    Brilliant acting by Joshua. I always love the LSD references by Walter, it was great to see Nina again, and William Bell. Well, his hand at least lol. It's really sad that Fringe is ending so soon, but hats off to the entire cast and crew for a wild and crazy home stretch!

    amazing ep like always. Great moments with Walter and Nina, and Peter becoming "Observer-fied" - fantastic scene. I liked the parallel that both Walter and Peter both have stuff in their heads that make them more intelligent/efficient in accomplishing their goals, but are robbing them of what makes them "them" and raises the conundrum of whether you'd gamble on accomplishing your goal if the ultimate cost was yourself and your humanity...

    Okay, where's the "Blew Me Away" button, cause I totally need one right now!

    I literally spent the entire episode with my hands clasped in front of my face repeating "Oh my God!" over and over and over. I couldn't even sit down! I'm, seriously, not even coherent right now. Just thinking about it, all I can say is "Oh God, Oh God, Oh God!".

    And the ending?

    Me: "NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! HIS HAIR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

    Not one, single episode has ever left me feeling this way. I'm mean, sure, the surprise endings of certain episodes (There's More Than One of Everything, Over There Part 2, The Day We Died) definitely left me speechless before. But an entire episode? Nope, no way. No TV show has ever done this to me which just depresses me like hell since there's only 6 more left! I don't know how I'm gonna survive. :-(

    So I had to vote for Awesome this week... why? Well cause Fringe is always awesome, even when it's a lighter episode (until that somber as f*** ending) is awesome and kicks the crap out of most other shows on TV.


    Peter... please don't lose yourself... don't lose Olivia... just... don't...


    And poor Walter, fearing what he might become. The Olivia/Nina reunion was nice, and I always like a nice little moment with Walter/Astrid like the one at the end.

    Awesome episode for me.

    I always prefer the heavy myth arc episodes and this was no exception.
    A lot transpired actually for a fairly low-key episode.

    - We got to see Peter's smile and acknowledgement of the Etta Poster after he had managed to alter the timeline. So it seems more likely the Etta "resist" poster is somehow tied to either Peter and/ or the altering of time events.

    - We got an inside look at how the Observers see time and how they are able to forecast. Not entirely dissimilar to The Plateau where Milo could calculate probabilities and future events.

    - We got more of Bell's back story to fill in the gaps between Last season's finale and our first peeks at 2035 in .Letters of Transit'.I do wonder a little bit if Walter's grasp on Bell's motives is entirely accurate though....

    - We got exact answers to why Walter needed Bell's hand.

    - The return of the beacon... and it brought a friend! XD
    I always suspected the beacon was going to be the weapon against the Cueballs, now we got a couple hints at how it will work being that there are two and we learned more on what exactly they do.

    - The return of Nina!
    Wheels was awesome as Walter's ground, and it was nice for her to get confirmation of Bell's love for her after Walter's earlier remarks.

    - I'm also happy Peter spelled out Windmark's name so I finally can stop switching back and forth between Widmark and Windmark! XD

    Seeing Peter falling more and more into Observer characteristics as the episode went on was a bit creepy, but when he went full on baldie reading Olivia's mind and saying what she was-saying it was awesome! I really am enjoying Peter's evolution after he implanted the Observer tech! As ever though, Olivia was getting intuitions something was up and I don;t think she is enjoying this new Peter as much as me! XD



    This was a great set up episode for the back half of the finale season! Walter at odds with himself, Peter not himself, and Olivia beside herself! Everything is pulling together and building to a possible brilliant series finale. I just hope the series finale will be better than last year's finale which was a complete and utter let down to me.

    I swear last episode I guessed that the next episode will end when Peter hair begins to fall!!! The only difference is that I thought it would happened in the shower! Well, let my now share my guesses: I think the way to destroy the observers is to make all of them empaths, just like the kid from 5.06 and just like September - you remember they wanted to get rid of him because he was very occupied with his emotions? Well, by the observers reactions to those empaths I think they're their biggest weapon. And I think Peter is going to be their biggest weapon :)

    really??? i saw this coming two weeks ago... my theory is that peter will become the 1st observer/or perhaps a younger windmark? (they have similar face structures) and that the cortexephan childrens decendents make up the rest of the observers - and that peter will have actually started it( the whole observer problem/group) in a kind of full circle effect. - whether or not im right about all that - i figured that peter was going all oberserver-y for sure when put that chip in his head.

    Peter: I knew it was coming, but still, I kept saying OMG everytime Peter did something observer like. And at the end OMG!!!!!!!!!!!! his hair. I was wondering if they would go there. I´m glad they did.


    Nina: Finally!! I loved hearing more about her and Bell. I always wondered if they had something romantic or not. I figured it had been onesided. I'm glad that Walter went to her to tell her he found out Bell did love her.


    Walter: I am really worried. I don't think he's going to turn into Walternate, but every time he mentions needing Peter to save himself from becoming that man, we get a scene of Peter acting like an observer. So I'm worried he might loose himself because Peter is loosing himself.


    and poor Olive, she sees just how far down Peter has gone and there's nothing she can do know. I was SO glad she realised what he did. Because he really did sound like an observer by then.

    Absolutely amazing! Joshua Jackson did a brilliant job becoming an Observer. It was just EERIE. The flesh eating toxin was scary as well. I can't wait to see where the story goes next!

    Awesome ep. Any episode that ends with a pop song played over a montage will guaantee an awesome vote from me :P I just love Peter's transformation. It's scary, and I don't really want him to be an observer, but I get the feeling it's all for the greater good, and next week's episode can't come soon enough.

    Hard to believe we're already past the halfway point now. Television is going to SUCK when Fringe is gone.

    Bell. I'm glad they finally addressed what exactly happened in 2016 just before the ambering, but the explanation seemed hollow. After what happened what him and Jones did in 2012, why on earth would they ever possibly listen to him again? The man tried to kill about 14 billion people (depending on the red universe's population) and become a god. WTF?

    Am SO fucking glad to see Nina again; she has been sorely missed. It was danced around in Novation and Brave New World Part One that she loved Bell, but the way it came back to bite her in the ass was so heartbreaking; and Walter being a dick about it didn't help matters. That woman's been through too much: Losing her arm, losing her daughter, unrequited love for Bell, the wheelchair, Walter being a shit to her for 25 years after he crossed over in the adjusted 1985, etc.

    With the new canisters, I am more sure than ever that the plan to defeat the Observers involves locking them out of time. I had inklings of this as far back as Letters of Transit, but now I'm sure. The Child Observer (who I believe is a young Windmark) is needed to activate it, like whatever they did to September (speaking of whom, WHERE is he?!?!) between The End Of All Things and A Short Story About Love. Perhaps the red rocks are a power source, and CO needs to psychically open the machine? Who knows?

    Another thing they're overlooking, WHY haven't they tried to reopen the portal to the other side? Surely, Walternate, Fauxlivia, and Fringe Division on the other side survived? Or, why haven't THEY tried to cross over? Unless and until they address that in some way, I find that to be an enormous plot hole.

    David Bowie FTW. Seriously, they've been finding some great 80's music this season.

    Peter. My god... What has that man done? He's almost completely gone by now. Perhaps I'm the only one, but I could hear flashes of the Observer monotone even as early as last week. Joshua Jackson has really stepped up his game the last two seasons; probably the Peterless arc was a way to compensate for lack of an alternate in season 3. About the only thing left at this stage is hair loss.

    One last note, and this is particularly disquieting: the music played in the promo was the Funeral March from Richard Wagner's (Hitler's favorite composer, btw) opera, Twilight of the Gods. It's about a war between the forces of good and evil that ends with the gods destroyed. Definitely fitting for a final battle between Windmark's godlike beings and a dehumanized Peter.

    An awesome episode. Nina's return was as welcome and as fantastic as Broyles's return a couple of eps ago. Loved her reunion with Olivia - I love that they kept some of the tenderness of the Olivia/Nina relationship from the amber timeline. And all of Nina's scenes with Walter were fantastic. The ending was just creepy - watching and, mainly, hearing Peter's transformation was so well done by Joshua Jackson.

    Great episode, and I've never even been a Fringe fan. First, my hat is off to Josh, he absolutely nailed the Observer mannerisms. Second, Sneezy's been outside of Storybrooke again! LOL

    Speaking of OUAT, I couldn't help but notice some interesting parallels. For example in the talk between Nina and Walter, when she was telling him that it's hard to give up "that boundless power that comes with omnipotence" I realised that Walter is kind of like Rumplestiltskin - when his son was taken away from him, he put his effort into crossing over to another universe, without regard for consequences and casualties. He also shares some of Regina's fate, because he initially believed that yielding power won't corrupt him (again). When Nina told him she saw the same arrogant Walter in him, I had a deja vu of the scene in 2x02 OUAT "We Are Both" when Rumple told Regina he could see the resemblance to her mother. And in the end, both Regina and Walter would rather give up knowledge/magic than become the person they've come to despise.
    Nina was, in a way, Belle, because she tried to hold on to Bell, but her love wasn't enough to overcome his hunger for power.
    And curiously enough, Peter's recent transformation after losing Etta is much like Regina's after losing Daniel, going through the same stages - anger, belief that using the tech/magic won't affect him, desire for revenge which is leading him on a path to self-destruction.
    Anyway, just found it interesting. I guess I've been obsessing over OUAT too much lately, lol. :D

    interesting...my theory was that peter would become windmark....but september interesting....but i doubt walter will use the chip etc because even as he is returning to his former self he is cautious of giving himself too much power.

    Episode was amazing, amazing, amazing.
    I wanted to mention something really specific though. I don't think they will do this, but I am worried that they might: Peter got the tech in his head from an Observer. He didn't create it, just took it. So...if Peter ends up somehow being the "first" Observer or something, and all the others have this tech (which they may replicate by using his own implant), then that would mean that the tech never actually gets created. It's the LOST "compass" time loop all over again. Like I said, I don't think that's what they're going for, and maybe I'm off base here, but I just couldn't help but think about that...


    That said, DAMN this season is just getting better and better. It's so great to have EVERY SINGLE EPISODE being related to the myth-arc. No filler, no case-of-the-week, just pure EPIC story. I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Just finished watching this episode. couldn't watch it yesterday and today - it was a pure torture, never want to go through that again.

    Just wanna say one thing - epic and freaking brilliant episode!! I was gripping my chair from the first scene, and I can't even count how many time I got chills watching Josh Jackson preform, and God, I'll never forget the last 6 minutes: the look on both Olivia and Peter's face - pure terror opposite the cold, calculated stare; and The Man Who Sold The World - genius.

    excellent episode. The scene between olivia and peter at the end gave me chills. joshua jackson gave a hell of a performance there. And I was sooooo happy to see Nina sharp again, i have always loved her and it's always so good when we get to see her. and emotional nina is especially good! I loved her scenes with walter and olivia! Speaking of walter, i felt so sorry for him. the ending scene, with both bishops collapsing was really sad. And poor olivia... Ohhh. This season sort of took a while to get things moving but now the arc is really strong

I have a question: why do they need Bell's hand when they already have one, taken as soon as Astrid and Walter got back together post-amber? Did it go bad and now they need the other one? Now I see the significance of the hand glyph. I think we're beginning to see the significance of the glyphs.

    I'm finally catching up with Fringe episodes (i was only 3 eps behind. I had feared it was more.)


    I have to say...I had filed Jonathan Jackson away as a run of the mill kid actor when he was on Dawson's Creek. Over the first four seasons of Fringe I'd reassessed. But seriously, watching his performance here...as he began to lose Peter and become so Observer-like. I made another reassessment. Dang this man can act!


    Olivia! You must save Peter! Please.


    Did anyone else's hear break when Walter made that plea to Nina?
