Person Of Interest - Updated Character Relationship Chart

Nov 12, 2012

Hi all

Once again I've updated the POI Character relationship chart for last week's episode. This update features the inclusion of Finch's former fiance Grace Hendricks.

There's certainly plenty to be explored between these two, and I'm really looking forward to seeing how things play out. One thing that seems obvious now that we have timeframes to work with is that Finch left Grace before he had spinal fusion surgery 1-2 years ago. To refresh your memory if needed, he bumped into Reese for the first time (that we have seen) while he was still in a wheelchair in hospital. Reese was on a mission to find his lost love Jessica at the time

It also seems apparent that Finch had the machine at a stage of remarkable intelligence a year before 'Day 1', which in my mind creates a large gap between that day where Ingram & Finch were on the waterfront in 2004, to the time when it was delivered in 2009. Plenty could have happened in that 5 year timeframe.

Another thing that crossed my mind is that Finch must have had his own back door into the machine from at least 2006. Why?? Because Finch had that alert which notified him of Grace's presence in 2006, and he still has it today. In addition, Ingram programmed his own back door, it seems, before delivery in 2009. It's an incredibly intricate back story, with virtually endless possibilities

This chart is a real jigsaw now, it takes a lot of time to move the parts around and create spaces for new lines and connections. I'm still managing not to put any lines in that cross over other lines, but I suspect the time will come when that just cannot be sustained any longer

As usual, keep clicking until the image gets to full size. The chart is also viewable on the Person Of Interest section of my website, www.seriesmonitor.com as usual. It's normally on my site a couple of days earlier than it is on SpoilerTV for those who want to see it super quickly

The next update might feature the dog, Bear, if he has a part to play at some stage

Enjoy!!
Jimmy

  2. Wow, this is amazing! I'll have to rewatch the episode you mentioned where Reese and Finch fist met in the hospital. I totally forgot about that, and I didn't make the connection that this is when Finch had his spinal fusion surgery.

  3. Thanks Jimmy, great work, although there could be several minor details requiring corrections. For instance Root's real name is Sam Groves. Also Jessica's TOD wasn't 2006, it happened sometime during Reese's CIA operation in Ordos, China. Reese initially wanted to take leave to address to Jessica's seemingly troubled situation (abused by her husband) but was instructed by Agent Snow then that he could have the time off he wanted once the Ordos mission was completed. Just my two cents. :)

  4. Thanks, you were right on both accounts, I had the information there but Photoshop hadn't saved my changes for some reason. The backup copy was correct though, so I've reuploaded the chart to my website, www.seriesmonitor,com. Go there to see the updated version

  8. Thanks! I figured it must be one of the last eps of S1, since I managed to get to 1.17 in my August rewatch in preparation for the new season.

  9. This chart is great! I've got it bookmarked. I did notice one minor error; Jessica was actually murdered in December of 2010, rather than February of 2006.

  10. See the chart on my website, not on SpoilerTV, it fixes that error you talked about

  11. Thank you so much. You did an awesome job. Just a quick question. You said Reese killed Jessica's husband. But is it sure? I mean in Many Happy Returns he made disappear another violent husband and it looked like he'd killed him too but toward the end of the episode we saw Carter getting a call from a mexican (?) prison where Reese drove said husband and when asked the guard said he wasn't the only American in that prison. This might mean Reese didn't kill Peter Arndt either, right? After all, if I remember right, his body was never recovered
