I'm trying very hard to get interested in this show but it's not happening. I think it was a bad idea to put it on after Revenge. I was still 'shell shocked' from the Revenge show to be interested in 66 Park Avenue.
it's great to see Terry O'Quinn in anything! but this role seems to really suit him. i did take the Patsy Cline lyric "see the sunrise on a tropic isle" as we first saw him in tonight's ep as a Lost shout-out though.
just Loved this epi.....the show is getting better and better....so what does Locke have?...a Fountain of Youth for ladies?, lol....i Love that Twist especially when she looked at the mirror.... Loving the Mystery of the Drake and how Locke is running it as the Devil.....i especially Loved the 1950's love music in the epi....and OMG, the ending...that poor girl is sure nosey, always getting locked in rooms, lol.....☺.....
Last night's epi was freaky twisty fun. Whats-her-face is too nosey for her own good. But then she is from the Midwest and not used to being in a big city where you have to watch your back. Bring on the demon deals.
hmmm. I'm not quite sure how I feel about this ep. I'm convince (and have been since the trailer) that O'Quinn is all but the devil. {There will be a scene, if the show runs long enough, where we'll see a picture of him back when the building was built.}
I'm having trouble getting interested in the characters. I think i'd be happier if I didn't feel like the characters affected by the goings on were going to be an endless parade of one off guest stars. What do I care if an exterminator is killed by birds, or if some chick I"m never going to see again kills the guys who do her wrong.
The blond chick (manager) keeps pushing my 'she's an idiot button' Really, you're going to have a major wall knocked down without consulting the owners? After someone wisely points out...that there's a *reason* the concrete was put up in the first place? Then you just go wondering in...without telling anyone. If this were the non-Satan inhabited world...what if the structure in there were dangerous...you fall or are trapped by debris...no one knows you're in there. I like smart characters..and she just feels like an idiot to me. An archetype this genre thrives on, I know, it just irritates me.
I think what I think would be pulling me in more at this point would be if we were getting to know more recurring residents. So far its just the couple (neither are remotely likable. I know there's bad coming from their blond but I don't care) the psychic girl (interested in her a little but they're taking too long to get to it) and the guy at the desk. If we'd spent the second episode finding out more about them instead of the killer lady...I might be getting interested instead of getting bored.
It was no surprise to me that the women was the killer after Olivia asked Gavin who was living in the apt where the murder happened seeing as they knew each other quite well at the party.
In the pilot Gavin said that they would use her (the blonde wife) to get HIM (her husband the lawyer) Sorry I don't remember all the names yet. My feelings are this...if you can remember the picture that blondie found with all the people sitting around the dragon in the basement..I will bet that Gavin needs replacements every once and a awhile and maybe somewhere back in tim that lawyer is related to one of the people in the photo and has to take his rightful place in the counsel. It just seems to me that Gavin needs special people to use...the ESP girl..the Man killer..the seductress..each one has a certain gift that Gavin either gave them or they were born with. The lawyer was tested by Gavin and was found to have integrity...CAN BE ENTRUSTED WITH A SECRET!!!! .....It's just my thoughts ..have a great day all.
Finally caught up off the dvr, and enjoyed this ep quite a bit more than the pilot and definitely do see a lot of potential with this show, but for some reason it doesn't grab and hold my interest as much as another creepy show (but with way more blood) American Horror Story... I hope that they can get some good development on the other recurring characters like the front desk guy and the creepy klepto psychic girl sooner than later
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
I really liked this episode! It was better than the pilot.
ReplyDeleteThe birds were creepy, and whoa at that lady being a murderer.
Wow at that cliffhanger! Wasn't expecting that.

ReplyDeleteHe could also be some sort of Cross-Roads type demon.
ReplyDeleteBetter than the pilot. Awesome for me, the mitology grow a lot in this episode, can't wait for more.
