Apparently, this "new" Bonnie is going to help / save the people she cares about any way she sees fit to do so and doesn't care what others think. Now she knows where Damon is coming from. Hooray for common ground.
If they're gonna give us Damon/Elena, they should at least give Damon/Bonnie a try. The constant love triangle angst is getting annoying after 3 years, a break would do it good.
I would never expect TVD to get Damon and Bonnie together. I just don't see it happening. I'd be happy if Bonnie would finally stop blaming Damon for everything bad that happens in her life.
Yes, because Damon takes things out on the appropriate people. Like when he's snapping random people's neck (like Jeremy!) because he's had a bad day. Or you know, in the trailer when he's lashing out at Matt because Elena got turned.
Do you even watch the show? Nothing has happened? They didn't have Klaus suddenly start sending her jewelry and draw her ponies and go out of his way to try and impress her. NONE OF THAT HAPPENED, THOUGH.
Yes, nothing has happened between Klaus and Caroline. It's all one-sided and more than a bit stalker-y. Chalice93 was talking about a potential relationship and Klaus/Caroline is nothing but creepy obsession at this point.
You brought him up in the first place. Acting like Damon has done nothing to make Bonnie hate him. He raped Caroline (having sex with someone who's compelled is rape, btw), almost killed Bonnie, he's the reason her Grams' is dead, he snapped Jeremy's neck because he was sad (luckily he was wearing the ring), he turned her mother into a vampire by forcing her his blood than snapping her neck. But Bonnie has no right to hate this guy? Her anger towards him is misplaced? But when Damon does the same kind of thing, where he actually does misplace his anger and attacks people who are innocent (like Jeremy), nobody bats an eyelash because it's Damon. But when Bonnie hate someone who she is justified in hating, she's turned into some kind of monster.
I didn't try to point out any similarities... I was just pointing out that, like with Klaus/Caroline, Julie Plec will pull something from her ass when she sees fit. So if she wanted to do Bonnie/Damon, "there'd need to be build-up" isn't a real excuse because Julie Plec will do anything for shock factor. And if that means throwing Bonnie and Damon together in three episodes, that's exactly what she'll do.
- Only 2 things you mention here even include Bonnie or her family. - Damon is not the reason Grams is dead. - I never said Bonnie has no reason to dislike Damon. I said she blames him for practically everything, which can't be farther from the truth. - I also never said Bonnie was a monster. I said she has misplaced anger issues which I am completely justified in doing. You're turning a simple character flaw into some sort of witch hunt (no pun intended) which isn't the case.
While Damon/Bonnie might work in the books, it would definitely not be well-received by the fans of the show. Myself included. It just . . . doesn't fit.
I don't think the fans will have that much of an issue. I know they would be an interracial couple and some ppl just can't get on board with that but it's 2012 not 1972.
Oh, I have absolutely no problem with that! I just mean that the two characters are SO different, plus the fact that they've pretty much hated each other for as long as anyone can remember. I just don't see anything romantic happening between them on the show.
Me neither. I love Bonnie in the books. I wouldn't mind it there (Or are they already together? I didn't read The Hunters, because it's not by L.J.S.). But in the series … Never.
She hates him. And as you said, she blames him for everything bad happened in her life.
Besides: she's a bitch (in the show). I mean she rather helps Klaus than her friends? He threatens her (like with Jeremy) and she does what he wants? Why not lying and pretending? She did it a lot with the people she calls her friends. Thanks for a friend like that!
I mean o.k. By revealing Esters spell (for sample) she saved all vampires, cause we now know that killing an original kills the entire line. But she didn't know that at that time. This is (probably) the only sample of her screwing up turning out to be helpful.
I really started to hate Bonnie. I liked her at the beginning. Especially, when she got stronger and more confident. But now … I mean, yeah, she loves her friends and she wants to help. But she always acts when it's already too late. And she creates more chaos than she brings solutions. She wants to help. How? By releasing Klaus? So everything can start all over again? By that time Elenas accident didn't happened. So she wanted to release Klaus to go after Elena again? Cause he would. Even if he promised Bonnie to leave Elena alone (not that I would buy it for a millisecond. And if she did, she is more stupid and naive than a newborn baby). And then what? Blaming her for everything he and his psycho-sibling do? Like she blames Elena and the brothers for Abby?
She released Klaus. Perfect!!! Did she ask them? Maybe someone had a better idea. Did she tell anyone? Did she locked Tyler away (like inside a binding barrier like the tomb, or in a coffin like they did with Klaus and tried to do with Ric) before she put Klaus inside her friends body? NO! And now Klaus is running free, killing and destroying lives again. And Bonnie (who is responsible for it) will blame all the others. Great friend. Who needs enemies if he has friends like her?
Has Bonnie had that much screentime to let viewers know that she blames Damon for everything bad that has happened? She'd fully have the right to, though, given that he turned her mother and is the reason her grandmother died.
I think it's funny that some fans are so opposed to Damon and Bonnie, or that people expect their relationship to have a "proper lead in" for them to hook up. Damon has had romantic relationships with practically every recurring female on the Vampire Diaries, and I don't recall any of those relationships ever having a decent lead-in (with the exception of Elena). Admittedly, many of those relationships were quite short-lived and I definitely wouldn't want Bonnie to be a one-night stand. However, Bonnie and Damon have a long history of tension, that usually makes for the perfect romantic setup on the CW. I'd certainly prefer Damon and Bonnie over Damon and Alaric's ex-girlfriend, which they've been hinting at for this season.
In the first season, Bonnie and Damon had a lot more scenes together and the actors clearly had great chemistry. Then somehow the direction of the plot changed when Kevin Williamson left, and there were fewer scenes with those two. I'm fine with Elena picking either of the two brothers. I'm just sick of the Elena love triangles and quadrangles and I wish she'd just pick someone and set the others free.
"Has Bonnie had that much screentime to let viewers know that she blames Damon for everything bad that has happened?" She doesn't need ample screen time to let people know. She does so at every opportunity.
"She'd fully have the right to, though, given that he turned her mother..." Her mother was turned because it was the least destructive way to save Elena. Damon didn't have to turn Bonnie's mother. All he had to do was kill her (or Bonnie). Damon chose to turn her and it's because of that choice that Bonnie's mother isn't in a cemetery right now.
" and is the reason her grandmother died." No, he's not. Grams chose to double-cross Damon by not telling him that the tomb spell traps vampires inside and when her plan backfired she had to overexert herself to get Stefan out after Bonnie BEGGED HER to do so. None of that is Damon's fault.
"Damon has had romantic relationships with practically every recurring female on the Vampire Diaries," With the possible exception of Rose, none of the so-called relationships that Damon had with women on this show have been even close to romantic. At best they were just sexual distractions and at worst they were predatory and abusive.
If you find a post where I ever typed the words "I hate Bonnie" please let me know. I'm fairly certain I never have. Just because I offer some legitimate criticism on a character doesn't mean I dislike them.
I certainly did and I actually agree with some of it. For instance: " I'm just sick of the Elena love triangles and quadrangles and I wish she'd just pick someone and set the others free."
I'm not denying that. She helped, she saved lives.
My problem with her is, that she is keeping secrets from them, lying to them. And with that she causes problems, bringing her friends in danger. This thing with Klaus is just the perfect sample.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ReplyDeleteIn the books they were a bonafide couple so, never say never.
ReplyDeleteAw, poor Damon! :(
ReplyDeleteThey'd have to lay a lot of groundwork first so even if they were considering this pairing it wouldn't be any time soon, that's for sure.

ReplyDeletePlec hasn't pulled anything with Klaus/Caroline because there's nothing there between them. It's all Klaus, which is point from the last post.
