“SUPERNATURAL” — (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET)
“Heartache” (Content Rating TBD) (HDTV)
JENSEN ACKLES DIRECTS — Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) investigate a string of unusual murders where the victims were all recipients of organs from the same donor. The killer is captured, but things become even more complicated when the brothers find their killer in a trance mumbling an ancient prayer. Jensen Ackles directed the episode written by Brad Buckner & Eugenie Ross-Leming (#801).

So excited about Jensen directing again. And this episode sounds great!
ReplyDeleteTwo episodes back to back by my least favorite writing duos. It's hard not to get discouraged. Positive thoughts. At least the premise sounds interesting.
ReplyDeleteSomething's not right when the press release's title, which is supposed to get you excited, is about the director.
ReplyDeleteIs this the Mayan God episode?
ReplyDeleteThe only things I know about this episode are that there is a flashback scene of Sam and Amelia. The flashbacks aren't as heavily featured as previously assumed.
The episode is very Dean heavy according to Jensen and Jared.
what other episodes have they written?
ReplyDeleteThink of it this way : They'll ony write a couple of episodes this season, so might as well get one out of the way early on !
ReplyDeleteTheir last episode was mediocre at best so I'm not expecting much of this one.
Sounds very interesting and yay, it's Jensen's episode! Can't wait!
ReplyDeleteThey wrapped episode 7 monday or tuesday I believe.
ReplyDeleteRoute 666, Shut Up Dr Phil and Of Grave Importance.
ReplyDeleteVery interesting premise! :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you for a new way to look at it. Like I said only positive thoughts until it's something to actually get upset about.
ReplyDeleteAccording to superwiki, they wrote "the slice girls" too :-)
ReplyDeleteI was okay with "Of Grave Importance" but I'm not really a fan either. I'll mark it in the win column if they can write another passable episode with some good dialogue.
ReplyDeleteAWESOME Press Release!!! Can't wait for the show to return!!
ReplyDeleteOk thanks, so she's filming episode 8. She usually films the first day or two of every episode she's been in as far as I can tell. She was on set yesterday filming.
ReplyDeletethey cant exactly tell us many details at this stage, the season hasn't even started yet so I guess they have to be quite selective in what they write in these press releases?
ReplyDeletethanks, cant say I'm looking forward to this then. I haven't liked a single episode they've written.
ReplyDeleteand it just gets worse.
ReplyDeleteWe already knew they wrote this episode. I'm hopeful that Robbie Thompson probably wrote one of the next ones.
ReplyDeleteSlice Girls and Of Grave Importance aren't in my bad list.
ReplyDeleteAim high. Let's hope Robbie Thompson wrote all of the other unclaimed episodes so far.
ReplyDeleteHere's a positive thought. At least Ackles isn't directing another Dabb and Loflin creation. There's a chance I'll like the way both brothers are portrayed in this one even if I don't like the whole episode. In all honesty though, there are high points in all the episodes Buckner and Ross-Lemming have written. I enjoyed a lot of the dialogue in Route 666 even if it is one of the absolute worst episodes. They can't be blamed for the fence post acting and racist killer truck would be hard for even the best writers to make work. They definitely need to scrap that plot idea and go a different direction.
ReplyDelete"written by Brad Buckner & Eugenie Ross-Leming"
ReplyDeleteSo we're looking at Dean shirtless in Purgatory having sex with monsters, the episode's guest being the smartest person in the room, Sam expositing the plot for those that missed it, and probably at least one continuity or mythology error.
Mayan gods and blood. Yep, sounds like a Supernatural episode. This is the one everyone was referencing during Comic-Con. I for one am okay with Buckner and Ross-Lemming based on the "it could be worse" principle. Remember the Amy fiasco that lived to haunt multiple episodes last year. Nice that Jensen gets to tackle someone else's work.
ReplyDeleteI agree Robbie Thompson has wrote some of the best episodes in season 7 that i really liked. He will be writing episode 4 of season 8 titled "Bitten". Sounds like an intriguing title.
ReplyDeleteWell, Jensen directing always gets me excited, even if the storyline ends up going bad, like the terrible Amy one last year.
ReplyDeleteAwesome! I didn't have that episode 4 tidbit. Is that confirmed or rumor right now?
ReplyDeleteGreat. I thought he may be writing that, I'm happy that I was right.
ReplyDeleteSo. Episode 6 Garth returns, that is a Adam Glass episode.
Episode 4 Thompson, episode 5 Edlund. COOL.
So we know writers for episodes 1-6. Anyone got info on writers or directors for episodes 7-10?
ReplyDeleteYes this is the Mayan god episode. The big question is is this the auction with the Roman and Norse gods too. It seems to fit in a lot better than episode 2 would.
ReplyDeleteGuy Norman Bee directed episode 5, written by Ben Edlund
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to it as always, especially since Jensen is directing once again. Good for him!
ReplyDeleteYes I have these already. I was looking for episodes 7-10.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you.
ReplyDeleteI think Edlund wrote eight. Jensen said it's a really crazy episode andEdlund said in Comic-Con that he had found a way to do something in the vein of The French Mistake.
