    Are we meant to cheer for Charming here? Because punching someone in the face without warning is the manly man thing to do? Whale is a slimy creep, but he really didn't know who Mary Margaret was and Charming, who slept with Kathryn more than once, has no high ground to speak of in this situation.

    That was the punch Ausiello was talking about? He really over-hyped it. Anyway, I was just thinking how amused I would be to see Charming stay on as a deputy once Emma returns. It would be hilarious for Emma to be her dad's boss.

    While I'm a little upset that Charming just full-on punched him even though he knew there was a curse...I can kind of see why. Think of it this way -- would you be terribly happy with the person your wife/husband was "cheating on you" with? I know Whale was cursed and he didn't know better, but as a husband under a LOT of stress what with Mary Margaret and his daughter gone...I feel like I can forgive him a little bit, even though he deserves just as much of a punch because of the way he acted during the curse...:/

    Wow people are really ragging on Charming. Was it right for him to punch the guy? No. But was it completely understandable? Hell yes! They were cursed and Whale didn't know, that's fine. But there's a HUGE difference between the logical point of view, which is just to forget about it because they were cursed, and the illogical, COMPLETELY human point of view that he's pissed someone else slept with his wife.

    But so few of you are seeing the difference. If Daniel didn't understand that the curse made them all do things they'd never do, then he'd kick Whale's ass. The fact that he only punched the guy shows that he does understand, but Charming soooo isn't the kind of guy to just let that pass without some kind of action.

    Give the guy a break. Way too many of you are always quick to jump on the hate train when it comes to this guy. Whale didn't deserve that punch, but you're thinking too logically about it. Humans aren't logical. We're emotional creatures, and emotionally Daniel needed to respond to the image of the woman he loves in the arms of another man.

    There's a fine line between understanding and accepting.

    They're trying too hard to make him completely different from David lately. I can see where they are taking the "we are both" approach with the other characters, but Charming only slipped from one extreme into another.

    Thing is I loved him in FTL in "lady of the lake" but I just really can't seem to warm to him in Storybrooke. I agree it's like they are trying too hard to make him completely different to David but all they are doing, for me anyway, is making me dislike him a lot.

    I know a lot of people are saying that Charming should not have punched Whale but come on he deserved it, I mean yes they were cursed but I mean if you think about where the story is headed, I think of the punch as well deserved cause it seems like Whale will do something in the future that will make that punch so worth it. So I like to the punch "Charming's insight into the future" LOL!!!

    No need to apologize, I just thought it would be so awkward if Charming's name was Daniel, lol.
    Btw, you're completely right, humans often act on emotion, passion rules reason. There are so many examples of this in the show, even the central conflict Regina/Snow White.
    That said, I understand why people are annoyed - after all, Charming is supposed to be "the hero" and he perceives himself as such, he thinks he is superior to most. He perceives himself as noble, brave and invincible, but his actions show that he is just as fallible as everyone else.

    I hope there is some throwaway line in the ep where he says, "so&so took me to the gun range or what have you" or even better...there arises a situation where he has to use the gun but goes, "WTF? I don't even know how to use this thing". LOL.

    But I'm sure it'll never be mentioned.

    Yes!! I hope when Emma gets back they continue to work together at the police station. There has been a severe lack of Emma/Charming bonding since the show started so I hope all of that changes once they're back together.
