Game of Thrones - Season 2 - Paul Schiraldi Production Stills
Oct 2, 2012
Game of ThronesThis is an awesome post to whet your appetite for Season 3 of Game of Thrones!! Over 150 production stills from Season 2, many of which never before seen. Some of the scenes captured did not find their way to the episode aired on HBO.
I've only posted a small selection of stills, but the full collection can be seen in the SpoilerTV Photo Archive or by visiting Paul Schiraldi Photography.
Paul Schiraldi was sent to Dubrovnic, Croatia to cover the scenes being filmed there for Game of Thrones. The terrain to the sets was physically exhausting and the scene were a challenge on their own. Some scenes were filmed in the dessert. Other scenes were lit only by a single torch. While some were lit with an entire candelabra. Paul Schiraldi captured every possible image needed to promote the episodes.

One photo of note.... Yes that is Doreah strangling Irri.
ReplyDeleteAwesome stills!
Seriously, the strangling, when did that happen?
ReplyDeleteWhen they were stealing the dragons?
We can assume so yes.
ReplyDeleteThe still name suggests it is from Episode 5.... They filmed the scene and decided not to include it for one reason or another. It certainly would have spoiled the tension of who stole the dragons had that scene been included. Nice to see it turn up eventually......
Now I wonder if we will actually get a deleted scene on the BluRay discs this year.....
Yeah, all we saw was Irri's dead body, and we had no idea what happened to Doreah yet.
ReplyDeleteLike Darque said, these stills are awesome! It all looks so real... like tourist photos of some strange foreign country. :p
My evening is sorted.
ReplyDeleteSo true!
ReplyDeleteA number of them look similar to National Geographic covers or some other magazine like Time etc....
Wow! These are fabulous! Makes me want S3 NOW! ha!
ReplyDeleteWhen does S3 start? March?
Thanks for sharing! Now i have the itch to watch ...again!
ReplyDeleteIT's started in April the last tow years, April 17 and April 1, so I would guess end of March at the earliest and likely beginning of April some time.
ReplyDeleteDang. These are much better than your average production stills. They're all quite striking and who doesn't like a good high resolution strangling? :)
ReplyDeleteIsn't that second picture from season 2?
