    I've spent so much time calling them Mac and Smash that took me some time to realize that Heather and Shane were not new characters.

    And the fact that I have no idea who Stephanie and Leah are - and won't be bothered to Google it - is probably evidence of how little I care about the interns and this episode in general.

    Leah is the one who kept asking Jo why Alex is not interested in her anymore, in "Second Opinion". Stephanie is the one who was working with Alex and Meredith on the kid with cancer in the same episode.

    That's only speculation from Ausiello at this point. Seems more like it'll end up being Alex/Jo than whoever that character is going to be.

    OK this is bad because I have no clue who half the people mentioned are. These interns are pointless there are two many. I could she the played by TIna to stay because I like her and the guy that was with Christina but the others just don't interest me. Grey's is already a huge cast and it's seems like every week I hear about another recurring character coming out way and I'm just like enough is enough.

    Jo kind of reminds me of Izzie - no idea why. I wouldn't mind her as a love interest for Alex, better than all the other trash they've hooked him up with. But I also find Alex to be really irritating...

    Ha! I know exactly what you mean... Gaius Charles will ALWAYS be Smash Williams to me. And I've finally gotten over the habit of thinking of Tina Majorino as "Mac", but I had no idea what her name was on Grey's until I read your post :)

    it thought these interns were only meant to be guest recurring characters so far they have been in all the episodes, guess guest star is out the window.
