Favorite episode of the series so far. Helena and Oliver have more chemistry than Ollie/Dinah and make a more interesting couple at this point in the series. The twist with Tommy's father wasn't one I saw coming, guess we now know who Dark Archer is or will be. I hope they up Huntress to series regular next year, her Ollie and Dinah would make one hell of a love triangle.
..Aroow finally MEET his deadly female side-kick in the cartoon i am not sure her name was CAT some hardcore comic fan could verify this information please this was sexy,.grr,.seductive episode a 10 +++++ plus
called it! I knew barrowman was merlyns father! 1. they look a like. 2. their both rich and moira knows him well. 3. their going the lionel-lex smallville way i guess except tommy's dad seemed more like a dick. Lionel was evil (first four seasons at least) but barrowman's character is more like a dick but as more episodes come hopefully he'll evolve to like lionel. He seems like a good enemy tho Tommy's dad. A problem for Arrow and tommy lol. Anyways great episode Helena/Huntress was well done except what I was bothered by was in the end of the fight Oliver breaks the guys neck and then see's helena kill the one guy and oliver's surprised? dude u just killed someone to wtf?
Helena was amazing. She and Oliver would make a great team. Not just in the bedroom. They have the same goal. She is just focused on her father, he on everyone. If they team-up, they got the city clean in no time. Is it just me, or did Olivers sister grow cold since ep1? I mean she sees to be pissed at him most the time, talking to him as little as possible. Compared to ep1 where she was even more thrilled to have her brother back than everyone else (including his mother – which was probably just her fear of what he might know). I had the impression they were quite close. And she wanted to be close to him, but he pushed her away. Well … That would definitely be a reason to be p.o. at your brother. And my my, aren’t families just the best? Turns out our prime villain is his best friends (or is it former best friend) father.
This went by so fast that I was bummed when it ended. Liked the reveal of John Barrowman's character, no idea where they could take him. Loved Helena/The Huntress and her relationship with Ollie, I don't know if I like her or Laurel more with Oliver. Keep it up Arrow, hasn't been a bad episode so far!
Sorry, I don't quite agree about 1 and 2. 1. I don't think they look much alike. White with dark hair, you got millions of guys (and girls) like that. Even Oliver. 2. People stick to their own kind: rich people with rich people, poor people with poor people. You think a millionaire would be best friend with a poor guy which family hardly make a living? I bet 90% or more of Olivers friends come from wealthy families (not necessary business partners of his father or mother, but rich a family). He was surprised saw her kill that guy. Guess he didn't expect it. Maybe he believed she doesn't have it in her. Or that she isn't strong enough. Welcome to 20th century (I know we're past that, but let's not rush. Some guys still think it's the 1800).
Pleas no triangles. You got that on Vampire Diaries if you like (for like almost every character. p.s. I'm not complaining about it). But don't make it on Arrow and make things more complicated. Besides: Laurel is with Tommy. Or it looks like she will be.
It's been few years, but if I remember correctly, they met when Clark saved Lex life. Guess, if someone saves your life, it doesn't really matter if he's rich or a farm boy.
And don’t' get me wrong. It's absolutely possible that a person from a rich family is friend with someone from a poor family. But that happens in college, or even later, at work, when actually both worlds come together. And Oliver and Tommy were friends since they were kids. Rich kids mostly go to private schools and have no contact with kids form poor families.
I disagree on principle, but I get where are you at. There's this trend where love triangles are just crappy, when if handled properly, they can enhance the narrative. A love triangle between Ollie, Helena and Laurel could very poignantly show the inner conflict in him, darkness and redemption. But I think that is still ways down the road.
I mean, love triangles are a valid vehicle for a theme or conflict, but they tend to become sloppily written so easily.
Don't get me wrong. I like the triangle between Elena and the boys. But they repeated it for too many characters. Caroline, Tyler, Ric, Jeremy, ... It gets too much, too complicated.
Well, theoretically it is a triangle. Oliver is now with Helena, but has still feelings for Laurel. Not long ago he tried to make up with her (without a doubt hoping to get her back). And Laurel is between Oliver and Tom.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

today i can officially say, i'm no more a Oliver/Laurel shipper (maybe later) :p
ReplyDeletebut right now Oliver/Helena <3
The next episode is supposed to be Helena's last for a while at least. They have good chemistry.

ReplyDeleteI might be the only one, but I didn't like the actress who played Helena, she's pretty, but not a good actress in my opinion.

ReplyDeleteYou've just described Lex and Clark.
Green Arrow had many sidekicks. Perhaps you are referring to Mia Dearden/Speedy.

I know! Damn that last scene, hadn't squeed like that since I was a little schoolgirl, then I remembered I never was.

Haha! too bad she is around for only 1 episode for now

I hope to god Oliver/Laurel isn't the endgame. Those two have zero chemistry together.
ReplyDeleteI love Oliver/Helena, and am surprised at how much I like Tommy/Laurel (though I think he can find someone that would treat him better)..
Yeah, me too.
ReplyDeleteThis was a great episode. Loved the chemistry b/w the two couples. Also "Moira's friend's" reveal as Tommy's father was surprising.
