Crixus is coming to Arrow!
Spartacus fan favorite Manu Bennett has been cast in a major role in The CW’s breakout superhero drama.
Bennett, best known as Sparty’s right-hand man and sometimes adversary on the Starz action series, is playing Slade Wilson on Arrow.
For fans of the Green Lantern comics, that character is a big one. In the comics, Wilson eventually becomes a major villain in the franchise — Deathstroke (whom we’ve already seen briefly in a flashback, masked, played by another actor). Like with the question of if/when Laurel Lance will become the Black Canary, sources won’t comment on whether Wilson will become Deathstroke, an insider simply said, “You’ll just have to keep watching Arrow.”

I've given up hoping that they'll make Katie Cassidy cool instead of a whiny brat. Total waste. Just another let down.
ReplyDeleteI'm confused. They show Deathstroke but then hint that that Slade Wilson might not be him?
ReplyDeleteAside from the fact she isn't a whiny brat but a ballsy civil rights lawyer, she will be Black Canary well before the end of the season (which is the character that she was from the start). So she will be badass.
ReplyDeleteMaybe in concept, but in the script she is awful right now. I was watching with hope for Katie Cassidy, cause I love her, but I'm giving up on this promised transition to awesomeness...blah blah empty promises "if/when" BS. I'm sick of waiting through..I hesitate to say "crap" but it refuses to get any better, to come up with convincing bad guys, or to write likable charismatic characters that have any chemistry with each other. They've waited too long to make her fierce instead of cringing and crying, and talking tough and then whining. It's all promises and potential and no follow through.
ReplyDeleteAgree, the character is anything but a whiny brat, she is strong and fierce, and will be one of the best crime fighters one day. I think that the actress might be chanelling a bit, roles she been used to playing, bratty characters like (Ruby, Ella, etc,not that there are bad or anything), so some of the brattiness comes off. Its been getting better though each week, she is getting a hang of the role.
ReplyDeleteAlso yeah the character is kind of angry right now with Ollie (who cheated on her) and her father (who wants to control her life) can you blame her . I think she has shown a lot of growth in dealing with Ollie, but she still needs work with the dad, she does come of a bit less mature there, so they need to make that relationship more adult like. She acts more normally around other characters. Isabloom, give the character time though its only been seven episodes and the character has yet to unfold.
Dude, I loved Ruby and Ella (well "love" might be too strong, but she was far and away the BEST part of that awful show). I seriously dislike Laurel. But I seriously dislike all the characters. And I'm worn out given them time to unfold into people I want to root for. One or two episodes, sure, make it through the pilot, no problem. But 1/3 of the season! They have GOT to give me something, a moment, a smile. These people even screwed up "we've broken up but I still like you" angst--which I think we can agree is the CW/WB's bread and butter.
ReplyDeleteShe talks strong and fierce, but then she doesn't back it up. Why? Why? Why? All this "I don't care I'm going to stand up for what's right" and then when violence and bad things come for her, she is disillusioned and crying and running for help. It just makes her look like a stupid kid. There is no reason for them to do this to her. And I'm not blaming Katie Cassidy for it.
But that's just me, and I certainly do feel let down by the whole show. Slick exterior and no heart.
as am i lol.
ReplyDeleteI agree. She's awesome. She hasn't been whiny once!
ReplyDeleteMAH BB!
