“HART OF DIXIE” — (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET)
“Achy Breaky Hearts” (Content Rating TBD) (HDTV)

DOSE OF REALITY — Both Zoe (Rachel Bilson) and Lemon (Jaime King) are having a difficult time accepting Lavon (Cress Williams) and Ruby’s (guest star Golden Brooks) new relationship, so they decide to find out Ruby’s true intentions. Wade (Wilson Bethel) agrees to supervise a Little Ranger’s camping trip to avoid a potentially awkward conversation with George (Scott Porter.) However, when George unexpectedly shows up on the trip, Wade has nowhere to hide, and their talk makes him see his relationship in a different light. Meanwhile, Brick (Tim Matheson) wants to take the next step in his relationship with Emily (guest star Mary Page Keller, “Duet”), but is shocked about who is not on board with the plan. Janice Cooke directed the episode written by Alex Taub (#208).

  1. Holy crap. A Lemon / Zoe team-up? I like this already. I'll like it even better if they can get rid of Ruby.

  3. I swear if George acts possessive of Zoe, or pulls on a whole righteous act on Wade for whatever reason, I might be inclined to punch him in the face Lemon-style!!!!

Or it might have something to do with Tansy... hhhmm... wonder how this will play out.

  4. Lavon and Ruby "relationship"??? No, get rid of the scheming biotch. :(

Plus, the whole "different light" thing. :( You mean like George tells Wade that Zoe doesn't think it is serious and is just stringing him along, kind of different light? Guess it could work?!?!

  6. Always like the Lemon and Zoe scenes. I wonder if a 'friendship' is the endgame

  7. Or he realizes that he is missing out on not being Zoe's boyfriend because George tells him that he thinks she is the best ever? (ok I realize that this will be a long shot, but I really like Wade-Zoe together so I'm looking for a positive outcome =P)

  8. I don't think Zoe is stringing anyone along. That would imply Zoe knows what she's doing and she definitely does not. Zoe is a relationship moron. She's flying blind. Besides, when you mutually and clearly label your status as casual it's difficult to string someone along unless they've wildly misinterpreted things.

If anything, the one problem with the Zoe/Wade relationship right now is that neither of them are being honest with each other about their real feelings. Wade's interest in Zoe has never been casual but he desperately pretends otherwise and, as always, Zoe's feelings are complicated and she's maddeningly indecisive.

  9. Casual monogamy is an oxymoron in my opinion. If Wade was free to date and flirt and fall into his usual patterns than her mooning over George would only be a slight betrayal (because the one thing Wade has made abundantly clear is that he isn't interested in fighting George for her affections) but he since he can't because "there are rules" then her using him because it was what she "needs" right then--and definitely not what she wants long term--is kinda crappy of her.

I think Zoe is lying to Wade and she is aware of it--she told him that she told George she was involved, but she didn't she told George was marking time until George was ready for a relationship with her. She had enough insight to have the discussion with George, she should have had the discussion with Wade instead of lying to him.

But I'm not a huge Zoe fan, at this moment. :) It will serve her right when George falls for someone new.

  10. Monogamous or not, Wade went to great pains to convince Zoe that their relationship is casual. Zoe mooning over anyone isn't a betrayal at all under those circumstances nor would it be if Wade showed similar behavior.

Even if "casual monogamy" is an oxymoron in your opinion it is what their situation is and it is what they both agreed to. Succinctly, they've both agreed to be each other's exclusive sex buddy. Under those terms, unless they're screwing someone else they're not doing anything wrong.

Until both Wade and Zoe can be honest with each other about what they're really feeling then they're both equally at fault for their sham of an agreement. Furthermore, as long as Wade continues to pretend that he's in this just to get laid and have fun then he has no right to make Zoe feel guilty about any mooning she does about anyone.
