Great episode but a little disturbing, did we really need to hear about the animals going after Lexie, that wasn't necessary Shondra. Lexie dying was bad enough but you had to add that to it,well it sucked....
Man Mark i couldn't believe what he went through holy shit,Arizona too, wow, pretty heavy crap went down tonight, thank god next week is suppose to be a light episode.
I still think this episode should have happened last week,we have now been going through this for over 4 months...that is asking a lot from your fans Shondra, lets get on with life..
Sandra Oh is perfection- the scene in tub CHILLS!! Jessica Capshaw- so refreshing to see another side of her, she had like that not over b** attitude but just the right amount if that makes since, it just worked! Sara Ramirez- jumping from emotion to emotion was unbelieveable good grief This episode had so many highs and so many lows and i was into all of it!
THAT (Lexie being marmoset food) was twisted. Reminded me of a time I ripped most of the skin off the front of my shin during a game. My buddy's wife had a chihuahua and he tried to make my leg his lunch. Very dark episode. Almost the kind you can't come back from as a writer. Gotta re-watch, though as I kept getting interrupted during Sloan's scene. So I have no idea what killed him. (Other than the fall!) Maybe the vibrating palm? (Bruce Lee fans only!)
I just thought this episode would have been a good time to get familiar with all the newbies.
And it is nice to see the chick from Napoleon Dynamite is something!
Great episode!! The only thing that thought it was missing was mer grieving over lexie's death. I really wanted to see her get emotional over her sister's death, at the very least seen her funeral or something. I don't know, I felt like she hardly even addressed it.
Someone bring Oh an Emmy, seriously. That scene in the bathtub has to be one of the most disturbing I have seen lately. And Sandra was flawless, as usual.
I'm really happy that Grey's still experiments with its style.
I know that there were animals trying to feast off Lexie, and it made sense. That is how the animals in those woods survive. Leaves a nasty thought of what haappened
I liked the episode less than I liked the premiere.Maybe if this had been the first episode of the season I would have felt different. But we already knew what was gonna happen so it wasn't as thrilling as it should have been. The flashback in the flashback made no sense-it was like a dream sequence;no logic, just pictures. However, despite all of its flaws,I like the 'Lost' reference, I cried when Mark was signing the papers and when he said '30 days' and I think Sandra Oh and Jessica Capsaw 's performances were flawless!
Great episode but it should've been the first of the season. Because of the first episode we knew what happened (mark dying, arizona without her leg, derek not completely recovering and christina with PTSD...) and I think it's a shame, that could have been more dramatic and surprising. Anyway loved christina in the bath (sandra killed that scene), the lost reference, arizona and callie, Alex feeling guilty... But I hope that the next episodes will be better because grey's was so much than that (Ps = definitely not cool from Shonda to talk about lexie's body being eaten )
Why oh why Shonda? Killing Lexie was not horrible enough, you had to add wolves eating her face off as well? As soon as Ellen Pompeo and Sandra Oh leave this series i'm never watching it again. It sucks, i'm only watching for the actors at this point, acting = flawless = writing = shitty and going down hill FAST.
It was amazing. The execution was really god and so was the writing but i have to say that the aactors gave mind blowing performances. Sandra Oh being the standout with the incredible bathroom scene, it gave me chills. I hated the idea of Lexie being eaten by animals though, that was awfully twisted. I love Grey's, say what you may about the flaws of the show and how it lost spark or whatever, i enjoy it immensly every week.
I didn't say it doesn't happen i know it does, all i said is it wasn't necessary.People were so upset about Lexie dying as it was Shondra didn't have to go there, there was no need for it..
It was dark, and i don't know what Mark died of either i was hoping i would read it here.I don't plan on a re-watch,not yet so let me know if you find out!
Who said anything about Ellen Pompeo and Sandra Oh are leaving? Shonda Rhimes said a few months ago, that there wouldn't be a Grey's Anatomy without Meredith in it.
Ellen and Patrick have both pretty much said that they have two more seasons left, they were going to leave in season 8 but got offered alot more in contract negotiations. Unless they are offered way way more after season 10, Grey's will be over. Lets face it, its hanging on by an inch of its life as it is. I love Greys, I really really really do but the writing and storylines have gone way down, they keep having these dramatic episodes with major characters dying.. then virtually no mention of the character again.
For the life of me I cannot work out why that was episode 2 and not 1. SO MUCH BETTER! The mysteries of last weeks opener would have been mysteries in tonights, so there was no point in doing that.
If this was first it would have also made me like last weeks episode a lot more, too.
Damn that was good. Dark, fast-paced and amazingly acted (let's not forget Sara Ramirez's performance as well as Oh's and Capshaw's).
Exactly, Grey's is not ER. Its about the characters who happen to be doctors.. not a show about doctors who happen to be people. The writing is getting a little bit silly, apart from the originals (Grey, Shepard, Yang, Hunt, Webber, Baily, Alex) I don't really care for the character development of the other characters anymore, which is sad. I don't think they will ever recapture the magic of seasons 1-5
As dissatisfied as I've been with the last season or so, I've got to say... Sandra Oh has had some seriously brilliant material. She gave me chills Thursday night.
I rewatched episode 1 and 2 again yeasterday and now I have more questions than I did before. Did anyone else notice that Callie didn't go to Boise but Zola did? The sequence of events confused me a little. Also why wouldn't Shonda tell Arizona's part of teh story the first time Alex goes into the OR to tell Callie she is crashing instead of at the very end of the episode so that the same scene is repayed twice. I don't get it. I also didn't understand why Callie honestly to me seemed more worried about Mark for most of the episode than she did Arizona. Best part of the episdoe was Christina- other than that I couldn't care less and Christina is not my favourite character.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
I loved it. And holy crap, it took an unexpectedly dark turn when Cristina was telling Owen about what happened.
ReplyDeleteAnd oh God, Mark. That hurt. As did Callie/Arizona. And angry at Arizona for blaming Alex when it wasn't his fault.
Great episode!
It was an amazing episode, very dark for sure but I really enjoyed it. I did not enjoy learning that Lexie was eaten by animals, however.
ReplyDeleteYeah!! me neither!!

Still crying. But I loved it.

awesome like off the scale awesome
ReplyDeleteAnd that tongue lashing from Arizona could be enough to turn him back into Bad Alex.
ReplyDeletetotally agree spart, Sandra's bathtub scene was chilling to the bone.
ReplyDeleteI'm still crying It was so sad Mark's death I mean why did Shonda Rimes do that? Anyway Sandra Oh was amazing she really is.
ReplyDeleteGreat episode!! The only thing that thought it was missing was mer grieving over lexie's death. I really wanted to see her get emotional over her sister's death, at the very least seen her funeral or something. I don't know, I felt like she hardly even addressed it.
ReplyDeleteI have this idea that they are saving that for later, that shoe is yet to drop.

ReplyDeleteThe biggest problem I had with the show--It should have been the FIRST episode

ReplyDeleteIt was dark, and i don't know what Mark died of either i was hoping i would read it here.I don't plan on a re-watch,not yet so let me know if you find out!
ReplyDeleteYes, didn´t need to know that! Horrible thing to do!
ReplyDeleteShe is just hiding her emotions, that's why she's being so mean to her interns. Her emotions will surface in later episodes, I think.
ReplyDeleteI cringed when Cristina was saying that.
ReplyDeleteShe already explained why she did that on shondaland.com last week, after the premiere aired.
ReplyDeleteWho said anything about Ellen Pompeo and Sandra Oh are leaving?

In my mind I always thought of Grey's having no more than 10 seasons.

ReplyDeleteindeed my friend
ReplyDeleteYeah, that was one of the biggest TMIs EVER. I feel like they just trampled on her character.
ReplyDeleteAs dissatisfied as I've been with the last season or so, I've got to say... Sandra Oh has had some seriously brilliant material. She gave me chills Thursday night.
ReplyDeleteGave it an okay.... A little boring... we already knew what was gonna happen... Overhyped... disappointing...
ReplyDeleteSo good!! Sandra was amazing!!!
ReplyDeleteI liked when Bailey said that they were gonna crash on an island and get attacted by a polar bear. :-) Miss Lost.
ReplyDeleteI rewatched episode 1 and 2 again yeasterday and now I have more questions than I did before.
