The Fringe team responds to recent devastating events, and a key member makes a pivotal and shocking move in the all-new “An Origin Story” episode of FRINGE airing Friday, Nov. 2 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT). (FR-505) (TV-14 L, V)
Cast: Anna Torv as Olivia Dunham; Joshua Jackson as Peter Bishop; John Noble as Walter Bishop; Lance Reddick as Phillip Broyles; Blair Brown as Nina Sharp; Jasika Nicole as Astrid Farnsworth
Guest Cast: Georgina Haig as Henrietta/Etta

So episode 4 has devastating results.
ReplyDeleteAnd we have to wait 2 weeks to watch it because of...............................BASEBALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well, that's almost too big of a spoiler. It paints such a word picture that I can practically see the entire episode in my mind right now. Is there a word for something so spoilery that the spoiler lovers can't even handle it? Because that's what we have here.
ReplyDeleteAll of my grumpy, why-am-I-still-awake-right-now sarcasm aside, I'm wondering if they mean generally devastating (aka, something that the Observers did to the world that hurt the natives) or if this something that happened specifically to the team, maybe in the next episode. Also, Walter shot Olivia in the head. Twice. How much more shocking does it get?
That's why we have to wait for the results? Didn't baseball interfere with Fringe last year? I seem to recall why I don't care for baseball at all.
ReplyDeleteI'm somehow thinking this key member is maybe Broyles, but it could be Astrid or maybe Etta but honestly since we haven't even seen 504 I can't even speculate as to what that is yet. I was hoping this ep would shed some light onto Etta and how she found out who she was and what instigated her to investigate her origins. Maybe it's more origins of the Observers related, then. It's too vague, as usual, to really tell what it all alludes to, to me.
ReplyDeleteyes it did. But for goodness sake this is it. We don't get any more after these 13 precious episodes.Don't they know what's at stake. We are being invaded and not even sport should interfere with that, hell cancel Xmas as well.
ReplyDeleteI'm scared someone is going to die, its the final season anything could happen.
ReplyDeleteI think it will be Olivia, she has, is the origin story for Etta and who and what she is.
ReplyDeleteOh thank God we don't have any more breaks after this one. Based on everything they've been saying about Episode 4 and how big it'll be or whatever, I would've more expected a break after that episode not before it.
ReplyDeleteAnd damn straight! This is war! We have been invaded! Sports must be stopped for this. But Christmas... that's a hard one to let go... but this is Fringe, so I'd allow it. There's only a handful of shows I would drop Christmas for (Fringe and Community).
OK maybe Xmas but sports, c'mon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
ReplyDeleteSoo....
ReplyDeleteThis is why Georgina Haig was ever announced as series regular, right??
She's somehow going to leave here! I can't believe this!
*Let see...
ReplyDeleteOh I know someone is pressing the red button accidentally and the whole World goes Kaboom!. FOX is telling us 'Sorry it was just only 5 epi's instead of 13, it was a mistake'. Everyone goes bonkers and tadaahhh there is Bell with the switch and turns everything back to normal. They were all just puppets on a string...
Now I know why they never hired me for writing an episode.... *scratches her head* ♥
I'm not even going to speculate,i don't want to think who it could be...
ReplyDeleteDon't forget Thanksgiving...and while you guys are on the subject we also have New Years week...
ReplyDeleteMe, I'd drop Thanksgiving for Fringe and Community, but I know a lot of people love Thanksgiving so I'll agree with that one. New Years Eve and Day maybe, not week.
ReplyDeleteI'm not crazy about that week either but New Years eve lands on a Tuesday, most people will be taking that week off,and the networks usually run repeats that week.Maybe they worked it out with Fox and we won't have to wait?
ReplyDeleteHmm valid point, people would take that week off. We can hope though, right? Think Chuck in it's final season went straight through, why not Fringe?
ReplyDeleteDevastating event? It definitely sound like someone is going to die, but I think it's anyone's best guest as to whom.
ReplyDeleteI don't think it will be Peter.
The epiosde before this seems Broyles centric and I kind of think there could be something brewing there between Etta and Broyles...
On the other hand that 23 showed up with Olivia again at the beginning of the season and I expect her arc to be about sacrificing herself for her daughter, hence the former episode title again about 'the bullet that saved the world', as Etta is one that has been carrying the weight of that bullet.
But it also says a "pivotal" and "shocking" move...In some ways Walter could be considered pivotal because he is the only one who can understand 'the plan'. But pivotal can also be about one that "moves" or changes position a lot, like an Observer, which if the Observer comes to save one of them, would be shocking since we haven't seen a nice one (like September!) yet...
Good point!
ReplyDeleteMy theory the "devastating events" is something happens to Etta when seh falls down the loft thing in the preview for 5/04 and we get her “An Origin Story” what happened after she was taken while Peter "a key member makes a pivotal and shocking move" rebels/takes out aggression on the observers/baldies/invaders
ReplyDeleteI don't get what the thing with the 23 is can you explain please.
ReplyDeletetwo weeks for TBTSTW three weeks for Origin story
ReplyDeleteSure. Ever since Lost, when the number "23" appears, it usually is an easter egg that a character is going to die, or be in a near death situation, as facing death is at the heart of Jack Sheppard, #23
ReplyDeleteThe week before last in Revolution the character Maggie (like Jack a doctor) is able to momentarily turn on her iphone and look at the pictures of her kids. The time the phone said was 6:23 (and Heard it to the Grapevine was playing-->"not much longer would you be mine...") Last Monday she died.
In Fringe the episode "Wallflower" Olivia almost fell to her death chasing after U-Gene while either in apartment 23 or the 23rd floor (I can't remember which, just remember it was there). All of season 4 played on the idea of "death of Olivia" via Mr. X (William Bell), although the amber Olivia sort of did die, as our Olivia took her place. The number appeared again in 5x01. Plus Eric Lang guessed on 5x02...his LOST character, Radzinsky the swan builder, had photographic memory and committed suicide, this could parallel Olivia's behavior (Jack was suicidal too), as she has an "innate" need to save other people's lives.
I don't know if FOX has given official dates yet, but Wyman had twittered the finale might air in February...so I could see us getting like 3 more after this break (as episode 9 might be a game changer) and then I could see us finishing up at the end of January into the first week of February....But as far as I know Fox hasn't announced all the dates...
ReplyDeleteI know that they said Fringe was ending February 2nd. Here's the link to the tv.com article with it, seems to be that someone's twitter account was the source of this information but for now it's what we have to go on.

Thank you for finding the link! (:
ReplyDeleteYou know i never thought about the episode being about September, that would be nice to have an episode about him with flashbacks and flashforwards.I would like to know more about him considering he has been with us since almost the beginning... I just realized i consider September as close to a team member as an Observer can get..
