This doesn't look like new territory for the procedural medical drama genre. Seems like the same old thing again. The "doctors = gods" trope is mind-numbing for anyone who has seen enough of these medical dramas.
Not that I think it is going to be covering any "new" ground, but I think the idea is that they aren't "gods." I think like the concept is to go over the Monday morning M&M meeting to review deaths and screw-ups. But that really only makes it even more of a downer. Like Cold Case were no matter what they did the person was already dead and for all intents and purposes forgotten.
It took me a couple of weeks to remember to check here and see if someone could explain what this series is about. It has been impossible for me to figure out from the trailer - which, IMHO, makes for a poor trailer. I might have checked it out for Ving Rhames but, given the premise, I don't think so.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
I'm torn. I love Jennifer Finnigan, but I'm already watching enough doctor shows. This looks good, though!
ReplyDeletewtf is this
ReplyDeleteIs this the medical show by Dr.S Gupta? I tried looking for it here but couldn't find it....
ReplyDeleteIt;s on the Menu under TNT
ReplyDeleteAmazing cast! will defiantly give a try
ReplyDeleteThanks Dark here i was looking for it under pilot watch 2013! :P
ReplyDeleteHa, no, it's been ordered to series :)
ReplyDeletethis looks slightly depressing...
ReplyDeleteTo TNT: Stop making such depressing stuff. Buy your execs a better health plan, one that covers antidepressants.
ReplyDeleteTo Jamie Bamber: Why? Why can't you find a good show to be in again? I miss Apollo.
TNT's slogan is "Drama, Period", so this definitely looks like a TNT show. I'll give it a shot.

ReplyDeleteYeah, the concept is more morose than usual.
