FX has put in development an untitled coming-of-age comedy from Shine America and Electric Dynamite, Jack Black's company. Steve Agee (The Sarah Silverman Program) and Rob Schrab (Childrens Hospital) are co-writing the project, said to be tonally similar to cult fave Freaks and Geeks. It is based on Agee's childhood experiences at a military academy in the 1980s.

Why does it have a Community tag ? Three reasons :
1 - Jack Black guest-starred as Buddy in Investigative Journalism (episode 1.13).
2 - Rob Schrab directed the Law & Order episode, Lupine Urology (episode 3.17).
They worked with Dan Harmon on Heat Vision and Jack - watch this 1999 unaired pilot, it's genius.
3 - Steve Agee was a series regular on The Sarah Silverman Program, which Sarah Silverman co-created with... Rob Schrab and Dan Harmon.
So you see, there's a pattern involving Community here, and that's why I'm talking about this pilot in development. Besides, we're talking about FX comedy here : as long as Charlie Sheen isn't involved, it's awesome.
