Today Disqus, who run our comments system here at SpoilerTV have made an update to the MyDisqus section of the comments. Here is the post from the Disqus Blog that explains the update.
If you have any questions please let us know in the comments below or you can ask Disqus directly here.
Today we’re announcing the first of a series of updates to the My Disqus tab. Disqus 2012 introduced My Disqus view as a more obvious way to see replies to your comments and follow updates from commenters you care about. It’s one of several features in Disqus 2012 that help users return to conversations and move across the network.
Here’s a quick look at how we’re making My Disqus even more useful.
My Disqus is now home to two child tabs, Network activity and Notifications.

Network activity is now grouped by and anchored to a discussion topic. Not only does this give each activity item more context, but we feel it also makes them much more enjoyable to read.

The Notifications tab is an inbox of activity related to you. Notifications are now persistent even if you reload the page.

Since it’s a personalized experience, only users who log into Disqus see the My Disqus tab. If you’re not seeing it in the comments below, just connect with your Disqus, Facebook, Twitter, or Google account to give it a try.

I found that since they added the 'new notification'portion it takes longer for them to appear. They should have left it the way it was,it was faster...
ReplyDeleteI would also rather they invest there time on other things, like getting rid of the down vote, getting that part of the 'like' button that we clicked on to see who Liked us.Maybe we could even get our 'Top 10,100,50' etc....Yeah,yeah,i know it will in due time...... :)
I had noticed it yesterday. And I must say, I had replies to my comments from last year that I had not seen before. I'm glad I finally got to see them.
ReplyDeleteHa cool :)
ReplyDeleteYep, I agree :)
ReplyDeleteLol,maybe i should bitch more often.......nah! :P
ReplyDeleteI'll also chime in and say that the notification load time is frustratingly long.
ReplyDeleteI hope it gets better, as it is a bit annoying. The other tab loads almost instantly, though. I wonder why it takes so long for that tab to load.
ReplyDeleteWell getting your words out is the only way to be heard. Your ideas sound pretty nice.
ReplyDeleteI had noticed this about 1-2 days ago, and instantly wrote an article on that. It also clarified a few of my community member's thoughs, as they say that it was a bit confusing at first. I do have to say that the notifications take seriouly long to load, while the other tab loads in a mere second or two. I have no idea why this happens, but I hope Disqus can fix this soon. The old notifications tab loaded faster then this.
ReplyDeleteSince the notification system change, I have 4 notifications that are always listed as new although I've already checked them. No matter what I do, it always says I have "4 new notifications."
ReplyDeleteThanks! and yes i agree, but DarkUFO has heard my words plenty of times,he knows how i feel! If it was up to him he would have never made those particular changes..
ReplyDeleteLaura, you know I agree. The downvote makes me sad:(
ReplyDeleteIt still seems like the list of comments is not sorted in time posted order anymore. (A problem I noticed with the previous major update.)
ReplyDeleteMy other issue (load time) has been mentioned frequently. :-)
Oh i know sweetie! You,me and everyone else i bet! Its mostly the people who have only been here for the past few months that are doing this,we didn't have it before so now i try my hardest to just let it run off my shoulder. Most of the time it works, just think of your friends! :)
ReplyDeleteReplace the down vote with a large boot and someone's backside.
ReplyDeleteI liked it the way it was before the previous update when you could read all the replies without leaving the page. If you have replies on different pages you couldn't keep track of them.
