The Last Ship - Eric Dane cast in Michael Bay's TNT pilot

It didn't take long for McSteamy to find new work!

Less than a week after Eric Dane's character Mark Sloan made his final appearance on Grey's Anatomy, the actor has signed on to Michael Bay's new TNT pilot Last Ship.

The plot is based on a post-apocalyptic 1989 William Brinkley novel about a navy crew who are among the only survivors on the planet after a global catastrophe. Dane will play Captain Tom Chandler, "a career Navy man and a loving father and husband who's never home as much as he'd like to be," according to TNT.

    It's like Last Resort and Revolution put together. A ship on post-appocaliptic times.
