    What in the world is that thing on Bonnie's card? The devil/beetle/squid looking thing? Is that supposed to represent her darker side this season, because it's definitely creepy, whatever it is.

    I love the new art, though. Very creepy/cool and oddly pretty, and original, which is nice, especially coming from the CW. It's like the world's scariest and most inappropriate trading card game. Forget Pokemon or baseball cards - play with vampires and their cups of blood and demon beetle/squid pets!

    The thingy on Bonnie's portrait is super creepy! I don't understand Rebekah's new hair but maybe they are trying to make her look different from Caroline. Elijah continues to be awesome as always. The inscriptions read:
    Bonnie: Deliver us from evil
    Elijah: Blood is forever
    Rebekah: Betray's kiss is deadly

    Does someone know if these objects (sword, scepter, crescent...) have a special meaning in this season?

    They just seem symbolic of the characters. It would be pretty cool if the writers managed to work the objects into the storyline (or perhaps they're already in there?).
