Seriously how did this show get on the air??? There are promising pilots that aren't picked and each year there's drivel like this, which would already have been bad in the 80s
So, I watched the second ep ... just to see if my liking the pilot was a fluke. I liked the second ep. This show is now scheduled on my DVR. I think its the womenfolk. I almost never laugh out loud at sitcoms. The list is really short... Mike and Molly, Raising Hope, Guys with Kids. I am flummoxed at the popularity of the "hits" New Girl...not funny, The Office, Mindy Project, Friends, Scrubs. Major duds for me. I have no idea what this all says about my sense of humor...but...doesn't really matter I guess. I like The Neighbors.
I think these shows fall into a category of physical comedy that is reminiscent of the old shows of the past. This proves there is room for it nowadays. Why I like Mike and Molly, Raising Hope, 2 Broke Girls, and some times Two and a Half Men. It's comforting to know that ABC already knew what the audience reaction would be at the onset. They took a risk and it seems it will pay off.
I just watched this show online, since I found the pilot funny enough, if not needing some work still. The second ep is slightly better than the pilot. I actually laughed out loud at few times throughout the episode. If I wasn't laughing, I was at least amused by it. I like the characters, and the premise. I think the writing is actually funny. Guess this is one of those oddball shows that I like, that the masses seem not to. Hoping this show has a chance to get better and better.
I agree. I guess my sense of humor is slightly different too, 'cause I also like "The Neighbors". I have never thought that shows like "The Office" was all that funny. I find Neighbors to be generally funnier than shows like Mindy Project, which had some moments of just mean-spirited dialogue, which I did not find funny at all. At least with The Neighbors, there is generally family-friendly humor, which I like.

NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
I would not rule this show out just yet.
