Loved it. Really liked that this was more Hank Centric and allowed him to save an innocent man and put down the true killer in this case. Loved the multiple Wesen in the jail that morphed as they walked thru. And talk about a killer awkward reveal at the end!!!! Poor Monroe, stuck in the middle of this one.....
Not your typical episode. I like how it combined good old detective work to solve a case and save a man's life. The race-against-the-clock chase in this situation added just the right amount of tension.
I knew that title meant human's were getting eaten.
I LOVED this episode. The case was very different and really interesting and seemed to me to further cement Nick and Hank in this new relationship of Cop & Grimm.
I'm starting to miss Monroe. I hope, when we come back from the holidays that we'll be seeing him more. But I did really feel for him when he stepped out and saw Juliette kissing Renard. I hope it doesn't take him too long to get that potion mixed up.
What's annoying though is that Juliette seems to completely forgotten that she had a burgeoning storyline of her own where she was investigating all these little details...not the least of which was a woman who knew way more about what happened to her than she could possibly know. I don't remember her exact words but she basically said the cat scratch was the source of her issues so why is Juliette still acting like it's absolutely nothing. Seriously, they're taking me from luke warm on the character to annoyed every time she steps on screen.
very climatic episode strength more the relation between hank and nick fixing mistakes and creating more HAVOC.talking about juliette and renard was poison involved will had some toll when she knows the truth about nick and how her reaction will be ..???
Excellent episode. Predictable that they'd save the guy last minute, but I liked the way they tied the case to a Dahmer-like perp. The foot in the soup was gruesome!
Juliette is just so Spock-logical that she blocks every bit of evidence that weird things are happening. At this point, I no longer think she is a good match for Nick. He needs someone he can talk to when he comes home, and he's right that Juliette just wouldn't understand. I don't know if you change a mindset like that, that neatly explains away everything that hints of supernatural. By the way, I did not like the opening scene with the prescient girlfriend who figured out from a moment of silence that there's "another man." A lazy gimmick on the part of the showrunners, I thought.
So I can imagine Nick giving up on Juliette, but Renard will, too, when he gets Monroe's potion. Then what?
"Oh, boy!" :D The best part of the entire episode was the ending - what a plot twist and a cliffhanger! Can't wait to see what Monroe tells Nick in the next ep!
Btw, did anyone else recognize the actor, who played the accused, from "Boomtown" and "Windfall"?
I haven't been following spoilers for this show, so I don't know if it was known beforehand, but I was so happy to see the Juliette/Renard secret sort-of come out. I wonder how long it will be before Monroe finds out that Renard works with Nick. Maybe he'll learn that he's the royal.
My nitpick is why Nick kept pushing Juliette on what she remembered about that night if he wasn't going to fill in the gaps. Of course that conversation wasn't going to go well.
«I'm starting to miss Monroe. I hope, when we come back from the holidays that we'll be seeing him more. »
Agree 100% here :( Earlier this season I was ssooo happy and excited that Hank finally learned all the truth and with the promo clip of Hank Nick and Monroe that they show us every week, i was excited about seeing them working together as a trio, to see the dynamic...to see what it would change in the Nick/Monroe dynamic...etc and.......nothing at all (or almost)
I hope when Rosalee come back and take the shop back, we can have the trio they keep teasing us with every week. If they keep Nick/Hank together and keep Monroe/Rosalee together at the shop even after Rosalee come back, I'll be VERY disapointed :( The Nick/Monroe interactions and friendship are what made me fall in love with the show
I loved getting to know Hank a little more this episode. It was also a very cool, if not a little creepy, case. Juliette's starting to bug me though, so I hope they reinvigorate her character soon. And I really felt the lack of Monroe in this episode. Just because Nick has Hank to help him out these days doesn't mean Monroe can disappear :(
I miss Monroe so much. Hank is not filling the spot, with episodes focused on him and Nick the energy level is so low. I don't know how this show manages to function with such an uncharismatic lead. I guess he just comes off as a nice guy and I forgive the rest, but seriously dull without Monroe having the personality. And Juillette can't even make a magic-induced obsessive affair interesting. The plot was good, the action was decent. But I am dying for some characters with life. They wasted Jamie McShane.
I agree with all of your points here. I'm about to yell out a loud "Amen!" after reading. ;) Missing Monroe - check. Juliette character consistency needed - check.
Monroe being in his own isolated story, is just not working for me. I like the show better when Monroe is helping Nick out with the latest wesen-related crime. Now that Hank is in on the secret, I'd like to see more teamwork, with Monroe working with both Nick and Hank. Hank is not different or interesting enough a character to stick only Nick and Hank in an entire episode together. It's much more interesting when Monroe is the one partnering with Nick, or at least have him be part of the team and involved more.
Glad to see Rosalee for a bit. I'm looking forward to her return.
Juliette was slightly more interesting as the spanish interpretor a few episodes ago. If the show ends this obsession storyline with Juliette/Renard soon, and let Juliette follow her investigative train of thought about the cat scratch, then there might be hope for her character. They need to show that Juliette can be smart, and capable of opening her mind. I remember her investigating strange blood samples some time ago. Let her connect the dots herself, and accept it. She needs to earn her spot as Nick's love interest, and show that she's capable of supporting him as a Grimm too.
Thanks for your comments. They crossed three episodes. Did you get to do a marathon. I did a season one marathon just before Halloween. It was awesome and I converted a friend.
Yes, I did do a marathon. I was behind, since I usually watch Fringe at that time. But, I did want to catch up on Grimm too. It occurred to me after the second episode, and commenting, that I agreed with all of your comments. You make good comment posts, so I felt I had to say something. :)

all this kissing with juliette and the capt is getting under my nerves already...UGH...☺...
ReplyDeleteMade me laugh, made me cry and... made me want to vomit! All in all, awesome episode.
