Mary ! I think it was too fast, not enough developped ! I prefered Doris on the others episodes !
But it was great to see Mary again !
No Catherine :((( But I guess she couldn't have done anything on that episode, so its maybe better not to see her instead of seeing her doing nothing important, like we already had :)
Are you talking about Doris or about Christine L ? I don't think Doris was playing comedy, if she had cried only when Steve was there, but even alone she did seem well, and she probable felt guilte about what Mary was going through However, if you talk about Christine, yeah, I do think she forced a little on her acting :) I prefered Christine L on the other episodes :)
I think that it was both. Doris didn't seem that emotional meeting Steve and now she turns on the water fountain for Mary? Okay she left when Mary was 10 and was away practically her entire life, etc but I didn't really buy the excessive crying. Of course we don't know if it was Christine L's acting choice or the writers wrote the character like that. But yeah, I did prefer Christine L in other episodes
I think with Steve the reveal was different. She had to be more matter of fact with him. He wouldn't let her show emotion. We don't know if she cried when he wasn't around though. However with Mary there was more a build and an anticipation for the meeting. Her emotions got the better of her when thinking about her little girl all grown up. Up until Mary arrived, Mary didn't even know her mom was alive. I think Doris was more scared about meeting Mary again then she was about Steve.
I have Thanksgiving company in the house. I was watching on my DVR. Had backed up because I missed the first 10 minutes.... and JUST as I reached the point where the bad guys brought the youngest sone downstairs I discovered MY MOTHER HAD STOPPED THE RECORDING! So I have to wait until CBS uploads the episode. Argh!
Up until that point it was an awesome episode. Really liked the gentleman that was playing Steve's little sister's charge. I've seen some actors, in scenes like the cemetery scene, who just sit quietly. They figure they're not the focus of the scene so they do nothing, don't dra attention but they aren't part of the scene. This gentleman was still part of the scene and still working; conveying his compassion for Steve's sister. I liked it.
Now all I have to do is find those last minutes. :-)
Amazing episode! Nice storyline that keeps you at the edge of your seat the whole time. Chin doubting himself after he send kono towards the house is probabely going to be referred to again later on this season since he crossed a dark line in the season opener. Kono's fight at the end was superb as always and one of the best moments of season 3 so far, I loved the look on their faces after she beat that guy to a pulp, you could tell they were all thinking ''this is a girl you just don't mess with''. Looking forward to next weeks episode!
I have to say I liked the episode as well thought we would find out about Doris also but loved the reunion in the end :) also loved the song Criminal it's called. I'm glad they made it a Kono storyline reminded me a bit like Touch with the Autistic boy but I love anything that director Larry Teng throws at us he always does great episdoes :) I thought Chin would've told Kono the truth about that night when Malia died judging that he was worried about her when she was held hostage but I hope it'll be mentioned soon
Oh also a bit of trivia that was actually all Alex when he rescued Kono Taryn said that on her Twitter account. It looks like they are allowing him to do stunts again https://twitter.com/TarynManning/status/270782643531051009
Loved this episode. The mother/daughter reunion was very nice - it was good to see some family stuff away from the whole Wo Fat business. But the case was awesome - always like seeing Kono in the spotlight and her fight scene was great and it gave Chin some good moments as well. I watch H50 for their crazy stunts and Steve under the truck was great but my favourite was when Kono and Chin jumped through the windows to grab the hacker - brilliant!

omg i thought it was the best of the season Kono can really kick ass loved it

ReplyDeletecompared to last week this one was so so. I loved the ending though with Kono kicking ass, and the reunion with the mother, I really liked the old guy
ReplyDeleteI think the lesson in this episode is do not piss off Kono. Also I do not trust mama McGarrett she is up to no good and I want to know what it is.

The old guy seemed familiar...
ReplyDeleteI liked the episode although the whole Doris thing seemed forced I dunno. I just don't trust her at all!
ReplyDelete.this episode was to fast the only awesome thin Kono fighting ...WOOOW ,.fast,.specified and almost deadly

ReplyDeleteThe point is that when she cried, she was alone, so why did she do all this if she wasn't truly affected by seeing Mary again ?
ReplyDeleteBut you're right, she reacted really differently for both of them ... that's strange
I also prefered C.L. in the other episodes
It was one of the best and most exciting episode this season on H50! The raw emotions, impeccably timed action scenes and entertaining drama!

Yep, I agree completely
ReplyDeleteThe truck stunt? Still not as good as the clawed copter in the premiere.
