Meanwhile, ABC has given additional episode orders to the series that spawned Private Practice, veteran Grey’s Anatomy (two episodes for a 24-episode order), as well as established comedies Modern Family and The Middle (two episodes each) and mystery dramedy Castle (one episode).

    Good for Modern Family and Castle. Grey's is not a surprise, considering the ratings it's getting. It'll probably be renewed again because ABC wont cancel two of Shonda's shows in one season. The Middle is a steady performer so happy that it's being given an extension.

    aside from modern family castle is the best show in ratings there so why only the 1 episode order, don't get me wrong loving 23 episodes but would be in love with 24!

    The cast and crew asked for more vacation time, hence 23 episodes last year. I think it's the same for this year.

    yeah Grey's it's not a surprise!but anyway it's awesome! hope we can get or 2-hour season finale this year! Grey's works much better this way!
    and it's great that Castle got another episode! :D
