  2. WOW, was totally thrown by that ending! Kudos to the writers for bringing that out from left field! the mind reels on how the rest of this season is gonna go..

  3. I'd like to say I was surprised by Carrie blowing the operation, but......
Seriously, has she EVER done as ordered? I guess I assumed it would take longer than one episode for her to break down/ give into her paranoia/ get her revenge etc.

Last year when pondering how a Season 2 would play out I wondered if they wold try to turn Brody and use him to get Abu Nazir since that would be one way to keep Damien Lewis on the series. Now that Brody is maybe the most alienated from his family since his return from captivity it seems like the least opportune moment to try to bring him over to "our side". It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

I'm really not sure how I feel about this turn of events... yet. I need to put this episode in context once more of the season has played out and I can see where this all fits into the seasonal arc I guess. I'm glad they are not going in circles and going after Brody for the bulk of Season 2, but I expected him to be under surveillance for multiple episodes honestly.

Count me as one that really enjoys the Dana Brody scenes and even this bad boy phase she seems to be going through. It adds a lot of context to every arc this season. The insight gleaned from the VP's son, or insight gleaned from her by the VP's son, adds levels of danger to every relationships Brody has.

Count me as one that does not enjoy the Jessica Brody scenes.... Her acting has been good, but I do not like the cyclical sexual tension with Mike rubs me wrong.... However, I did like Mike and the young Chuck Norris looking Lauder bumbling their way through Brody's connection to the CIA and Abu Nazir. XD

I also really enjoyed Rupert Friend's addition to the series. He plays such a good prickly bastard! XD

This is definitely one episode I will need to look back on to judge, but at least it was better than last week on first viewing. It sets a lot in motion and now I begin to wonder how Season 3 would play out.... How would they keep Brody around for Season 3 now? Oh well, It's time to enjoy Season 2 and put future season theories on hold....

  4. That was mesmerizing. Say what you want about this show but it is not afraid to burn through storylines and revelations most other shows reverse for finales.

It was really satisfying to see Carrie vs Brody again, they have a lot of chemistry and its no surprise the writer of this episode penned the glorious 'Weekend' episode from last season. I know some people well say Carrie rushed in but that is how she is and part of the reason is because she wants to stop the next attack but a huge part of it is her need for revenge and after everything that happened to her you can understand why.

I've been thinking for a while that they will turn Brody and get him to work as a triple agent and that could still happen but then again this is Homeland and they way they are right now they could kill Brody off by episode 8.

  5. WOW. That ending just kinda creeps up on you! Was not expecting that to happen so soon, or at all!

I agreed with Carrie on this one. I think her visible anger about the ECT spooked Brody and probably would have tanked the op anyway.

"Count me as one that really enjoys the Dana Brody scenes....."
I enjoy Dana as well but I wish they'd find a way to bring her back into the main plot like they did last season. Maybe they have but they're just not there yet?

"Count me as one that does not enjoy the Jessica Brody scenes as much...."
I like the Jessica character and Baccarin's performances except when Mike is involved. I never warmed up to his character and I still don't like him.

"How would they keep Brody around for Season 3 now?"
I'm not sure they will. He may be dead by the end of the season.

"I also really enjoyed Rupert Friend's addition to the series. He plays such a good prickly bastard! XD"
I'd enjoy him more if I wasn't so sure he's just a future love interest for Carrie.

  8. I may agree with Carrie on outing Brody too...
I'm not positive he knew, but if there was a chance she was blown it was far more risky to let Brody plan or alert others.

So many of Jess's scenes have been with Mike this year so that is part of my problem honestly...

IT certainly does seem they are setting up Quinn with Carrie... or at least laying the groundwork. I will give them some leeway on it for now, but it could easily go down those all too familiar roads that feel so overdone.

I think Dana will be part of the main Brody plot later in the season. I'm guessing something she says or does will get from her bf FInn to his dad the VP and it will pull her into the main plot more. I'm not sure if it will be positive or negative for Brody just yet though....

Sounds like indeed Peter may be a love interest for Carrie, which is a shame as I love the love/angst relationship between Carrie & Brody. But not sure how long they can keep him around.

As for Jess, I'm not found of her. The acting is great, for sure. It's the character that I don't love. She is so ... in another planet. That's the point, I know. The writers manage well. I feel like Dana understands things a lot better than her mother.

  10. I don't believe they'd kill Brody off. He's too praised and liked by fans to be killed off. And then Carrie would carry (no pun intended) the show alone.

Maybe they do kill him off and create a *holy shit* moment in the season finale, OR in 3rd season, Brody's cover is blown publicly and he's a full-time worker for Abu Nazir like Walker was.
OR he crosses to the good guys side or something else.

    I guess we'll see.

  11. holy crap... this season has been so brilliant. all the awards to homeland, like, right now. I never thought they would arrest brody this far. What will the show do now? I am sure they have a huge game plan, I just have no idea what it is. And the performances... jeez. Damien brody and claire danes were nothing short of terrific. They always shine, but in the presence of each other they shine way more than usual. They bring out the best out of each other. The hotel room scene... One of the best pieces of tv I have seen lately.

  12. I also like the dana brody scenes very much. it is very surprising for me than in an episode liek this, when the alternative of watching her scenes is watching the incredible scenes between claire danes and damien lewis i still find myself watching her scenes very much, but i do. Adds a lot of context to the show, it's great. The mike scenes, although i like him, were just very meh. In any other show they would do just fine, but on homeland they just seem too weeak
