"There’s a fleeting moment of Barbie bonding between Caroline (Candice Accola) and Rebekah (Claire Holt) — but it’s not long before Becks goes back to being a total bitch."
Yeah, that seems exactly like Rebekah's M.O. She shows you a glimpse of being a decent person and then does something completely awful to ruin it.
TV Line also did a "12 teases" article but it's for the first two episodes, not just the premiere: http://tvline.com/2012/10/03/vampire-diaries-season-4-spoilers/
Please do something with Jeremy this year. Something beside giving him a girlfriend and then killing her. Something that could be construed as an honest to god plotline. Please!!!
I wanted him dead in season one as well. The pissy attitude, the drugs, the Vicki drama, his hate fest with Tyler (whom I also wanted dead) it was all too much. However, by the time Anna died they had straightened out his character enough to make him easily tolerable. I've been fine with him since then.
For a long time I felt sorry for Becca. Her entire life was controlled by others.
When she was human, she was controlled by her father. After they turned she was even more controlled by her psycho brother, who daggered her for 90 years cause she wanted to leave him and have a life of her own.
1000 years, and she didn't get to live her own life for one day. I felt sorry for her.
But after she returned to Klaus, after all he did to her and her siblings and parents, she lost many points in my book. But this is too much, even for her. She kills Elena, almost kills Matt and she goes to school with them like nothing happened. Is she expecting them to be friends with her? I wouldn't hold my breath.
If she feels lonely, whose fault is it? She had the chance to make friends with Elena and the brothers, and the others. But she rather returned to her so called brother that treated her like a slave and would kill her instantly just to get his doppelganger back.
2) Him/her/it? Are they kidding? Can they be even more cryptic?
4) Damon always takes his frustration out on others. Why on Elena? Maybe he is blaming her too that she died by insisting on saving Matt first.
5) I can't wait. I must admit I didn't expect Michael to be a good Klaus. Joseph is making such a good job it's hard to imagine, someone could reach the standards he set for Klaus. But I hear very positive critics about Michael, so I'm very curious.
6) Steven in gym. Nice! Does that mean Jeremy means his hunting career serious? After all, its family legacy. But if he would be my brother, I wouldn't let him. Shouldn't at least one member of the family (actually the last living one) have sort of a normal life?
10) Barbie bonding between Caroline and Becca? Why is anyone even talking to that bitch? Why would Caroline even look at her. She killed her best friend, for Christ sake.
I like damon. All the bad things he’s done have been shown as such; he’s been punished for all of it (as he should have been), learned, and grew as a character. He’s been put through the ringer time and time again. It’s for his own good, though, so I can appreciate it. The good he’s done isn’t flaunted, like a merit badge. Sure, he’s still growing as a character and has a way to go, but this is an ongoing series after all.
I liked ric. He was haunted by a past that he couldn’t really overcome, but it propelled him forward. he tried to be there for elena and Jeremy, even if he was far from perfect.
I like the originals (excluding kol because he’s a one-dimensional character thus far). All the bad things they’ve done have been shown as such; never did the writers condone their behavior. They were punished for the bad and shown to have glimpses of something more. They are growing characters with the potential for more.
Damon and the originals and ric are layered, imperfect and interesting characters.
Before I continue and get this off my chest, no, I am not a delena fan. At all.
The relationship of stelena disgusts me. The horrible, manipulative and emotionally abusive way Stefan treated elena last season and she took him back after all of it. There was no redemption arc for Stefan, he did nothing to earn elena’s trust back or her forgiveness. Much like a battered wife, elena took him back. All the character growth of elena, all the strength she gained last season, was destroyed the moment Stefan came back. Like a virus he ate away at those qualities. the writers have to regress one character to fit with the other. And all the horrible things Stefan did were condoned by the writers; why? Because they were never shown to be his fault. It was everyone else’s! It was damon’s! it was klaus’! it was the blood addiction! The writers never held Stefan accountable. He lost nothing after all the horrible things he did. Elena still came back to him. All we get is poor sanctimonious Stefan who feels so guilty, but elena reassures him that he’s completely blameless. And plec and co. are sure to remind us in interviews that Stefan and elena are great together and poor Stefan isn’t as fault for anything—so the writers condone his behavior. Which is disgusting, them endorsing such an abusive, co-dependent relationship. Stefan is a character who’s static and never grows. He’s treated like a poor, delicate little princess by the writers. It’s like they don’t even bother to try with him. He was given the label of “hero” early on, so stefan doesn’t have to be held accountable and learn from his mistakes.
I like damon. I liked ric (but now he’s dead). I really like the originals. But they are no longer good enough reasons to watch anymore. My disgust over the horrible stelena overtakes it. So, I’m done. Thanks, plec and co.
I like Damon too. He was such an ass in the beginning but I accepted it, cause from the books I knew he will change. And he did. I liked the new Damon.
I liked Stefans dark side. It was fresh and new. Considering Stefan of S1.
And I absolutely agree with you about Elena and Stefan. After all he did, how could she trust him again, take him back? O.K., when he was under Klaus control he just couldn't help it. But after he got free he rejected her, ignored her, over and over again. If I were Elena I would stay with Damon (and not just because I AM delena fan). He was there for her when no one else was, he protected her, helped her find Stefan. And she made him a better person. She was the only one who got to see his good side. He opened himself to her by showing her a part of him that not even his own brother got to see.
And I agree that the originals story was good. But now it got annoying. Boring. The story kept repeating itself.
You don't want to watch? Why? I wasn't perfectly happy with S3, but I decided to give it a try. At least the first 3-4 eps will be interesting because of Elenas transition. Besides: I've got nothing better to do, so I'll watch. And hope, that tis season will be better.
To be fair, when someone has been cultivating habits and a personality for centuries, they aren't going to change overnight. Of course, that doesn't mean it's not extremely frustrating to see her continue to be so damn self-destructive.
I know she can't change overnight. But in S3 when she started to work with the others against Klaus I hoped, she would realize that this was her chance and that she would take it.
Self-destructive? You got a point. She keeps on following Klaus like a duckling, who treats her like shit. To him she is a slave. She accepts it and is pushing away her other siblings (for sample: after Mommy failed killing them and left, Becca could have leave with Elijah) and the people who are being nice to her. Matt, Damon, Elena (yeah, yeah, I know she stabbed her in the back – but she tried to be her friend; something Becca didn’t had since she was human).
She should finally take responsibility and live her own life. For Christ sake, Klaus made it pretty clear that he gives a shit about her (Elena and his mindless zombies were more important to him than his own sister), that was her chance to leave. She is 1000 years old – old enough to take lead over her life!
Oh wow!! I cannot wait! 1 more week! life can change in a week! :p ''2. There’s a very special surprise guest star, and long-time fans of the show will love seeing him/her/it again.''
For a long time I felt sorry for Becca. Her entire life was controlled by others. When she was human, she was controlled by her father. NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Can't wait...!!!
