Broyles is back only five episodes in? Hopefully he'll be a key player for the remainder of the season.
ReplyDeleteNow that i think about it where has Broyles been?
ReplyDeleteThis is the fourth episode. And well it makes sense considering they said the season had 3 acts. So the first 4 episodes would lead into the return of Broyles and Nina, I had imagined.
ReplyDeleteEver so vague, as always. I'm excited about the return of Broyles, I knew he'd come back into the fray within the first few episodes.
ReplyDeleteFor God's sake. Fox (or whoever responsible) put Georgina Haig as Cast, not Guest Cast).
ReplyDeleteConsidering Fringe Division is largely a puppet of Windmark and the Observers....
ReplyDeleteI don't really know. You'd think Broyles could be trusted, but if the team "America's Most Wanted", that's quite the conflict.
Also, Masked Scheduler came out and said last week that this was quite the episode. I'll see if I can find the tweet.
TRUST NO ONE .. is the first sentence what popped in my brain. I think they realy should #TrustTheTapes.... I mean it's in the future and Heaven knows only if Broyles can be trusted or not.... You don't know if he has been brainwashed .... My gut tells me he is still the Broyles we know...euhm knew??? ♥
ReplyDeleteThis episode is gonna be epic! So, does this mean we are taking a week off the week of October 19th? I hope not... :(
ReplyDeleteThe last time we saw him he told Windmark ''I'll get you a suspect'', and he found Simon in amber. Next thing we know Simon's head is inside a lab. I think that's what Broyles has been up to.
ReplyDeleteI take this to mean Broyles can NOT be trusted. And I love it if it's true. We've seen with his alternate that his character could easily turn ''evil''.
ReplyDeleteWhen you have a son who is dying and someone offers you a miracle.
ReplyDeleteYou think that decision would be easy?
He was not evil, he was a father, who in the end chose to let those treatments go to do what was right.
Those were not the actions of an evil man, but a desperate father who was used by an evil man who preyed on fatherhood and love,
The man is a loyalist now..so I'm guessing not to be trusted...yet.
ReplyDeleteAgain a little vague and only mention G.H. as guest cast!
ReplyDeleteBoth Agent Broyles and and Nina Sharp coming back. It'll be interesting trying to figure out who can be trusted. It'll be great to see the whole cast again. And who knows, they may even find an amber'd cow named Gene.
ReplyDeleteDidn't they do the same thing with Seth in S3 & S4?
ReplyDeleteOh no how could he! I'm assuming he said this in 4.19,another re-watch is in my future.
ReplyDeleteIt time to vote for Fan Favorite Cover for TV Guide and EW! Heres how,and where!
ReplyDeletehttp://morethanoneofeverything.net/2012/10/08/fringes-final-season-deserves-to-be-a-cover-story-lets-make-it-happen/?subscribe=success#blog_subscription-2
That would be great, but realistically they probably couldn't afford that.
ReplyDeleteI am not sure if they were this vague? Usually a guest like Eric Lange would have made the press releases, and he wasn't mentioned. It was Draque's and Rick's observation in the 5x02 promo that we first saw he was going to be in 5x02.
ReplyDeleteAnd then we have "...tracks a lead into a hostile..." -What lead? -Are we still looking for video tapes? Or are we now also looking for tech? (like looking for dissembled machine parts, or [lost] missing pieces tapes with the whole truth embedded ) or a specific person? (Why is this location heavily guarded?) And if it is another person, and they are important, again they didn't mention them in the guest starring....
Don't get me wrong, I think it's great that things are being kept from us! We really haven't had too many big spoilers!
Yep it was 4x19, but we also know he is doing it all begrudgingly, as he tries to insult and get his digs into Windmark, about drinking water, and making it out like Windmark's job was the consequences of not being a good officer in the future...
ReplyDeleteYep,as soon as i read your comment it jogged my memory, but i don't remember him saying 'i'll get you a suspect'. Poor Broyles,he has had it rough too, having to chose either his son's life or the greater good, and he has always chosen for the greater good, that in itself has to weigh pretty heavy on his shoulders....
ReplyDeleteFinally Broyles and Nina. I'm gonna keep my hopes up and trust them,I doubt they would not want to save the world from the observers... I hope
ReplyDeleteAlso the episode title is kind of wierd match with this synopsis...
ReplyDeleteOn one hand thinking about what Other's have been saying about an 'evil' Broyles, the episode title could allude to his rank change at the end of A Brave New World Pt. 2, which is at the expense of Olivia 'taking a bullet' to stop Bell...In The Day We Died, Blue Broyles of that 2026 lost his EYE (you are so right about last week being the week of the crazy eye!) making him "odd-eyed", and it was replaced by some kind of digital one...In the comic books "Hard Copy" Massive Dynamics were making identical clones, but the clones themselves had Odd-Eyes...In season 4 the humanoid shape shifters also had "odd-eyes" (as I believe shapeshifters are a vital step in the Observers creation), I was convinced because of that those references one of the s4 Broyles was going to become a shapeshiftier, but it never happened...
On the other hand the title specifically alludes to Olivia, Walter, and William Bell...I kind of think that Bell's intentions relate to knowing about Observer invasion (because I think we are in a time loop too!) So this building their going to might be the place that Walter needs Bell's hand to access...at the end of Brave New World we leave Bell as this Terrorist suspect and his stuff is put into a facility to be cryogenetically preserved...But more over if that's the case, then we have to ask how Bell would ever come to have access to any building ever again, and so this may be where we understand (or maybe even in The Recordist) how it is Bell came back and could still have his own facilities in relation to Walter's tech...
On another note is Etta that carries the weight of that Bullet and so I am not sure just because Etta let the loyalist go, that she is honky dory with everything now and perhaps Etta and Broyles have a confrontation???
I didn't mean it that way! That's why I put ''evil'' in quotation marks. Alt Broyles was playing for the bad guys, like he would be doing if he's working for Windmark. For any reason. I'm just saying it's good foreshadowing if it really is the case.
ReplyDeleteWhats with the Eyes,lol..! When i was a kid i had a nightmare of this giant eye rolling after me,just one and no matter what it didn't stop.I turned to look and froze in place watching this eyeball coming at me! Stupid yes,but i never forgot how i felt!
ReplyDeleteI've been thinking about the title too, especially with this season being a 3 part act of sorts!I thought that if anything they would have alluded to it later on like in the last act! I can't wait to see how this all ties in together.
Come to think of it Broyles and Nina haven't met Etta yet have they! Interesting to see how they all react!
Trust no one. That reminded me of The X-Files... :)
ReplyDeleteEWWWW scary dreams! :O
ReplyDeleteEtta actually knows Nina and brought Walter to her in LOT...We are not sure what their relationship is...We don't know who raised Etta, but we know at least while on the job, Etta is known to disrupt Nina's lunch hours...
It's another thing we don't know about where Nina ended up (I don't know what the building Etta goes to find Nina is titled), as she was placed in charge of Fringe division at the end of BNW, as Broyles moved up to a status of General who was briefed by this by Vanhorn.
Right i forgot they met already! Swiss cheese brain (my new nick name,ha).
ReplyDeleteYeah,Nina and Broyles are a mystery, how was she placed in charge of Fringe Division? Questions, questions and more questions....
yes didn't the Masked Scheduler say it would make people cry?
ReplyDeleteReally happy to have Broyles back whether he is evil or not! I'm hoping he isn't though more like morally gray, doing seemingly bad things but for the overall good.
ReplyDeleteThe President commended Philip that his Fringe team saved the world so he was promoted to General, and some security commity gave the Fringe division all the funds they needed in science research, as Philip accepts his new job/upgrade, he asked Nina if she would like to take his former job head of Fringe division
ReplyDeleteNo new episode October 19th due to baseball playoffs. But there will be an episode the following week.
ReplyDeleteIt's the makeup I'm telling ya! C'mon makeup department, don't get lazy on us now! ;)
ReplyDeleteJust got off Twitter with Joel, and about 30 other people. Some interesting things: In 5.01 when Peter and Olivia are in the park Peter is wearing a light colored shirt, but in 5.02 when Olivia was having the nightmare Peters shirt is a different color..It was done on purpose, since people see things differently.I never noticed the color dif. did you?
ReplyDeleteSeems that Etta has another last name, besides Bishop.Joel didn't answer and she said she has been asking Joel for a long time.
Joel never answered my question about September coming back, although he did talk to me!! :)
There are a few others but i need to go back and check!
Yes! More time displacement = time loop two different futures fighting in a specific space...
ReplyDeleteYes i thought the same when Peter and Olivia was running for Etta, something def happened to them, but what? And what the heck did happen to Sam Weiss? And i wonder who took care of Etta ?
ReplyDeleteBroyles is the representative of the Vichy government in place now that the Follicle-Free Fellows are large and in-charge. Did he sell out? Throw in the towel? Or is he a double-agent?
ReplyDeleteMy hunch--He is a gray-hat. Not necessarily a bad guy, not necessarily a good guy, just a survivor. And survivors are loyal to themselves FIRST. And they will do whatever helps them survive.
