Lily's dad was so cute with Marvin! (Who is also adorable.) I'm glad Marshall and Lily hired him as the nanny. And LOL at Marshall with the race track. Glad Barney was sweet enough to play the other nanny's salary!
Seems like Barney doesn't like being single anymore. (And I still can't believe the "get you off" line - three times - got past the censors.)
And wow, Robin and Ted tried way too hard to prove they were happy. LOL at Future!Ted and his "both relationships imploded within a month" line.
And holy crap at Barney sleeping with the old lady nanny! Wasn't expecting that one at all.
Worst episode of the season so far in my opinion. Enjoyed Ted and Robin's back-and-forth about their relationships, and the baby was cute, but it was mostly eh. And I wish Quinn wasn't gone...I missed her in this episode! Barney and Quinn were cute together and actually, you know, made sense.
It was an ok filler episode but I did like it Mickey was so sweet with Marvin and Marshall was hilarious with the car set and I loved the Barney and Robin interaction she's all over him and nothing hurts.
Right?! And that's not even taking into account my strong dislike of Barney/Robin as a ship. I thought Barney and Quinn had a great dynamic together. Who better to be with Barney than an ex-stripper? ;)
I'd be disappointed tonight was a rather sub par filler episode, but I have such faith in the creative minds in this show, that next week's episode will move the storyline along and get us closer to finding out the mother. There's no way a show could do 2 to 3 to 4 to 5 episodes in a row of just filler......................
I ahree with you, I wasn't particularly impressed by tonights episode. If they had a set date to finish, it would allow them to really ramp the storyline up towards an amazing finish.
Same here...I've only been watching the show for about two years (basically watched every available episode the summer before the 7th season), so it was especially disappointing for me to fall in love with the show and invest myself so thoroughly in the characters only to be presented with sub-par material. I really only continue to watch because I want to see where those characters I became invested in end up. I'm pretty much 100% confident that if I came across the more recent bits of the show just flipping through the channels, I wouldn't continue to watch it. Sad reality, but true. That's why I'm hoping the writers pull something incredible out of their sleeves to send it off as a tribute to how clever of a show it used to be.
I think I've reached a good point however Amy, where I've just given up on the show and now will watch it in almost an ironic sort of way. The funny thing is, if it wasn't for finding out who the mother is, I wouldn't think twice of ever watching a second of this show anymore. If that wasn't the biggest plot device, this should would be off the air. Monday's suck, and this show helps me get my anger out now lol.
I think Jason Segel hinted pretty hard at wanting something fresh in his career and considering they've all but destroyed his character, unless they offer him just a dump truck of gold and money, I can't see him coming back. The worst part is, this show doesn't even know if it's coming back so it won't even get to do it's ending right because it's going to be soooo rushed. But at least we get to find out the mother!!!! That is the only thing that gets me through these cold, winter nights
i am enjoying this season much more than i thought i would. I loved this one almost as much as i loved pre-nup. Seriously, it was soo cool. I loved the Lilly and Marshall storyline with the nannies, really enjoyed the Barney connection (and the ending scene, god!!), and the ted and robin subplot was also good. Very solid one!
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

I really didn't like it :(

ReplyDeleteI miss Quinn too....
ReplyDeleteI wnted her to be the bride!
It was just okay tonight. I did love seeing Mickey with baby Marvin, though... and I still think that baby is one of the cutest in the universe.

ReplyDeleteYeah! right right!!!
ReplyDeleteThey had a really gr8 chemistry... and they had legendary sex :)

ReplyDeleteI couldn't stop laughing at Barney sleeping with the old nanny 5 times at the end of ep
ReplyDeleteI don't usually say this about the show, but this was a really poorly written episode. I barely laughed throughout it, and the plot was really weak.

ReplyDeleteAgree yet again, Mitch.
ReplyDeleteFunniest episode so far!

ReplyDeleteI actually laughed quite a bit more than the previous two episodes. I have to say I quite enjoyed this episode
