Every time I see Cora all I can think about is that if Emma used her head and didn't try shooting that revolver at the ogre, she could have killed Cora with it already.
i think Cora is way more powerful than that. We know she's "so much worse" than Regina and, if you remember, Regina was able to catch an arrow in its flight. Wouldn't be surprised if Cora would be able to control the bullet within a split of a second.
None of that matters. Cora probably doesn't even know what a gun is and when they were in Emma's childhood room, Cora had her back turned to Emma while she was dealing with Snow. If Emma had the gun, all she would have had to do is pull it out and shoot her. She would have never saw it coming. Regardless of how powerful she is, a person can hardly defend themselves against something they have no knowledge of.
dont underestimate her, it hasn't been suggested anywhere that she wouldn't know what a gun was. As she said herself, she crossed through many worlds so I'm sure she must have stumbled across a gun - even if it was an old fashioned one. For example, somehow, I can't help but think that Frankenstein's world would surely have guns and rifles and what not - science would've made sure of it.
If Emma used her head? You mean if Emmas used her clairvoyance to see that she doesn't need her gun against this lovely ogre who wants to eat her but has to shoot a suddenly arise Cora who copy Lancelot? Well, then you are right. It's all her fault.
Is there a ship name for Hook and Cora because DAMN, I am shipping it hard. I know I shouldn't expect Barbara Hershey to have anything less than great chemistry with everyone but I really didn't expect to ship them.
There's been no indication that Cora has been to a world without magic (the ones likely to have guns) and OUAT hasn't introduced any worlds that have both magic and firearms, with the exception of current day Storybrooke.
"I love sassy Aurora, it's sad they've waited this long to give her anything to do." I like the fact that someone is finally breathing some life into Aurora as well but neither Aurora nor Mulan have had much to do at all. So far, it would seem both of them are around only because Emma and Snow need people to bounce their lines off of.
Pretty much. It's why I don't get why they even bothered to get actors like Jamie and Sarah. Some glorified extras from Vancouver would have been just fine with how much they've done.
Just based on twitter, they're going to. But even that is just...why? Is it that the characters only really have any use if they have a true love or something? They'll probably have it so they set up Aurora and Phillip as new kings and queens of the land or something before they leave.
we just haven't seen any but that doesn't mean there aren't any. am i to believe that pirates (who obviously know no magic) were attacking other ships just with swords, no cannons and all that? (catapults would be way to big to put on a ship) We haven't seen enough worlds to judge that and, like I said, I'm pretty sure there would be guns in Frankenstein's world. Not saying there are firearms for sure but equally, implying that Cora, who travelled through different realities, wouldn't know what a gun was, is a pretty bold statement and not really valid, that's all.
In the world of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, there's no magic. If Cora were to travel to a world without magic, chances are she'd be stuck there. Because there's no magic. She'd need a ultra-powerful spell to bring magic there (like Gold did). Is there a chance Cora has come across firearms? Sure, but the likelihood of it happening is a very small one and you're using a lot of speculation to get to that conclusion.
I'm assuming one thing - that Cora doesn't know what guns are. You're assuming that Cora has been to a number of worlds that haven't been introduced on the show, has somehow visited worlds without magic and found a way to use magic to keep traveling, and have taken note of the weaponry of every world she's traveled to. I'd say my assumption is a lot less bold than yours.
Why? I'd say they have to do the story at this point just to validate the fact they cast these people in the first place. Because if they don't, like you said, why did they bother with this at all? Failing that, I'll just have to chalk it up as something the writers wanted to do and nothing more.
I can't wait to see Regina's face when she hears new of her mother for the first time since she pushed her through the mirror. It's going to be excellent.
But she has to know that she MAYBE can kill a powerfull witch with a gun? Regina and Gold don't seem to believe that a simple gun is a perfect solution to deal with Cora. Emma is a woman who grew up in our world. It's not fair to expect that she can value which kind of magic creatur she can kill with a gun and which not.
If an ogre attacks me and I have a gun, I would use it. I would try everything to survive. After I survived, I can think about the next dangers out there. That's the normal succession. Afterwards you know all better but in the situation you have to follow your instincts, use your chances and hope for the best.
Rumple looks a bit afraid of her - that tells me that she might be a lot more (or at least equally) powerful than him, surely she would be able to travel between worlds without magic as well. It didn't seem to be a problem to Mad Hatter then why should it be to Cora? She wouldn't have to take note of EVERY weaponry in these worlds but pistol is a pretty universal thing, don't you think? Also, she doesn't normally play fair and resolves to breaking the rules so she would be seeking just that in every of the worlds. And if people can't use magic (obviously not everyone even in a magical world can!) then they have to have something else to protect themselves, be it sword or a gun, I would be surprised if Cora didn't have a look at that aspect as well.
"So brave..." *Cora is amused* Hehehehe... Damn, Cora might be a supervillain you want to hate with a burning passion, but Barbara Hershey is such a joy to watch!
Well, I try to imagine this scene: Emma sits on the floor and the big bad ogre stays in front of her. Emmas only weapon is a gun but she doesn't use it because she thinks "Oh, in the past the gun doesn't help me so I don't try it. I'm like Wile E. Coyote and I only use my options once." And after that she thinks: "Well, this ogre wants to kill me but there are a lot of other mean people out there so I really should save my gun and pray.".Sorry, but that doesn't work for me. Anyhow, I like this discussion. It's fun.

ReplyDeletecant wait to see the episode!
ReplyDeletefinally we're getting our dose of sneak peeks :))))
ReplyDeleteAnd they are GOOD.
Hahaha! from now on i will think probably the same.
ReplyDeleteAh, Cora! Gotta love her and Barbara Hershey's interpretation of the character. Looks like we'll get a healthy dose of mommy dearest this week.

ReplyDeleteThe Cora scenes are great. I especially loved the scene with her and Aurora. Why couldn't we have had this Aurora all along?

ReplyDeleteOh, Cora you're so awesome! She even has her own umbrella!
ReplyDeleteIs there a ship name for Hook and Cora because DAMN, I am shipping it hard. I know I shouldn't expect Barbara Hershey to have anything less than great chemistry with everyone but I really didn't expect to ship them.
ReplyDeleteOr if she just listened when people spoke and told her ogres hunt by sound and thus shooting HER GUN INTO THE AIR was a bad idea.
ReplyDeleteEmma didn't need to be clairvoyant. She needed the common sense to realize there's no way she was going to kill an ogre with a .38 special.

ReplyDeleteUnless OUAT fully intends to dive back into the Prince Phillip storyline in the back half of season two, I fully agree with your logic here.

ReplyDeleteYou'd think she'd have learned from the trying and not succeeding at shooting a dragon. Emma's learning curve is very slow though.
