Man...I really do NOT want this to be a found footage-style episode; we've been there and done that in a far more realistic (as in a reason to have "found footage") way with Ghostfacers. And I'm really not that big of a fan of the style. :( Hrm.
I really hope its a werewolf, we've only ever seen one... I really, Really don't like found-footage style... But I still think this episode is going to be awesome.
yeah, I know they aren't quite the same. Still I'm worried about the style. If it's found-footage there'd better be a rock-solid, unarguable reason for someone to be filming Sam and Dean conducting interviews. This style also runs the risk of featuring guest stars more than our two leads because why would someone film the guys on a hunt, unless they were a Ghostfacer type? (and does this mean no flashbacks next week?) I don't know. I'm not excited for it, but I hope I'm wrong and it turns out great.
I will reserve judgement until I have seen it, but on the face of it I don't mind SPN trying something different for an episode. The 'found footage' is not exactly original, I will admit, but still it could be an interesting way to tell the story for an episode.
Was the amulet not supposed to indicate the proximity of God? Maybe it could indicate God's Words too! I would say that that was a pretty big story-line for such a little object; then maybe its reappearance could re.trigger a new-found harmony between the brothers.
It certainlycouldn't be worse than a Blair Witch/ Ghostfacers type episode with a pack of teen college kids and probably hardly any Winchesters.
I'm sure there definitely won't be flashbacks. And yes, they said in the summary there would be less of Sam and Dean. This wouldn't be a big deal for me if the characters in the episode besides the Winchesters were ones we like and know (like with Weekend at Bobby's) but since it isn't, this is really iffy for me.
I think the writers have forgotten it by now- the amulet holds much more meaning to the fans than writers.
Plus, they've forgotten a lot of things (like the fact they never got Adam out of Hell - I know a lot of people don't care about him, but come on, he's not evil, he doesn't deserve that. At the very least they could have one sentence from an angel or something that Adam's back in Heaven somehow).
It's not the only thing that the writers seem to have forgotten unfortunately. :(
Although I wasn't a great fan of the third brother saga, I agree completely that we should have got closure on Adam. It really annoys me when the writers throw things in and then leave them hanging. They could give Sam and Dean a few lines to dwell a moment on their once brother. I mean Sam should know if he was in the Cage with him, I would think.
It would have been interesting to find out just how Adam was treated, and we know he was in the Cage because Death asks Dean which brother he wants to get out.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
This looks awesome and I can't wait!
ReplyDeleteCould go either way.
ReplyDeleteI trust Robbie Thompson. I think this will be good one.
ReplyDeletelooks like ghostfacers a bit but scaryer
ReplyDeleteWow looks very cool.
ReplyDeleteScarier is what Ghostfacers needed.
ReplyDeleteyep ...though i liked ghost facers episode but yeh i wished it were more scary
ReplyDeleteBlair Witch meets Ghostfacers? I think this one could go either way, but I'm hoping it'll surprise me!

ReplyDeleteLooked like a werewolf... haven't seen one of those since S2...
ReplyDeleteGhostfacers technically was more of a ghost hunting reality show style episode. Found footage isn't much different, but it is a little different.

ReplyDeleteI found this promo genuinely creepy. Could be the first time I find Supernatural scary in a long while.

ReplyDeleteFor a second I thought I was watching the wrong clip... lol. scary.
ReplyDeleteIt's a pity they couldn't have turned this "found footage " into "lost footage " and given us and episode about the amulet instead. :(
ReplyDeletehow exactly would the amulet even fir into the story at this time?

yeah. I am, for the first time I can remember, not excited about the next episode. :(

Actually, I like this style :-! And I'm sure that with Supernatural and werewolf it can, it WILL make an awesome episode :-D! Can't wait!
ReplyDeleteI like the look of this episode - sounds like a good case.
