    i have german shepherds, not for status, but because they're the most versatile dogs ever, shepherding, protection, search and rescue, companion, therapy, assistance, military working, police, narc and bomb sniffing... treat them right, KNOW your dog psychology, which OTC drugs you can give your dogs, what to do in an emergency, make sure your dog has their shots, spay/neuter, develop a good rapport with your vet, be a responsible pet owner! really irritated at tv/movies painting animals as monsters... IF a dog is a monster, you can bet it is the result of bad breeding and/or irresponsible pet ownership... i see too many people here with pit bulls for status!
