    Well, that was unexpected. I think I like this strange development, mostly because it came out of nowhere and surprised me. It might add depth to Gates by showing that she can also be pleasant.

    I think the point is it is freaking Kate out because she is nikki heat, the object of rouck's affection. She is probably thinking, oh god, she is going to figure out that we are together in real life.

    It's certainly a new take on Gates character. But I'm not sure if I like it. It's too unexpected and weird to see her acting like this. Okay, I can't say I liked her back in a season 4, but she was strong and independent, just a little too... strict, I think.
    For me it's like Baily's transformation from Grey's Anatomy in season 4, when she's started having troubles in her marriage, then got divorce and started dating. She used to be badass, yes, she was mean and sometimes unpleasant but that's why I loved her. And then she has became too girly, weak and vulnerable. I've lost an intrest in her character. It was unconvincing, too out of character for me. I just wish Gates could be more like Baily from season 1-3.

    Gates read the book and loved it .. the problem is she reading, will put the pieces together and discover the secret of the two, I think why Kate was so amazed at the reaction of Captain Gates, discover all afraid of her!

    I called Martha as the first to know back in May. A mother knows. As a mom of nearly 20 years, I knew Martha was aware Kate was in the closet. She saw the bra and Kate. Andrew Marlowe is killing me slowly with the sneak peeks!

    And I am so glad they did make her likable. I wanted to like the FLOTUS so badly that I was making her a tough lady because of her job and authority. Whew! Her softness toward Castle will assist greatly when they suspect him of murder in upcoming episodes.

    It feels like a setup from the writers... when Gates finds out about Caskett, all the good credit is going to be used up immediately, but at least it was built up or else Castle would be out of the precinct.

    Does Gates know that Kate is Rick's inspiration for Nikki Heat? I know that she's not happy that the mayor is making her keep Castle on the team but does she know why he started working with the team in the first place? I can't remember if they touched on that last season.
