  2. Best episode I've seen in a while, they are definitely making sure each character has their moment which is super important. LOVED Caroline helping Elena, she needs to get more credit for who she is. Loved the memorial, and I may have cried a little too much when Damon was talking to Alaric's grave, beautiful scene of the friendship they had and how much his death actually affects him. So glad Alaric was in that scene! I HOPE HE COMES BACK FOR MORE EPISODES! Loved this episode!

  3. Much better than last week and seeing Ric was AWESOME. Best line was from Damon(of course) telling Stefan that Elena could not even keep his blood down and the "oops, did I say that out loud?" Loved it.

  4. If Cult doesn't work out, I think he just might be back on the show in some shape or form (so many love him and he really is missed), LOL!

  5. I did not think I was going to cry, but the second I say Damon talking to Alaric's grave I started crying and then Alaric was there. That was such a beautiful scene especially give how the episode kept hinting at how much Damon misses Alaric. Having Alaric there in the graveyard was the perfect touch.

I absolutely loved it. I thought Damon was in perfect form with the snarky comments. Stefan was brilliant with the memorial. Tyler was brave in distracting the hunter. I felt so bad for Bonnie and Matt. Really liked when Matt helped Elena. He is really trying to show that he is going to make a difference with his life. Caroline and Elena had a wonderful scene. I loved how Caroline was the one to help Elena with the blood lust. I'm so curious as to why Jeremy could see the hunter's tattoo. And this new big bad. As much as I love Klaus, I didn't miss him in this episode. I loved how everything flowed together in this episode. But the graveyard scene was so beautiful, it stole the entire episode for me.

  6. The last scene was terrific!
    I never saw that coming!

  7. Another strong ep. Loved the quick progression in introducing the new hunter, (who looks like Boris Kodjoe) and April the new girl... Especially loved Caroline becoming a mentor to Elena as if her character couldn't get cooler, and great ending scene with ghosty Alaric

  8. Caroline and then the Alaric scene at the end were just best part so this episode. I was so happy to see Alaric. And when Damon told Elena the bar stool was taken. Loved it. If I never have to see Elena cry again, it will be too soon. I know it was naive of me, but I kinda expected when they made her a vampire that she'd stop with the whining and ineffectual "poor me" sacrificial so-called "compassion." I know it's wrong but I want Damon to teach her to flip the humanity switch, because I can't take much more.

  9. OMFG! Alaric! :'D
His part made me cry XD

  10. Fan of
Bambi? Guess she is. Or was?

    Interesting,
that she wasn't capable to keep anything in her. You think after 150 years Stefan
would know. But on the other side: he always was more of a loner. And he never turned
anyone. Damon of course did, but his "creations" never were on any
    diet.

    Seriously
Stefan? Champagne to celebrate Elenas first hunt? Forgot she never wanted to be
    a vampire?

I understood that she didn't want to tell
Stefan, so he wouldn't worry. She didn't want to disappoint him. And yes, he
was kind of proud and happy about her being a vampire and "handling it so
    good."

    "Peak
your meal." "I wouldn't blow them up. I'd have a dinner
party." I just love Damon. His "Oops.
Did I say that out loud?" at the church was priceless.

    Told you. In
the church Elena almost lost control with April. Twice!!! New vampires can be tricky.
Seriously Elena? In fool public? In a church? But I must say, I'm impressed by
her self-control. First time she was drinking from a human and she was able to
stop? Mostly they kill. Or have to be dragged away from the victim by another
vampire. So, I'm impressed. Guess she won't have any problems. Hope so. For now
    it looks good.

    Of course
Matt volunteered. One way of starting to make it up. IT WASN’T HIS FAULT. Stupid
Matt, just stupid. First: She could have killed him. Having a young, starving
vampire sucking on your neck? Well … It's one way to get killed. Second: He should
have someone let take care of the marks. He could have found somebody to heal
it. Soon there are gonna be more vampires than humans in town. And third:
Again: In fool public? In a church?

    The lanterns
were a beautiful idea. Simple but helpful.

    Damon
keeping Alarics seat free. Damon talking to Alarics grave. Doesn't surprise me.
Stefan is his brother. Elena the girl he loves. Alaric was his only friend.

    What happened
with Bonnie wasn't her fault. She did listen to grams. Klaus made her. She tried
to delay it. He didn't listen. He made her do it. Not her fault. But of course,
what else can we expect from Klaus. The psycho who cares for no one but
himself. Since when does he care if others have to pay the price for his actions?

    I liked
that hunter. Connor? Well prepared and organized. Good tactics too. Vervain on
the gloves and these special bullets. And although I could never approve what
he did to April, it was a good trap. But only for new vampires and those who
weren't feeding recently. Older vampires have no problems in resisting. Still. Next
time, honey, try blood bags. Works the same and you don't have to kill an innocent
    girl.

  11. I liked it
too. Well, Damon mostly acts like an ass, so it's no wonder he has no friends.
Alaric was probably his only friend.

    Snarky comments?
Like: "Peak your meal." or "I wouldn't blow them up. I'd have a
dinner party." and I just loved his "Oops. Did I say that out loud?"
    Priceless.

    Jeremy could
probably see it because he is more connected to the "other side" than
    Matt.

  12. It's just
the first few weeks. Remember the first ep when she started laughing and couldn’t
stop when she said something about crossing bridges. She is a new vampire. Senses
and emotions are going crazy right now. It'll settle. On the other hand, it's
better see her whining than turning off her humanity and going on a nice killing
spree. Don't you think? Next week she'll probably be more calm and controlled. I
    hope.

  13. There a many things I love about TVD, but whining Elena with her high-pitched pleading morality that they refer to as "compassion" isn't at the top of my list unfortunately. I like a little bite. Somewhere in the middle of the Klaus is coming arc, Elena used up her sacrificial lamb allotment. I think it was after the fifth time she stabbed herself? Oh I don't know--one of them. But by the time she was threatening to kill herself to stop Evil-Alaric, I was saturated. Couldn't take anymore. You'd think the hiatus would have helped, but for some reason, I'm just full up on poor-me Elena. The hysterics scene, wow was that bad :) and all the crying this week and the bad decision making. I think I was just overly hopeful that they'd fix her like they did Caroline and make her awesome and a vampire! I still hope it's coming. I respect the character choice, I wasn't expecting it, but I can see where they are coming from. It makes sense (the rest of the transition was blatant Twilight ripoff) so that was at least TVD specific.

If she stops soon, and they move past this, I'll be fine. If it is a continued character trait, I'll probably be sad. I'd rather have a "nice killing spree." (It sounds so church picnic when you say it, at least when you say it in my head. Would you prefer a southern accent or more upper east side?)

  14. I liked Elena in S3 right after Stefan and Klaus came back. She got so much stronger and more confident. Like a fighter. Especially, when she started to train. And as I said, this whole whining is just temporarily. She died and turned (she never wanted to be a vampire) and her emotions are nearly uncontrollable. She'll calm down.

Elena as the real vampire is coming. They didn't spend so much time on Caroline on S2 cause the show wasn't focusing on her. And don't forget that they promised us Damon and Elena going on a real hunt at this party. Ep 4, when I'm correct.

Ah, the "nice killing spree". I thought of it more like a massacre. No. Too messy. Damons "dinner party" sounded nice. Maybe without the yelling, screaming and begging. I hate that. They can compel them to stay where they are and not to fight back. But where would be the fun to that?

I'm not sure I have an accent in English. I'm from Europe. But give it any accent you like!

  15. My bad! I'm going to have to adjust my whole inner dialogue now. Well, you know what they say about assumptions. And I've got no one to blame but myself.

  16. Not sure I know what you mean.

  17. Sorry, I'm babbling a bit. It's late here. I was just apologizing for assuming you were American and giving you the wrong voice.

  18. This season is shaping up to be much better than I thought it would be. A lot of great moments in this one - Caroline stepping up to help Elena, the lantern memorial, Damon chatting with Alaric at his grave... and then Alaric actually sitting there beside him? I may have teared up... a lot.

It's going to be interesting to see how Elena (and Stefan) handles the knowledge that she's only going to be able to keep down human blood from the vein... and I wonder how long Matt is going to offer himself up as a breathing blood bag. He does feel guilty that he was saved first, so I could see him viewing this as penance.

  19. I also enjoyed "The scenery's to die for. *gasp* Funeral pun. Too soon."

  20. It's early in the morning here.

And it doesn't matter where I'm form. Not to me. I watch many of your shows.

Mostly I have to be up all night or get up way too early to download it.
Still better than to wait months till they show them here. IF. I'm still waiting for Secret Circle. For a sample.

  21. OMG!!! This episode was so great. The whole vampire hunter coming to Tyler and shooting Tyler TWICE in cold blood in front of his mom and the town was amazing I did not see that coming. I mean this new guy has no shame and I like it. I am hoping that Elena get a handle on her feeding cause as much as I can see the writers making her only to keep down human blood I am not sure that I could handle that. I love Damon, he is just being Damon. The ending with Damon talking to Alaric got me all teary eyed, I love when they show Damon and his emotions. All in all this season should be a great one maybe even the best yet.

  25. The memorial at the end was funny seeing as Damon killed half the people they were talking about

  26. Don't loose sleep over Secret Circle, I tried so hard to like that show, but just could not connect with any of the character. Did not cry or even care when it went away. Supernatural and TVD are my favorite shows.

  27. I liked Secret Circle. And I never lost sleep over it. It came right after Vampire Diaries. So I was up anyway.

Secret Circle, Vampire Diaries, Dexter, Supernatural, Lost girl, CSI, Arrow, Beauty & the Beast, Walking Dead, … The list seems endless. Although it's not my style (I don't like soaps like these) I even like Big Bang Theory. I just love those geeks.

Hey guys something doesnt make sense when connor shoots tyler the 1st time stefan pulls it out and says if you were a regular vampire you would've been killed. Well he shoots damon in the end with the exact same gun and i doubt connor would change bullets it wouldnt make sense so how did damon survive that he's a regular vampire??

  29. I was working on a healthy (and fun) level of snark to say about the episode....and then they got to the memorial sequence which the softy in me really liked. Damon talking to Alaric was the perfect caper. On top of that realization was the fact that it suddenly occurred to me that, though he would never admit it or tell Stefan...he'd realized his brother was right.

I suppose we're all supposed to pretend that the shows casting department couldn't be bothered to find extras for the explosion scene that looked more believably like members of the town council. Instead they chose a group that looked like a bunch of college drama department students who won a contest to be on a real TV show. The reason this is a problem for me is that when I watched last weeks episode I interpreted it completely wrong. Several people I spoke to said the only reason they knew they were *the* council is because of what Julie Plec said in an interview. That is simply ridiculous, lazy and so easy to avoid confusing half your audience. It's one of the reasons that I've stopped trying to convince friends to become new viewers.

I actually liked a lot about this episode. I love the vampire hunter. Well, I did until he knifed an innocent teenager. (And am I the only one who though Anna was back for a moment????) But still. He's pretty bad ass. (I hope this doesn't mean they're gonna bad ass themselves into a corner they have contort themselves to get of. They've done it before. I really hope they don't do it again.)

Caroline continues to cement herself in the position of my favorite character on this show. Damon is a close second. 'I always own up to my murders.' (or whatever that wording was)

Loved Tyler taking one for the team. Actually Tyler was awesome in this episode. Mom yelled "Tyler run." Tyler, wisely, ran. Then he came up with the plan to draw the hunter's fire so team vampire could deal with him. Awesome!

And props to Matt for stepping up and helping Elena out.

All in all a great episode.

  31. Wow that last scene with Damon and Alaric really got to me, give me some tissues please!

  32. That was my reaction, with a few exceptions I was all jaded and sarcastic going into the final graveyard scene, and then it snapped me back and I was totally on board again.:)

  33. better episode then last week! i don't like this april girl so hopefully she gets killed soon, the new hunter guy is interesting and I'm curious to find out what was going on when jeremy saw the tattoos on his arm! i loved caroline this episode!! and the last scene was sooo sad! hopefully alaric makes more of these appearances!

  36. Zack, Lexi, Alaric, Vicki, Mayor Lockwood, the Gilbert parents, Jenna, Anna, & Grams.
That's 2 out of 10 people. Three if you count turning Vicki. Still, that's a 30% kill rate. XD

  37. The scene with Damon and Alaric was heartbreaking, and i really enjoy Caroline teaching Elena to control the blood urges. Tyler and Caroline scenes: predictable, they are becoming a snoozefest. Can't wait for Klaroline!
