Morgana leads a terrifying manhunt in pursuit her old foe Alator of the Catha (Gary Lewis), for she knows without doubt that he can tell her exactly where to find Emrys.
Merlin’s life has never been in more danger, so when the mysterious Finna (Sorcha Cusack) offers to help him, is he right to trust her? Or will he find himself cornered with nowhere to run?
Colin Morgan is Merlin, Bradley James is Arthur, Angel Coulby is Gwen, Katie McGrath is Morgana, Richard Wilson is Gaius and John Hurt is the voice of the Great Dragon. Tom Hopper, Rupert Young, and Eoin Macken return as The Knights of the Round Table.

ReplyDeleteSandi, do you know if Alator (I am just so excited he's back) will also be in Episode 9 i.e. helping Merlin break Gwen's enchantment, after all the writers (sigh) did say the magic was most powerful even for Merlin. See now that's where I wonder what the writers are playing at. I thought that Merlin/Emrys would be the greatest sorcerer to live so surely he should be able to help Gwen break Morgana's hold. But apparently Morgana is stronger than Merlin because this enchantment is soooo powerful....and yet she's hunting Alator to find out about Emrys. Really, writers, really. What is wrong with this picture.

ReplyDeleteMy feeling is that Merlin will be the greatest sorcerer to live, he's just years away from that at the moment. Once he can practice and learn more openly he will be on the road to that, he's still very young at the moment and isn't more powerful than most other older witches/wizards we have seen on the show so far.
We don't know anything about this spell that Morgana has on Gwen, so I don't think we can't say it's definitely her that's cast it in the first place. It wouldn't be the first time that someone else cast a spell on mandrake root for her to use after all, if indeed that is what has caused it. I'm leaning towards her having powerful help, because they haven't explained what on earth this curse/spell is. The last we saw of them together was Gwen saying 'you will never break me' to Morgana. So what happened, that we didn't see, between then and when Elyan rescued her.
I would love Alator team up with Merlin to put Morgana into place.
ReplyDeleteI know we are all craving for a reveal. How about putting up the question: How do you envisage the reveal will happen? - assuming it MUST happen, before the end of THIS season !
I bet there are plentiful ideas out there!
Can't wait for this episode because it looks like a Merlin centric episode!
