Great episode. Loved it all and root's backstory. I think she can still be explored more and im looking forward to when the day she returns for revenge. Having a psychotic genius hacker named root out there is a good threat to team machine. Speaking of team machine im glad we got a new recruit...BEAR! I liked the end with him bringing the book to Finch lol. Team Machine: Reese, Finch, Bear, Fusco, Carter and apparently the machine itself. Root, Agent Snow and rouge agent Stanton from Reese's past are the villains out and about for the season while Elias is locked up. Cant wait for more and maybe more villains and allys coming like zoe!
Awesome. Reese making 'friends' on Texas, Root backstory is very interesting, she manipulates every single one in this episode, she hates bad codes and influences the good codes (like team machine) work in your favor, very smart. I like the way the writers make Carter and Fusco help John each one in your time. I thinks the Washington plot will grow up very fast until half of the season.
Another fantastic ep. Great stuff for everyone on Team Machine tonight, including the newest, rare book eating member, Bear! Loved the backstory on Root and the twist that it wasn't the missing girl that everyone thought it was. Amy A definitely brings the goods as a psycho/brilliant nemesis for TM.....
They make all of the nemesis back stories interesting and fresh (although I learned my lesson from Elias and knew that Root would not be the missing girl). Amy is bringing it but I still wish Reese could've knee capped her (she took my Finch). With all of that said I miss Elias. Finch is home that is the most important thing! Oh, they finally got that drink (even though it was 8 in the morning).
Truly awesome, although that isn't saying much since every episode is awesome and it can't get any better because it's already fucking awesome. Anyway, great as usual.
Root's backstory was pretty cool and I'm glad she survived to return in the future. Is it just me, or is Amy Acker even hotter when she's evil? Anyway... I look forward to what happens when she returns and if she'll be an unseen presence we hear about from time to time until then.
The dog, Cater and Fuscoe, and the crossbow, all great.
Finch is home and now has a guard dog! XD Now if he can only teach him to eat the magazines and not the first editions!
I like that the true villains of POI (not necessarily the weekly numbers) are not easily dealt with and then put on the shelf and never seen again after a single episode. The baddies of interest tend to linger for episodes and then even when their plans are foiled, still manage to either get away or live to fight another day. It makes the villains seem far more worthwhile than most shows where they are often introduced and dealt with in the same episode.
Fun episode to be sure, but as usual the twists were fairly obvious. That's okay though since Person of Interest is less about mystery and more about good ole action fun.
Sidenote: Find out who is Reese's tailor since those suits seem to be indestructible... he must use Teflon thread and triple stitch or something!!
Keith Mars... erm... I mean Enrico Colantoniis jsut such a fun actor. One of those rare actors that can play either the warm-hearted hero or the cold-hearted villain and be equally believable!
Why do I get the feeling that Root's definition of gratitude is different from Reese's?
Awesome episode!
Am I the only person who finds it weird that an extremely well trained dog like Bear eats paper? I wonder if its a neurosis from being stuck with those white supremacists.
I agree with you about the villains but I think, for me it's a little more, with a lot of the shows I watch I find these types of villains tiresome...I don't here. i think because it's not all luck and it's not contrived. The bad guys are smart too.
Yay, Wonder boy and our friend with glasses are back together, what could be better, and New four-legged member of Great Justice league is adorable indeed,
I raised an eyebrow at Bear eating books too! XD I mean, sure nervous and insecure dogs will go on a rampage, and it was a new environment after being passed from owner to owner to owner to sitter to sitter to owner (I think I got that right).....but a highly trained dog? *Shrug*
Maybe the man who trained him had a strong dislike for Asimov? XD
ETA: I guess Belgian Malinois dogs might do that even if trained... "Belgian Malinois exhibit energy levels that are among the highest of all dog breeds. A typical Malinois will have puppy-like energy until the age of 3, though it is not uncommon for them to exhibit this energy level until the age of five. Many have excessively high prey drive. ... They can be destructive or develop neurotic behaviors if not provided enough stimulation and exercise. This often causes problems for owners who are unfamiliar with the breed and are not prepared to provide the exercise they require or a job for them to do."
Oh oh! Finch may be going for more walkies than he thinks! XD
You making me laugh !!! Yeah team is back together with a new member who has expensive taste !!! No one can stop them not even Root who will come back i am sure of that !!!
..finally reese is home, with the dog companion his faithful new bodyguard and the root agenda is more deep and darker she is hunted the bad guys but in a very different way
What I love after seeing every amazing episode of this Fantastic show, is to come here and read thoughtful comments of POI fans, really Great comments.
I know I almost always refer to him as Papa Mars but he really is versatile despite his physical appearance (I mean who knew that photographer from Just Shoot Me had such range?). I think/HOPE Root will break Elias out and they team up and start a super villain syndicate or something.
I liked Zoe's appearances too. I think Reese and Zoe should have a relationship, or at least hook up. They are both hot. Plus, there's just something with the hotness that is Reese, remaining celibate on this show for so long. ;)
Root is a pretty good villain. Glad the show didn't deal with her with just 2 episodes. She should remain a foil for Finch for at least a few more episodes, or even seasons, imo. Elias is alright too. Although, I always think of that actor as that alien from Galaxy Quest (Mathesar). ;)
Yeah, it was almost obvious from the start that the machine did not directly give Root's number. I guess giving Hanna's number was it's loophole to help Reese even though Finch has programmed it not to. But I bought it for a while there, I thought Hanna was Root for a few minutes.
Quick thinking by Finch with the tap code. He is, after all, the brains of the duo. :D
It is obvious that Root is crazy. I think she may have some sort of personality disorder. Taking revenge after all those years and the way she has been sending those books ever year after that, but not helping the police find out the truth. She made some sort of connection with Hanna and took her death as a personal tragedy. I think she has latched on to Finch in a similar way. She did not just kidnap him to get to the machine, she wanted to sort of recruit him, to convince him to help her. Even when Finch asked her to kill him just so she would stop talking to him, she almost ignored that he even said it. Willfully ignorant. But she's smart and that is what has kept her going. I suspect she will go batcrap crazy and put herself in trouble before this is all over. Let's hope she does not get too far in her plan before that happens. Or not. I am really curious about what would happen if they were to set the machine free. :D
"Truly awesome, although that isn't saying much since every episode is awesome and it can't get any better because it's already fucking awesome." haha I feel the same way. This show just seems to get better and better. 25 episodes in, still not a single bad episode.
Yeah, Root's back story was pretty cool. She is a lot more complicated, and a lot more crazier than I originally thought. And she is getting closer to the machine. She knows where it was taken to, but she was smart enough to stay back for a while and stake out the place she killed Weeks to see who shows up. She is willing to do pretty much anything and thinks a couple of moves ahead of everybody, it is just a matter of time before she gets to the machine. If the show does what they did last year and split the finale stories among the last few episodes, we may see her come back much sooner than the final episode and when she does, I'm sure she will know a lot more, perhaps even know exactly where is and may need the "admin" to alter the machine.
But does that mean this season will we finally get to SEE the machine? That would be cool.
I like how Reese made friends with the guys he beat up and even borrowed their truck. Or was he just saying that to Carter and he was gonna steal the truck? :D
lol i know what you mean. i watch the episode on Thursday night and come here Friday and Saturday just the read the comments...glad i'm not the only one:)
I was thinking that Fusco is obviously not asking many questions about how Reese and Finch get their Information because he was the one in the room interrogating Henry Peck who was giving pretty informative information about some kinda system that has been watching over everyone, and Fusco is smart, he got it, that could happen to be surprising twist in the Season 2 Finale or somewhere in the coming seasons ( I would love that), anyway usually I find myself being really surprised by the shocking twists in this show because I am so distracted by other intriguing elements of the story line. Kudos to Brilliant writers, Nolan and his buddies and LOVELY well chosen Cast of this Fantastic show, Bravo...
Good episode. There's a few things we need to overlook for storytelling purposes (Carter reads in the sherriff even though Reese stole the case files, Root leaving a paper trail with the book purchases, Root not clearing the phone screen) but still.
The machine isn't a thing that can be 'seen' as such... it's everywhere. The phones, the internet, CCTV networks, probably television and radio too, why not. Sure, Finch can access it from his terminal but I suspect he could tap into it from any terminal or device if he really needed to.
Yeah, the machine taps into everything... So looking at it that way, it's everywhere. But the machine's code and all the data is stored at once place. You can think of it as the machine's brain.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Awesome as usual. Glad Reese got to the train station in time. Interesting back story on Root.
ReplyDeleteGlad to see they're keeping the dog. Hopefully they can train him not to eat all the books. lol
amazing!!!!!

Oh Yeah...Finch is Back !!!!....cant wait till Reese takes care of Root....maybe in the Finale....
ReplyDeletebtw, how did Reese get from Texas to Maryland like in 2 secs flat?....tv editing.... lol....☺....
Amazing episode awesome as usual !!! Harold Finch is back !!!

Loved seeing Reese using his detective skills.
