  1. Thanks Sandi for the teaser. Can you tell us whether or not
there are any good Arwen moments in the episode before Morgana captures Gwen?
Any Arwen kisses in this episode. 5 episodes down and no kisses between the
royal couple. As always, thank you in advance for any information you can
    provide.

  5. I think these are all spot on nice :)

  6. Ugh, I hate Arthur/Gwen centric episodes. They are always so boring and Arthur acts like an idiot who doesn't deserve to be the king of Camelot.

    ReplyDelete
  7. “Sleep my lady, for it could be some time before you do again” Morgana to Gwen

“There is dark magic coursing through their veins” Gaius (I'm not sure that dark magic can run through someone's veins but that's what came to mind)

“You’re not going to lose her. You’re not. We’re going to find her. I swear. We’ll bring her home” Merlin to Arthur

“I don’t know what I’d be if it wasn't for her” Elyan

“I was having a dream about eating a cheese that tasted of apple pie.Anyone else have that dream? Well you’re all missing out” Merlin or Gwaine (maybe)

“We should have made it out of the forest(?) by now” Arthur

    “Gaius, you’re a genius”

“I know it’s not you. I know it’s not you. I know it’s not you" Gwen to a hallucination

“I have to do this” Arthur or Elyan

Trailer Teaser:No idea.Is it a quote,a name...?We could be guessing the whole week and not figure it out.A few words fit but they're kind of random.Magic,death...Like I said,no idea! ; )

  8. Does Merlin has scenes with Gwen?

    ReplyDelete
  9. Did you see Colin Morgan at Cold Con? He was there in the morning session to support his friends.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Sounds boring as hell -.-

    ReplyDelete
  11. FINALLY Time for Arthur and Guinevere! This ep looks very exciting :)

    ReplyDelete
  12. Can't wait to see Morgana and Gwen interact onscreen again!

    ReplyDelete
  13. Agreed! Nicely done.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Can you say if Merlin thinks or talks about what happened to him in the last episode regarding his denying of magic in Camelot? Do we see him affected by what happened? Is there any continuity?

    ReplyDelete
  15. I'd love to know if Merlin confronts Morgana in this episode. Thanks.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Perhaps you're new to the show, so let me assure you that Merlin doesn't do continuity.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Dos Morgana get scenes with other cast member other than Gwen?

    ReplyDelete
  18. I'm kinda looking forward to this but also kind of not.
just hope it isn't to sad. The last Gwen-centred episode (Lancelot Du Luc) was to much for me :'(

but thanks for posting the spoilers for us :D

    ReplyDelete
  19. I think this is exactly the way I thought it would be. And I'm really hoping Elyan does say "I don't know what I'd be without her" because he's been a pretty shitty brother otherwise. I think he needs redemption.

    ReplyDelete
  20. I'm guessing the knights riding with Gwen originally (Percival, Leon, Elyan.) But once Merlin, Arthur, and the others get to the Dark Tower (if they do) then maybe she'll get scenes with the rest of them

    ReplyDelete
  21. very excited about this episode, was finding the lack of queen Gwen story line disappointing!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Is there Merlin/Gwen and Merlin/Morgana scenes please?

    ReplyDelete
  23. Well it's a good thing nobody's forcing you to watch then!!

    ReplyDelete
  24. Sleep my lady, for it could be some time before you do again” Morgana to Gwen
“There is DARK MAGIC coursing through their veins” Gaius
“You’re not going to lose her. You’re not. We’re going to find her. I swear. We’ll bring her home” Merlin to Arthur
“I don’t know what I’d be if it wasn't for her” Arthur
“I was having a dream about eating a cheese that tasted of apple pie. Anyone else have that dream? Well you’re all missing out” Merlin
“We should have made it out of the FOREST by now” A knight (Elyan)
“I would have sold my soul for someone to show me kindness such as this” Morgana
    “GAIUS, you’re a genius” Merlin
“I know it’s not you. I know it’s not you. I know it’s not you" Gwen
“I have to do this” This is the mist unpredictable. Gwen under a spell? Morgana torturing Gwen? Gaius treating some ill knight??
As for the trailer teaser: there are many 5 letter words :) so I guess it must be a name? Only one I can think of : GAIUS (Are we going to see the end of a lovable character?)

  25. I have a feeling I'm going to get a lot of down votes for this comment :p

This isn't what I would call a ship episode at all I'm afraid. I'm not sure where the rumour that it is has come from, but from reading the comments left here so far I think it's best to say that now than let the arwen supporters be deeply disappointed come Sat.

Great to see Smirkgana back, she and Gwen are great together as always, I miss their friendship that they had early on in the show. And the knights have more screen time too; this feels a bit more like a quest episode that we would get in a more traditional telling of the story, which is one of the things I would love to see more of in this version too.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I went to the afternoon one, so missed Colin but saw Bradley on Skype :)

    ReplyDelete
  27. oh great, that sooo does my day. here I was amongst those many hoping there would be some decent screen time for Arwen, and I get it now there will be nothing. I really honestly wonder why they said in the months leading to the show that there would be good stuff, because there has been next to nothing, and the way things are going, it seems we will get nothing now either. I mean, if Arwen is not in an episode such as this, then where will it be?? I mean honestly it would be the ideal setting for something Arwen-ish... if there is nothing here... well honestly I just couldn't be more disappointed.

PS - I don't think you'll get many down votes cos the web seems to be filled with fans of the now-exxagerated bromance between Arthur and Merlin, and Arwen fans are getting fewer and fewer considering the total non-existence of Arwen this season.

Well, as someone said somewhere in this thread, no-one is forcing me to watch the series, and in fact, I'm done with it. I've completely lost all interest in it, its lost all sense of scope and direction.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Sometimes the best things in life are not the things that we see but the things that we experience by just quietly observing as they unfold! I love this show, every relationship in it and everything thrown on-screen because it gives us all something to experience and takeaway. We just need to be patient and put on that rose-coloured glasses!

    ReplyDelete
  29. Mhnnn....I think you were supposed to tease here, not spoil..and as far as Arwen it definitely looks like spoiling unfortunately... :o( And I don't expect a full on Arwen episode like Queen of Hearts for example because synopsis for 5x06 say none of such but what I hope for, is the utmost worry and desperation of Arthur after she's gone and at least some after rescue scene between him and her.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Since Gwen is kidnapped by Morgana and Arthur will spend most of the ep going a quest to save her, I don't expect to have many Arwen scenes, but I mean at least one at the end will be kinda appropriate I guess... but Oh I forget this is the Arthur and Merlin show!

    ReplyDelete
  31. Well, don't shoot the messenger! She's just trying to save Arwen fans the trouble of getting excited for nothing.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Again....I appreciate teasing, not spoiling. And would prefer to be excited for nothing than having nothing to look forward to as far as this couple.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I, for one, think forewarned is forearmed. Expectations among Arwen fans are so high for this episode, and now we have a few days to process the bad news.

    ReplyDelete
  34. i definitely do not agree with you here... I would be a lot mooooore disappointed if I let my hopes get high and then come Saturday I find there was not Arwen at all!! I'd much rather know immediately so i can opt not to even bother watch the episode on Saturday, as I'll in fact do

    ReplyDelete
  35. Sandi, Given the fact that Gwen gets kidnapped in the
episode and Arthur goes on a quest to find her, I did not expect to get a lot
of Gwen and Arthur interaction. But I did expect to get a scene at the
beginning with Arthur seeing Gwen off (e.g. helping her on the horse, or Arwen
exchanging a goodbye kiss), and a tender scene at the end when Gwen is rescued.
Is there anything like that to look forward to? Or are you saying that there is
NO Arthur & Gwen interaction at all in this episode? As always thanks in
advance for any info you can give.

  37. Can you reveal if Merlin uses his more of his powerful magic in this episode?

    ReplyDelete
  38. I think you'll be happy with their scenes. I love how their relationship has evolved over the years, in some ways there is a bit of a role reversal in this episode which makes it interesting.

  39. I think you'll be happy with their scenes. I love how their relationship has evolved over the years, in some ways there is a bit of a role reversal in this episode which makes it interesting.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Don't despair. I didn't say there was nothing arwen in the episode, just that I get the feeling from the comments here that some are expected them to spend lots of time together being happy. Their love and strong relationship/emotions are still felt throughout it, as we would expect it to be when one half is kidnapped and held prisoner. But it's a much darker episode, kinda like the Uther one was, so just don't expect too much fluffy interaction between them. I have a feeling that in upcoming episodes we will be seeing more of their relationship

    ReplyDelete
  41. I think you'll be happy with their scenes. I love how their

    ReplyDelete
  42. hmm, I didn't find it sad episode over all, thou there are some elements to it which will be upsetting.

    ReplyDelete
  43. It's not what I would call a ship heavy episode, as in it's not happy and/or light. It's quite a dark episode, so we see the concern/worry/panic side of their love for each other rather than holding hands/kissing side.

There is one *very* brief moment towards the end of the episode which is a situation that some arwen fans have wanted to see this year, but there is a twist to that scene so, again, I wouldn't necessarily say it's a positive shipping moment. Thou I can see more of their their relationship being told in future episodes.

Sorry if that's a bit vague, I just don't want arwen supporters to have false expectations of this episode, especially as I see Gwen as finally coming more to the foreground. Angel is fab in this episode, and I think/hope that we are finally starting to see an arc for her this season.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Can I ask you why do you have a feeling there will be a lot more Arthur/Gwen interaction in the upcoming episodes? I'm not a big fan of the pairing, so I'd like to be prepared to be dissapointed.

    ReplyDelete
  45. well according to the synopsis for the next ep, I think we know what the twist is gonna be about... but we are very looking forward this arc, especially cause like you said It's time to let Angel shine! :)

    ReplyDelete
  46. So excited about the upcoming episode. I'm not expecting heaps of scenes of Arthur/Guinevere scenes since she is kidnapped after all. It's more about the fact it is centered around Guinevere (so exciting, because she's amazing and we haven't seen much of her) and Arthur's main concern will be Guinevere - not his ghostly father, not Disir, not Mordred but his wife. I'm most looking forward to his worrying about her, the determination to get her back and of course the Queen vs Morgana. Finally an interesting episode. Season 5 has been lack luster. Not sure whether it's because of the ridiculous new level of boring Arthur and Merlin's relationship has taken. Horseplay? Are you kidding me? I just had to laugh during that episode at the DULLNESS of their scenes which almost took up 45 minutes. When the credit rolled on their final scene...well, let's just say this is the first time I've been glad to have an episode end.

Hopefully this season will focus on King Arthur, Queen Guinevere, Mordred (please!) and Merlin as Emrys!! Enough horseplay it sucks. We get it Arthur treats Merlin like a puppy sometimes he likes he, sometimes he hits him with a rolled up newspaper fastforward please!!

  47. *Shock* I think I have to pinch myself. This can't be real. A good episode is coming our way? An episode filled with the 'dark' side we were promised? An episode which isn't filled with the stupidity, tiresome and repetitiveness that is Arthur and Merlin's relationship? I mean I can be watching an episode and i can swear Merlin and Arthur are having the SAME conversation they had last season, and the season before that and before that. Get my drift?

    Gwen vs Morgana = Amazing!
Knights on a Quest = Amazing!
Arthur acting like a husband = Amazing!
No Merlin and Arthur scenes = Priceless! :D

  49. I can't say too much, but it finally looks like Gwen has an arc developing this year.

    ReplyDelete
  50. I'm fairly gutted that there isn't more Mordred too, I was really hoping to see a lot of him this year :( It's the question I asked Alex on Saturday when we had a chance to get photos with the guys, his reply was along the lines of 'they didn't want to over use the character too early on'. But I get a feeling he will be in the thick of things more later on.

    ReplyDelete
  51. This show is called MERLIN. It's not called Gwen, Arthur and the knights. Besides It's Merlin going on a quest with Arthur and the knights.

    ReplyDelete
  52. I apologize...I just remembered you writing once that you're here not to spoil the fans but to tease them... ;o) Anyway, you must understand and I'm certain you do that with a lack of Arwen so far their fans can be a little desperate. Your post might've looked like a confirmation of getting NOTHING in regard to that pairing thus may have caused a little bitterness in our voices. I see now that you were trying to give the heads up for those who expected an episode of fluff, kissing and holding hands (although I think they actually might've been excited about the fact alone that 506 will evolve around A/G) Myself, as I wrote above, I'm not expecting peaches and cream from this episode, not a whole lot of Arwen interactions but I do hope for a lot of worry, concern and desperation on Arthur's side, being panicked just thinking about possibility of losing Guinevere. That and brilliant acting on Angel's side because I know she's gonna bring it! :D

    ReplyDelete
  53. I know I can come across as very direct in general and I'm not known for mincing my words (just ask Andy, lol), so apologies if I ever come across as such. I found it quite hard to word that original comment, it went through a number of edits trying to find a way of letting down the arwen commenters here who seemed to be looking forward to moments between the two.

I felt in a bit of an awkward position as I thought it was best to say from the start that they shouldn't expect too much, which is why I said I didn't consider it to be the shipper episode some were expecting. Unfortunately, I then went to bed (Mondays are a very busy day for me) so missed being able to put the record straight right away that I didn't mean that there was no arwen sentiment in it. I hope the matter is cleared up now thou :)

I managed to watch ep 7 last night, so far I think we're right in thinking we'll see more of Gwen, she's finally getting more screen time :D I just hope that she doesn't get sidelined again once this puppet Queen thing is through :\

    ReplyDelete
  54. It's pretty clear, thank you. And it's all cool! ;o) :D Info on the puppet arc lasting 4 episodes has been flying around for some time now so I guess we're gonna get more Gwen for the next four weeks at least and hopefully with this build up she won't return to her static self after that - also depends how this particular arc will end.... ;o) We shall wait and see...

    ReplyDelete
  55. After 4 episodes evolving around Gwen and with only 4 more
episodes to go of the potentially very last season ever, it’s time to pack up
some courage and develop the titular character, give some brain to Arthur and
make him “see things” for a change. To expect even more screen time for a secondary character is a bit unrealistic. Yes, she is a Queen, but she would never be one, nor Arthur would be a King and neither would be alive, for that matter, if not for Merlin. Merlin deserves a lot more than being an “idiot servant”. That story has worn itself out long ago and it’s beyond ridiculous this far into the life of the show.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Yes, like whole 4 non stop episodes evolving around her. I wish Merlin got that much attention.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Accidentally this is Arthur & Merlin show. If not for them the show would never live over the first season and if it's not for Merlin Gwen would never see another day after 1.03 and Merlin never get any attention apart from continues abuse & insults. The show is about him in name only.

    ReplyDelete
  58. I want a Merlin centric story arc in series 5. Can you say, dear Sandi, if we'll get one? Merlin is the titular character and should get his own story developed.Thanks.

    ReplyDelete
  59. wow seriously...Gwen finally gets a chance to be on screen for more than 2 mins and people are complaining about Merlin not getting the same attention. He gets like 90% of the screen time every single episode. So what you are saying makes no sense.

    ReplyDelete
  60. It makes perfect sense. I'm not talking about screen time, I'm talking about attention!!! Merlin's screen time is always about him protecting someone else, or about him being a punch bag, or like someone here said, being "a puppy" who the king can pet when he feels like it and then kick out. It is never about HIM. The only 2 episodes in the entire show were 1.04 & 1.10 when the story actually evolved around Merlin. Those were the best episodes to date. Since then instead of getting better it got a lot worse. I cannot believe that this far into the show we still dealing with blind, arragant prat and lowly servant whos words are not taken seriously until it's too late and who cannot possibly be praised into his face.

    ReplyDelete
  61. The PR for 5.08 it looks like that could be an episode that focuses more on Merlin.

On a side note, do you mean eponymous rather than titular?

    ReplyDelete
  62. You've said yourself that 5x07 seems to be Gwen-centric. From spoilers it's known that Gwen's enchantment will last for four episodes. And after that there will be one more A/G-centric episode. It's going to be boring for many people and as usual, those who are not watching for the romance will feel cheated at the end of the season.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Who said there will be no Arthur and Merlin scenes?

    ReplyDelete
  64. I'm not aware of having said that it's Gwen centric?

    ReplyDelete
  65. Here, 'I see Gwen as finally coming more to the foreground. Angel is fab in this episode, and I think/hope that we are finally starting to see an arc for her this season.'

I'm sorry if I interpreted it not the way you meant it, but to me it seems to be pretty Gwen0centric.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Ahhh, yeah you have misinterpreted it. If t was Gwen centric I would have used those words in there too :)

    ReplyDelete
  67. *****SPOILER ALERT *****

Rumour has it that Gwen’s enchantment will be broken only in
episode 9 and until then she will unavoidably be centre of attention that makes it 4 episodes and there seems to be one more Gwen centred episode after that. I believe it is more than enough for a secondary character and a storyline that good half of the fans cannot fathom at all.

******* End of the alert ***

To the best of my knowledge from day one it was about Arthur’s & Merlin’s destiny, Camelot comes as an extension of that of cause, but it’s about people’s destiny and until the end of the show I would really like to see at least a glimpse of mature Arthur who recognises Merlin’s importance and treats his servant with the equality he keeps on referring to. Until then it’s all empty words. With all the other story lines and Mordred coming to the foreplay no doubt, there is very little time left for any development.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Hmm, the two episodes I have seen aren't Gwen centric at all, in fact the whole cast is pretty well evenly balanced throughout them both imo. Ep 8 sounds like the first centric this season, but it looks like it's Merlins from the PR not hers. I think you are worrying over nothing if I'm honest :)

    ReplyDelete
  69. Thank you for the feedback, Sandi!

I will gladly be wrong, but for the time being I prefer to expect less and be pleasantly surprised after :)

    ReplyDelete
  70. Yes, I guess that's the right word. Thank you for correcting. Looking forward to the episode 5.08.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Cool, I was thinking it was as it made more sense, but wasn't sure, lol. I'm hoping ep 8 will deal with Merlin more on his own, or with Kilgharrah maybe. Someone here (apologies, as I can't remember who) suggested that maybe the dragon has been subtly misleading Merlin, esp as to Mordred's fate/the Disir. I think that would be an interesting twist to explore :)

    ReplyDelete
  72. I'm very happy that we'll get to see old Merlin aka Emrys! Colin Morgan is always superb in that role!

    ReplyDelete
  73. I concur! It would be the most interesting story arc to watch. Merlin needs more stories on his own indeed.

    ReplyDelete
  74. how did i know that that line would be Gwaines lol

    ReplyDelete
  75. omg Sandi!!! you said it wasn't a sad episode! Eylan died!!! I wasn't even prepared for that. I'm still a mess over it. the show will be the death of me :(

    ReplyDelete
  76. I didn't think it was sad overall, it was more of a scary episode I thought? The last portion of the episode was completely embargoed, I wasn't able to discuss any of it after a certain point (I forget, but think it was from 37 mins), which is why I could only say/warn that there was upset in it too. Sorry :(
