Yep, and I still have no clue who she is, but I'm pretty sure all Disney characters have been excluded. No princess is a hunter + can wrap any man around her finger. And there are no available villains that fit that description.
Somethings been troubling me, every casting choice has to be handsome, or beautiful. And all that. It's becoming a little disturbing that they're looking for for features rather then talent. And i saw the glee spoiler about casting a a DS young man for Becky acceptable target class? My foot can't we go real for for once? Like talent and going against the gran?
I actualy think Helena will turn out to be Guinevere (King Arthur's wife). Yes, she wasn't a warrior in the stories, but neither Snow.
Now, for my reasons: 1.It's written in her description that she is a well-brad lady, who knows her way around kings and courts. So, probobly a queen? 2. Being able to 'wrap any man around her finger', kind of fit the story of her affair with Lancelot. 3. I don't think we've seen tha last of Lancelot. So why not some of his acquaintance?
4. There is a little similarity between Queen Guinevere's story and the story of Helena of Troy. Mainly, both left their king of a husband for another man. So, naming her Helena while in Storybrooke is both a node to both stories, and also an excellent red herring.
I think it is a spin on Helen of Troy, but if so, why the warrior cliche? I'm kind of rolling my eyes nowadays with the OUaT character descriptions being oh so full of cliches + them needing to make almost every single character very differently than one expects. They are creating a new kind of "predictable" by trying to constantly spin almost every single character.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Well, Helena's description pretty much convinced me that its Helen of Troy, even if I had my doubts before.
ReplyDeleteAll the characters they cast on Once sound the same. Helena sounds a lot like a mix of Regina and Ruby.
