  2. I'll keep watching to the end for Tom's sake and for little Sybil, but it won't be the same without Sybil. :( Darn you Fellowes why did you have to go and kill off my favorite of the women on this show? I'm hating Robert so hard right now and right on Cora for telling him off! *excuse me while I go sob in the corner*

  6. This is one of those episode's that I just don't know how to rate, it was "Heartbreaking" to have Sybil die in childbirth and I hate them for doing so but it was also one of the most powerful episode's this show has ever had. The only way I know how to do it (if I could) is give this one an awesome and awful at the same time. We will miss you Lady Sybil..

  9. I think this episode drove the point home that childbirth used to be quite dangerous 100 years ago. I mean we all sort of know it but forget. Also, that they gave no painkillers or anything to buffet the pain! Has "call the midwife" started? (Haven't thought to check) All I could think seeing Sybil in that bed was how unsanitary it was, and I was shocked they left her in the same nightgown even after the delivery. Of course Robert would think a titled doctor used to delivering high society ladies would know better than a country doctor (and he did have a point about misdiagnosing Mathew, Lavinia, not to mention that local man). Of course Cora would believe in people she knows over titles or knowledge.

  11. I was sobbing the whole time (and I was spoiled for the death from reading this thread ;))-- it was just brilliant acting all around!

  12. others than I think that the story will go on with Mary not being able to have children and adopting Tom's and Sybil's newborn?

  13. I quite agree. It was a heart-wrenching scene, which made it an excellent episode because of the writing and acting, but at the same time, it was awful because Sybil was my favourite! They could just kill off Robert and let Matthew become the heir!

  14. Yea I would rather have seen Robert gone as well. I wouldn't miss him very much. Sybil was one of my favorite's too.
